Most people do. They just make every song they sing sound horrible. The fact that kids are singing songs from people like Nicki Minaj and Rihanna kind of scares me too.
Anywho, I don't hate the albums - they crank the darn things out as fast as the Billboard charts rank the top 40, so someone is buying them. I couldn't care less.
I was surfing the channels on the XM radio a few nights ago and the Kidz Bop channel title caused me to stop and I listened out of morbid curiosity. What I found more disturbing than top 40 hits being screeched out by a choir of pre-pubescent voices into a tin can was the fact that these were children singing lyrics that become exponentially more creepy when sung by kids. It's due to that that I suspect that the market for these albums isn't solely innocent children but probably a good percentage of creepy adults who want to hear children sing questionable lyrics and suggestive innuendo.
But in the grand scheme of things i am not surprised parents allow or possibly even pushed their children into singing for these albums. There's money in it, gosh darn it! And we're in the age of Honey Boo-Boos and reality TV instant stardom. You better get out there and get your 15 seconds of fame before it passes you by. Cause we all know the measure of success is by how many anti-depressants you're on when your career finally crashes and you end up drowning in your own vomit outside the Viper Room. Everything else up until that point justifies the means.
Just because a piece music is accessible to everyone and overplayed, it doesn't mean anything. There is a lot of good pop music coming out nowadays. I don't even like the majority of today's pop music, but at least I can recognize that it's GOOD.
You misspelled "objectively good music"
Ah, yes, a necro'ed thread of epic proportions.

Ahh Kidz Bop. That stuff got a bunch of ads on the Disney Channel back in the day.
When you think about it, Kidz Bop is just a bunch of glorified covers. Here are a few problems with them:
1. Changing lyrics to make them "kid-friendly". Why they even do it is beyond me...
2. As Dirtdog mentions, it's strange that there's even a market for this kind of stuff. Almost like their pushing something else.
3. Because kids listen to Kidz Bop, they want to become a Kidz Bop Kid. And the cycle continues until they get shut down.
But overall, it's not really my concern if people buy Kidz Bop albums or not.
Radical as in containing a root, of course
Context clues. Use your noodle!

I don't hate it, but I don't like it very much. Come to think of it, it's been a while since I've seen a Kidz Bop ad.
I have a twitter, if you're interested in stalking me.
