It's not like its a loose collection of you people either; your demographic makes up a large part of the player base.
What about this game makes it so attractive to you people?
the game has no anthropomorphic creatures in it, and the core gameplay is twisting nature to fit your own goals; something your fandom seems to despise.
Why Minecraft?

It only seems like there's a bunch of furries because their thread was so successful.
If you were here before they changed the voting thing, you would have noticed that over half the people lurking the thread weren't furries.
pardon? I did not join just to ask this particular question, it was just the first thing that caught my attention.
Moreover, there certainly does seem to be a large number of "furries" here. Or to be more specific, fans of anthropomorphic animals, as nekos are simply too close to be left out of the count.
But the question persists, why Minecraft? It just seems to have attracted a large number of you people to it and I am simply curious as to why.

I'd say It's not necessarily the game but the fact this community is (generally) pretty open towards furries so more people feel comfortable about saying they're a furry whereas in other communities they may be shunned and so less people are open about it; making it seem like a very minority group in those communities
because for some odd reason some people are ashamed of being human.
Naw, it is harder to see them, they blend in more, and the can converse with furries and nekos openly, so categorizing them will take a while, because they seem to be part of other groups.

We're not ashamed at being human. We just have an interest in Anthro animals.
why would you assume I referring to furries? Although that particular "fandom" does have quite a few people who are in fact not happy with themselves, I was referring to people in general that do no like their humanity.
Now please; why is there such a density of furries in this community?

Hell, I don't know. Why are there so many anime fans? Or Neko fans?
We're just here so deal with it.
There are so many furries because people wish they were an animal that could have reason, thought, and interaction that humans can have. However, that is just day dream therefore they pretend they are what they make out to be. And most furries are just kids who are really obsessed with animals.
Can't say I disagree entirely but don't agree with it either in my opinion people just take it too seriously.
If I had to guess I'd probably say the surviving in nature part of minecraft is what makes it popular among furries. But I'm not a furry so I can't speak for them. Perhaps it's the community, perhaps it's the sandbox indie game thing that fits in with furry culture, or maybe it's just because there happen to be a lot of furries. But what I want to know is why do you even care?

How about, the way we live makes us more noticeable to people. Chances are, we're still quite small in numbers, you just seem to notice us easier..

well that's my $0.02 anyway...
Also Neko =/= Furry.
okay, now that you have openly stated that there are plenty of furries on this forum (and many other apparently) would you tell me why?
and for simplicity's sake I am using the term "furry" to deal with anyone who enjoys anthropomorphic animals so in this case;
Neko = Furry.
Things is, Neko's aren't anthro animals, they are humans with animal ears and tail. Not the same as furries. Who are humanoid animals.
When you mean "plenty" exactly how many do you mean.

That is the basis of my question; what quality of this game attracts so many otherkin to it?
You also seem to be growing belligerent, has this brushed you the wrong way?
