Well ignoring the ignorance of the OP, it would depend on the situation. In close quarters a blade would be more desirable if you know how to use it. For longer distances a gun would be a obvious choice.
But if the quarters are really close then tough luck on the sword.
I said blade, not sword.
I don't know about you, but If I was clearing my house, which is fairly tight spaced in some places, I'd rather use a Shotgun (or even more preferably, a short barreled shotgun) or tactical carbine than my Ka-bar.
Which do you prefer, a sword, or a gun? I would choose a sword because I just like slicing things than just standing there and just shooting stuff, and if you mastered using a sword, you cannot be beaten versing someone with a gun.
Uh, if someone had a gun and you had a sword, you'd better hope they are a terrible shot.
Anyway, I prefer swords, but more specifically, my knives.
Not exactly, you can block the shots with your sword, especially if you had a wide sword. Also, about the knives, yeah I like them a lot also.
wat.

remove the zeroes and you get 21, get rid of the 9 and you have 1121 then add two more twos for luck and..
those are all the numbers needed to make 12/21/12.
oh my gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
Most, if not all of the criticisms of the M-16's reliability com from the direct impingement gas system, not the polymer parts.
Even that's an outdated complaint, as many companies have piston uppers available now.
While that's true, it's still one of the most common criticisms I hear. It could cause problems if you don't take care of your guns. But yeah, you're right. I keep my guns clean, I spent too much money on them to let them decay. :biggrin.gif:
As far as war trophies, they started frowning on that in WWII. My grandpa is a WWII vet, and he looted a 9mm pistol off of a German. He told me that they didn't want you taking trophies because the Germans would booby trap them, tying a string to a grenade or something like that.
Also, I don't know what you mean when you said that a machine gun can't be registered to a civilian anymore. Because you certainly can still buy them, although there are a few hoops to jump through. At least this it true in America.
Anyway, for home defense, I have a 9mm pistol with two magazines loaded to 8 rounds of hollowpoints. Ideally I would have a pump action shotgun. I imagine that if you were a criminal in some strange house in the middle of the night, and you heard the sound of someone cocking a shotgun, you would run for the hills. At least, that's what I would do. But in any case, I would be grabbing my gun, self-defense doesn't need to be flashy, you're not going for points. I would only choose a sword if all of my guns were unavailable.

The registry for new machine guns was closed in 1986 by the Hughes amendment of The Firearm Owners Protection Act. Any machine gun legally owned and registered before the date it passed can still be bought and sold, but I couldn't just buy a ps-90 and convert it to a full auto P-90, since civilians can no longer add guns to the registry.
