I don't like the iPad much. It's just a giant iPod Touch, and it doesn't even have multitasking. It's won't be replacing netbooks anytime soon, and I much prefer my laptop over it.

It'll have multitasking in less then 4 months. It runs iPhone OS, and when OS 4 comes out with multitasking... Duh.

Bree Bree Apple Ifanboi detected, and in 4months a PC manufacturer will have released a significantly more advanced tablet that isn't stupidly overpriced
The thing you guys are screwing up on is it's not supposed to be a tablet. It's designed to fill a gap between smartphones and laptops, when you want a bigger screen but not have to lug around 5-10 pounds + chargers and whatnot. It was also designed to compete with the Amazon Kindle. Compare the iPad to a smartphone or the Kindle and you have a whole new ball game.

It's supposed to compete with Netbooks, and it really has absolutely nothing on Netbooks. Netbooks are cheaper and can do more. Bonus points for not being restricted to the app store.

I suggest looking up the microsoft courier, that is the bridge between smartphones and laptops, also ever heard of netbooks?
Heres a pic of the courier
Although its still in development this is what apple should of gone with in design ideas, and Google is already launching attacks on the Kindle, and their models are significantly more advanced. And how is this a whole new ball game? Numerous PC manufactures have already released tablet pcs into the market field up to 3+ years ago this area has already been taken. Its only really getting popular of late due to the advancements in the fields of processors and shrinking everything down.

There were smart phones before the iPhone, doesn't mean it wasn't revolutionary. Also, I see stylus. Stylus = BAD. NOT GOOD, BAD. FINGER = GOOD, STYLUS = BAD, MMKAY? Not to mention that the iPad actually has 3G cellular, something not many people seem to get. You need wifi for the courier. Not for the iPad. Also, it uses unlimited data cellular data plans, not limited data laptop plans. How many applications can you get for the courier? How many can you get for the iPad, noting all iPod Touch apps are iPad compatible.

I see styluses more efficient than the human finger currently, because everyone has a different way of using their fingers. Styluses mostly make my life easier as well. So no matter how many times you voice your capslock, people still won't agree with you for it.
Tablets are useless and will remain useless. It's even more useless without a true OS. I mean an OS like Windows 7 (take a look at the Archos' tablet) or MacOSX. Seriously, why would people buy a closed tablet then they can buy a netbook for less ? This is why I don't like Apple ; they manage to sell closed products.
PS: Android for the win. HTC Hero > iPhone :biggrin.gif:
Well, tablets do serve a purpose for artists wanting to do digital work. Of course, those tablets are purpose-built and cost several thousand dollars due to the amazing quality of the touchscreen and associated artistic software. Needless to say, the iPad is not like those tablets.

Ugh..
Thanks for that.

I think I just have a dirty mind though.

(Microsoft doesn't release quality products, yet for some reason they're still afloat.) (Added to quell the "ZOMG APPLE HATER" people)
But yeah, I don't think I'd have much use for it.

I have never bought anything related to Apple.
Though the iTouch looks good.
