If the definition was: "To be in the same state of living forever" , then your body would not be able to send signals to other parts of your body (because they are in said constant state), and you would not be able to move.

In my point of veiw, immortality really doesn't motivate anything.
"Eh, I'll live forever, I can get it done eventually."
Also, you'd probably go insane from all your family and friends dying.

if everyone is immortal, they wouldn't die
If you are immortal, what will you do after a googolplexian years, thats 100 to the power of 10 to the power of 10 to the power of 10 years. After you've done every possible thing, played every instrument, talked about everything and you have NOTHING to do? You can't kill yourself, so what do you do? Start over?

It's super effective!
Pointless thread has fainted!
I thought it through and within the next 50 years we will have the capability to download a mind to a computer. Also the ability to clone humans. If you combine those two together and get a spouse to come along then you can live forever with her/him. :biggrin.gif: course it will be expensive as hell to do it.

The Op has not replied. I think they just died/kidnapped/brought to hell/had their soul taken.
Alright, so obviously immortality isn't realistic, since your organs would probably rot away after a couple thousand years and you'd die horribly.
But if it WAS possible, sure I'd like immortality. I'm assuming this immortality means that you can't die by physical means (i.e. falling to your death, drowning, etc.) So that would be great. I really enjoy mountain climbing, urban exploring and stuff like that, and it would be much more fun if you didn't need to carry around all that equipment.
Actually with my process you can stop it at any time so you wont have to live forever. You would technically just be getting a brand new body every 60 years or so anyway.

I think that we will have different bodies in the afterlife. I don't think we'll get tired or bored.
I hope the afterlife is like Earth, except with less sickness and death.
We'll still have our problems. Because every story has one, or else it's not a story. 1st grade English, everyone. And I sure hope that in the afterlife, it won't just be doing nothing.
Maybe in afterlife, everyone will RP so vividly that'll be like a real war.
Exactly, but I mean after a couple million years...

Death may be a part of life, but people still fear it... Humans are just weird, they don't know ANYTHING...

We might not even exist right now. It can be an illusion.

I'll take immortality, thank you.
Or maybe we're already in heaven, but we don't know this. The world is a confusing place.

That's the way I think about heaven - it's like earth, but much better. It really makes heaven seem less boring.

True. I'd only live here forever if I got noclip and fly hacks.
