The ceremony starts a 6:00 pm PST (8:00 EST) tonight. CTV is showing it Live throughout Canada. Some people in the US who live near the border may be able to match CTV (we have it on our cable here in Lynden, WA :biggrin.gif: ).
NBC will be showing the ceremony Live in Eastern and Central Time zones. It will be taped and shown at 8:00 in Mountain and Pacific time. So, NBC is showing something that is happening just north of were I live 3 hours late. Figures. :/
I'll be watching CTV anyway.
So, what will happen? How will they light the torch? Who will do it?
Tune in tonight to find out.
Oh, and go Cana... um, I mean, go US and Poland.
Ah, hell, go Canada too. XD

At the end of the day it's the chair I trust
The cushion is comfy and the works don't rust
With a straight line of vision to my Elvis bust
Watch the kingdom, eat the bread crust
Some dude on the radio said some dude who's right 97 or somethin' percent of the time (And was EXACTLY right last winter olympics) said that we were gunna win 18.

Yes, but there is also the "Canada Olympic" curse. Apparently, Canada has never won a gold medel at its own Olympics.
Besides, you can never trust sport predictions. Anything can happen. (Like the german guy that KOed at the trials today) EDIT: I posted this before finding out that he died. And he was georgian, not german.
Rest In Peace, Nodar Kumaritashvili

I watched most of it and I will be surprised if Canada doesn't get a medal, there were loads!
There was even more Americans. :biggrin.gif:
I loved the cerimonies. The cauldron lighting idea was cool. To bad one of the legs failed. :/
But they have the full BIG cauldron elswere, were you can actually see it, so no big deal in the end. I'm sure they'll fix the indoor one before closing ceremonies.

Ahaha Men's Ice Hockey is getting closer and closer. Gold will be Canada's. With forwards like Joe Thornton and Sidney Crosby, Defense like Scott Niedermayer and goalies like Martin Brodeur and Roberto Luongo, we'll kill. Of course many other European countries have strong teams too like Sweden and Russia.
Still, I will let my patriotism and love of hockey get the better of me and say, Canada WILL win.
HA HA South Koreans fell on the short track last night. Americans then stole 2nd and 3rd. XD
And 18 to zip?!?! Slovakia must suck to lose that badly, no mater how great Canada is. Canada is definately gona get to the finals, at least. And don't get to cocky! Even the best can make mistakes. And even the worst can make a comback. Just sit back, and let it all play out. :biggrin.gif:
Luge is gona be boring now that they start out so low. :/
*ahem*

I do think that Slovak game wasn't about skill but about how much Slovakia sucked. Slovakia is playing another great team today, Sweden. We will see if they truly are that terrible. Scores like 18-0 barely happen in hockey! Also, United States beat China 12-1 so I guess China isn't so hot as well.
The Koreans on the short track were funny... the 2nd and 3rd place (both from South Korea) tried to compete with each other and ended up giving up their spots.

lol, that was hillarious. And guess who took their place? Americans, of course. ^ medels now for Apollo Ohno (I think I spelled that right...)
Anyways, congrats to Canada for their first gold at home. CTV had never-ending coverage of it. Little anoying cause I wanted to watch luge... :sad.gif:

Canada beat Switzerland 10-1 and Sweden beat Slovakia 6-2. Both of those games were predictable. Grats to Germany for gold in Women's 10km Biathlon today.
Men's hockey is starting today. USA vs Switzerland, Canada vs Norway and Russia vs Latvia.
Mens Hockey : USA beat Switzerland 3-1 and Canada beat Norway 8-0.
We also broke the record for most gold medals ever in a winter Olympics. I'll let my whole patriotic guard down and say USA played a hell of a game and scared the **** out of me when Zach Parisse scored the goal that tied the game with less than a minute to go. I said I would forgive Danny Heatley for being an arrogant ass and lack of a team player on Ottawa if Canada won gold so he is forgiven (Atlanta fans probably hate him even more now).
Anyways, good job Canada, USA, Finland, Russia, Sweden, Slovakia.

How do you know? they may win 0 medels (like previous Canada Olympics) or they may when over 18. We'll have to wait to see. :smile.gif:
