1. Because they're dumb.
2. Because it wouldn't be a genetic advantage for a creature to not care about its own life. If that were the case, that species would kill itself all the time, and die out.
There is a difference between fear of death, and fear of pain.
As far as I know, death and pain go hand in hand
You obviously have no idea what the **** you're talking about.
Why do you say that? He's using the Socratic method, and he's starting from the beginning by asking face-slappingly obvious questions in order to get answers to others. That's how logic works.
It's not like he doesn't understand that murder's a bad thing; he's just asking why.

Thank god, someone who isn't a moron. (That wasn't sarcasm)
So apparently, you know everything about what comes after life.
Because the afterlife is absolutely what we're talking about. -.-
The thing is: people are designed to want to live. They don't want to die Taking that away from them is like stealing. They want to live, and that's all that matters. It's illegal because there's a chance there is no afterlife, and all that awaits them is a black void. Taking another's life is wasting their potential and happiness they have to offer the world.

All that awaits him is a black void? What the hell does that mean?
It wouldn't be black and it wouldn't be a void. It will be the same as before you are born.
Do you remember anything "black" or "void"?

right and wrong are very subjective. they are poor terms with which to describe the world. murder being not allowed in society deters it from happening, thus making the chance that ill be murdered much less. this applies to everyone in the society, which is why its not allowed.

First of all, a void is described by wikipedia as In astronomy, voids are the empty spaces between filaments, so it would be a black empty space between filaments. Not a logical religion but a possible religious theory nonetheless.
Second, what you're saying is also a possible religious theory. I specifically stated that all theories are possible, so your post doesn't add anything valid.
Well, Morals, well they vary between people, a serial killer would have no "morals" not only from the view of a average person, but the murderer also has no "moral code" that he goes by.
I think everyone deserves a chance at life, EVERYONE, and if someone is murdered, they no longer have that chance, the murderer shouldn't decide whether a person lives or not, it's not there choice, they can choose if THEY live or die, but not someone else.

its not a literal statement. black void is how people often imagine nothing. i think its linked to what you see when you close your eyes. eyes closed forever = always seeing that color. dont nitpick though.

I like to agree with this guy right here:

Why do all these jive-ass mutha****as gots to be askin' me all these ignant jive-ass mutha****a questions all the time?
People believe it is morally wrong because we, as a human race, have developed morals. We have emotions, we feel, we connect. Once upon a time we used to compete just like any other animal out there. We evolved and developed beyond our wildest imaginations. We now feel the question to our survival has been answered and we don't need to eliminate any competition. We are the same as any other animal out there. Put two dominant male dogs together and they will fight to the death. They don't see it as wrong - they see it as surviving.
Real answer: No, it is not wrong.
Moral answer: Yes, it is wrong.
It seems you misunderstood me, I asked why, not is

Once again, that's a possible religious choice, but it's still not theoretically proven, and is therefore invalid.

Actually it has been proven. When we die, our brain dies. Our brain gives us consciousness. Therefore, death = no consciousness. That is hardly a religion.
If you have an alternate explanation, I'd be happy to hear it as long as it doesn't involve unproven supernatural explanations.
Edit: I wrote conscience before. Ugh, my lack of attention.

I already explained that in a previous post.
So what your saying is, you only dislike murder becuase it causes social problems?
Fair enough.
Thank god, someone who isn't a moron. (That wasn't sarcasm)
Oh, my bad
On a large scale, yes.
Of course if we're talking about friends or family members I would be against it because those people mean something to me.
Because the afterlife is absolutely what we're talking about. -.-

Exactly!
If they stop existing, what do they care?
Ugh, being kicked of the computer...
If you actually loved anyone you would know the answer.
