This thread is asking what you hold to be "truths" in your life despite apparent contradictions, counterevidence, impossibilities, or lack of factual evidence. For example, one of mine is "There is always hope." I don't care about your hypothetical situations outlining some situation wherein salvation is impossible; I believe it. That's the important part. I also believe we live in the most optomistic universe.
Every single person on the planet has made mistakes, been totally wrong about something, or just plain ****ed up at one time or another...
The difference between stupidity and intelligence is simple. You either keep making the same old mistakes, or you learn from your mistakes, and figure out how to avoid making that same mistake again.
I guess the short version would be "Those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it."
