Very nice clumping together of individuals there. There are plenty of us who can spell, but just as much or more idiots that cannot spell to save their lives.
I honestly couldn't spell like that if I tries. My OCD prevents me from doing it.

so what if people don't spell correctly, Language is a form of communication and if that form of communication can be delivered, received, and understood in an more efficient manner than so be it, languages adapt. also if your refering to 1337 speek that is a separate language derived from technical know-how, not just replacing letters with numbers, how i used an IP address and a linux command in my previous reply as an example.

Efficient manner? I used to hang out with a group of people that 'talked' (or whatever you want to call messaging each other) to each other in engrish, and they had more confusion about what a person said than most people.
And 1337 speak is taken from a group of hackers when it first came out. It was just a calling card they left on the computers they hacked.
2. Kids are lazy Let's be honest, they need to be told to clean their own bedrooms! Only a kid would want to live in his own filth rather than get off of his butt to clean it up. Besides, dunt u no? dis iznt ah testz in skool lulz
My bedroom is considered "messy", but in reality, it's actually rather clean. Although I may need to vacuume more then I do, It isn't that bad, and I know where everything is. I think that this is the way with most people my age.
3. Don't you remember being a rebel when you were young? My way of rebelling in the early 90's involved listening to foul mouthed rap music, wearing retarded baggy pants, and getting my ear pierced without my parents permission. Oh, and acting like a retard in AOL Chat rooms. Oh yes, I was a cool.<sarcasm> But kids these days don't rebel as we did, they rebel by trolling, misspelling, and making lulz.
Rebels disgust me, I think they all deserve to either be shot in the street, or they should be locked up for life and branded with hot irons.
(I'm only half kidding.)
4. Let's be honest. There are plenty of words neither of us knows how to spell, hence the good ole spell-check. I think kids actually ignore spell-check in order to be retarded err.. I mean.. "cool". But, that won't fix horrifying sentence structure, lack of punctuation, and all the other ways they can butcher our language.
Has anyone really been far as decided to use even go want to do look more like?"
It's not until you get older when you begin to realize that the way you present yourself is a major factor in how you move up in the world. If I spelled that way on a resume.. or a cover letter.. or an email to a cute coworker... I wouldn't get a job and I'd probably be hitting the gutter bars for trashy women since no decent ones would put up with my obnoxious communication skills.
Maybe I over analyze. Perhaps our education system is in dismay. I'm also not the best person to answer this post. Anyone under 16 out there able to give a better answer? (Please try to be legible)

I can't answer most of these questions, seeing that I'm thirteen. But I am one of the young ascendants who have realized true success in grammar.

When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. I don't want your damn lemons! I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!
Heck, i'm TWELVE and I feel most of the kids around my age need either better grammar or Spellcheck. Most of the time all I see is: OMG U SUX U NOOB I BTR THN U or HALP PLZ LOLOL?
I think that deliberate misspellings such as "Oh hai" or "Pl0x" are perfectly fine, but in very strict moderation.
My bedroom is considered "messy", but in reality, it's actually rather clean. Although I may need to vacuume more then I do, It isn't that bad, and I know where everything is. I think that this is the way with most people my age.

I don't think that you over analyze at all.
Oh, by the way, I'm 14.
Excellent analysis. You are an intelligent young adult. :smile.gif: Thanks!

Challenging the artist, engineer, and designer in you...
I wouldn't judge someone's intelligence or character solely based on their grammar. That's a bit shallow, don't you think? :smile.gif:
Nope. We can choose how we judge people. If we want to judge based on whether or not they choose to correctly spell the language they talk in or not, that's our choice.

This I can agree on.

Wat u tlking 'bout? Rebels are funny in a satire way.
*Stabs with hot iron labeled "Asshole"*
Does you not know what satire is? :ohmy.gif:
I do in fact know what satire is.
Another suggestion: learn to make friends with people who can spell properly?

FFS, I am obviously wonderful.
