Public education is pointless. It's just a bunch of teenagers who:
Don't want to be there.
Don't want to learn.
Know that you really don't need to know this stuff to survive.
Public education is a waste of tax money and time.
Well, I am in 10th grade at the moment, and after summer it's gonna be COLLEGE BABY!
But I do see the point. For example; English (It's a must). The private school I am gonna attend to has two different english teachers; One american and one britsh. They are not swedish, they are english, so they know their ****. Also history and geography ('prolly spelled it wrong). Something I am really interested in. But then we have god damn math. That **** is really unneeded, except for engineers etc.

"All knowledge is worth having."
Why give up an opportunity to learn something that will eventually prove to be useful? Granted going to school is boring, and I wish we got paid to be there, but in all honesty high school was the best time of my life. College was fun, and it still is.

You don't deserve to live.
Why not?
See, if you'd just made the run-of-the-mill stupid post about how school is pointless and learning is a waste of time, it wouldn't be that bad. But no, you had to go and post something which made good sense, and demonstrated that you were a reasonab- Wait, what? Seriously? Maths is not important?

What the **** is wrong with you?
My opinion bro. So take it easy. It's the internet, so what'd you expect?
Also, I never said it wasn't important, just unneeded. Read my post before you argue against me.

No, I agree with you. All you really need to survive is knowing how to operate a calculator. Taking 12 years (in my district 12 full years of math are required) of something that calculators can do in half a second isn't exactly necessary.

there are things your calculator cant do. just so you know. its a calculator, not godmode for math.

And as an example why most math is so useless, can someone explain to me when I would try to factor polynomials? Seriously, if you go to work at a job where you need math like that, go to college to learn it, as 99% of people don't need to learn it in high school.

I am not saying math is useless, but it needs to adapt to new tools like wolfram alpha that will just become more prevalent and ever-present as time goes on. math needs to teach us how to use these tools to reach answers.

Calculators are only really used in things past geometry, like trig; for algebra, you don't need a calculator at all.
Can't think of the square of a number off the top of your head? Just do in longhand. If you need a calculator for multiplication, you're in the wrong class anyway.
On the other side, trig, you can't just solve cos23=x/57 like no ****. It's normal for calculators to be used there.

True.
