I'll never understand how you people judge each other by the music you listen to... :X
The most metal songs I've listened to are probably by Avenged Sevenfold and Deathstars...
I'm more of an Arctic Monkeys/Billy Talent fan lately. Metal sounds (at least heavy metal) too... unnecessarily aggressive for me lately.
Billy talent is pretty shweet, you might like opus dai
I liked the good old days, when metal sounded like a group of extremely talented musicians.
Not now where most "metal" sounds like a hurricane in a music store and a geek crying over not being able to get a girlfriend, whilst having his testicles chewed by several weasles.
Basically, why is no one posting proper metal? Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black sabbath, Judas Priest, etc.
I gotcha covered
I'm not a huge fan of Metallica, but Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, you gotta to know you're roots...especially Black Sabbath, it all started with them after all.
So much video, my computer can barely take it ;n;
Anyhoo, I cannot help but sing along when the chorus builds up to this song :3

Do not wallow do not stall
Time waits for none at all
Your allowance may crawl,
It may fly or even vanish
But none will seem more lavished
Than time lost to all.

Haha thanks! Good to see that on here. :-D
Yeah, Metallica can be tricky, most people will go through a Metallica phase, but really there is something there for everyone, if you look through their albums, all different types of Metal.
Also, to those who say SOAD isn't metal... I'd say it is... Sure it isn't pure metal, it's more alternative metal... I think it's got a punky twist to it, that I like... Although I aren't as much of a fan of SOAD as I was when I was younger.
I also like Motorhead, Static-X, Fear Factory... even a bit of Disturbed and Drowning Pool... their a bit more modern but still good...
For some reason I never got into all that death metal bands with names like "Screaming Torsos" and song names like "A bleeding hell hound" or "A wounded virgin" or some crap to do with hell or satan or gothic ********... It just
all... Trying not to sound like an old man... sounded more like noise than music to me.
I never got into orchestral metal either but I do appreciate the skill that goes into making that type of metal.
A lot of death metal is kinda tasteless in terms of play style. But like Nile, it's pretty easy to pick out the riffs and err, idk, me and a buddy were talking about Technical Death Metal, and that some of it Technical for the sake of being welllll technical (sweep picking, supercombulatory scales <thats a made a up word) but like Nile, Origin, Necrophagist they're more tasteful with it IMO.
All in all I'd have to agree, too some it may sound like noise, and to others (such as myself it's music to my ears) it's rad, but there's no denying the skill. I used to listen to Deicide and Immolation but I just kinda got bored of the whole SATANNNNNN!!!! GOD SUCKS! thing. I'm not a super religious person, I do have beliefs, but I don't like to here about the bashing of other ppls religion, that's just me though. I do enjoy some black metal though, in moderation.
What I hate is deathcore/metalcore
UGH! Not meaning to troll but like over abused breakdowns and squeals are plagueing the so called metal scene. I mean sure it's loud and distorted but when bands start talking about there girlfriend cheating on them, basically country and rap ****, Ugh that's it.
I like SOAD, and I like disturbed. Not a huge nu metal fan...like for the life of me I can't stand Slipknot, just some scene bull.
Motorhead is a good bands, when I think of British metal the first bands that come to mind is Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and Judas Priest. A matter of fact these types of bands kinda formed a genre right from Notch's homeland known as Melodic Death Metal, such games are Dark Tranquillity, At the gates, and in flames. I guess to some degree Amon Amarth could be thrown into that mix. Those bands tend to have a more noticeable musical style.
Unfortunately core bands have kinda bitten and chewed off these kinda bands and then spewed a horrible mess. >:sad.gif:
**EDIT** I do like a lot of thrash metal bands such as Slayer (early) Soulfly
Metal only.
