It may be hard to believe, but its true. My teacher is the worst person to be teaching me algebra. I mean, half our class is spent listening to her stories. I DON'T CARE IF YOU WATCH DORA THE EXPLORER WITH YOUR NEPHEW.
She spent a total of maybe 2-3 minutes just briefly explaining what a union and intersection was.

Give me an internet if you think I deserve one. =)
No. For one it doesn't even include all the elements in the intersection (which is an infinite set). Two you didn't say what you picked for R and S. You can't just give their union.

Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by incompetence.
All you have to do is pick two non-identical sets that line up only at the numbers described in R ∩ S. Like if R was only even numbers and S was only factors of 5. Of course, you would have to use proper notation to describe that.
I mean, is ∃x,y (Rx = Sy) true?
If the intersection of two sets is non-empty, their union will definitely be non-empty as well. The intersection is always a subset of the union.
R ∪ S ={-30,-10,0,10,20,30}?
So you're telling us your teacher/professor/instructor didn't teach you before they assigned you this.
I find that hard to believe.

Oh, I got ∩ and ∪ backwards again. Glad I don't have to take that class anymore.
YES
HATE THE WORLD
GIVE ME MORE POOWWWWWWWWWWAAARRRRRRR
But seriously, with no numbers I couldn't do math like that anyway because I am stupid and I wouldn't WANT to help you besides

R={ Something i don't know }
S={ Something I don't know }
R ∪ S ={Something I don't know}
I don't know what to do then.
Yes. You are.
oh
hahahaha
Oh, CedricD got it right I think.
Edit:Dont post here anymore, this is an old thread.
