hmm. Well i can say that my nearest city called stantuck (about 20 miles from where im at) got hit with one. Not as big up north alabama but still pretty big. My niegborhood/small town got some wind damage but nothing severe. 250+ killed/injured. It sucks. My power was out about 3 hours last night. School was delayed a hour and any person that could not come to school did not get a absent. So all and all our state is in a pickle. Hope it gets better!
Mother Nature is a powerful force. This is just an example of what can happen living in Tornado Alley, my sympathies for those who've lost family and homes.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.
Yeah, several fast food restaurants near me got leveled. Several people died of falling trees/debris, and you can hardly drive anywhere because of trees all over the roads. Somehow we still have power and internet service though o.O

Alabama isn't in tornado alley.

Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by incompetence.

Where I live we get so flooded it's absurd. The EMS and firefighters are almost never indoors during spring, cause someone's always drowning down here. It's kind of ironic too because once summer roles around we go into drought.
We've had few unusual tornadoes here in Pennsylvania too, but I don't think anyone died. Weather during this time of year seems so bipolar, one moment it's storming and then it turns to clear and sunny skies.
We had a tornado warning/large storms/flooding here in Southern IL, but I don't think anyone died.
EDIT: Although our damn brand new carpet got a bit wet...

I live in Tennessee and we had storms all night. (It's Eastern TN) Yeah, from 9-11:30 we had Tornado Warnings, and about 6 super cells passed through. Got to see the hail the size of golf balls and lightning flashed for about 20 minutes straight one time. Tornadoes appeared about five miles from my house, and several of the storms that passed through us already did or were going to produce tornadoes later on. 13 people died in the town next to mine. Overall, it was not fun staying up late waiting for the warnings to pass, but I got to play MC on my laptop in the basement anyways. :biggrin.gif:

I'm in East Tennessee too. School got dismissed early because the elementary school had no power. We're lucky that we're in Meigs County, with it being so small and in a valley, the worst of it missed us. We had some wind and rain, but no hail or anything. We did have to go into our hallway twice, though (No basement). I heard that a F4 or F5 tornado hit Birmingham in Alabama. There were some pictures of hail the size of baseballs sent to WRCB-TV 3.
I hope we don't get another storm like this for a long time.
Saw it on the news this morning. My heart goes out to those affected... Being in a Chicago suburb, I've had many tornado warnings in my area (even saw a twister narrowly miss my town once) but none of those events caused as much damage as this.
But seriously now, is 2012 coming early?

I don't feel like putting anything witty here, sorry.

2012 will have 2012 mile long tornadoes.
