they look the same though and have the same "No one online, well this sucks" message!
The backend is the part I worked on the most (the things the people don't see).
Less bugs and more style on CH.
Plus I am planning on shutting down Cookyx :wink.gif:
Like i said... I like to recycle my code.
OH OH I forgot to say..
This senior year I have to make a huge assignment on web development and I HAVE to create a community from scratch but using this I will be able to make it different so you WON'T be able to say that! :tongue.gif:

lolz i'm actually in web design 1 typing this. i don't really like it because there's a lot of kids who got put in here just to fill up the class and could care less about learning (i got paired up with some of them last week). the class is pretty sluggish itself, i think i could learn more just studying at home.

Yeah! It's sometimes hard, but yeah the community I am going to make is from scratch (like the forum and reg system) so it's going to fun.
I can have something on the order of 3000 objects on-screen at 60FPS before any slowdown occurs (and I still have some optimizations to make) :biggrin.gif:
The hard part is over since I have both the simulation and graphics sections of the code done, and they're ready to be split into different threads and everything. All I really need to add are the bits important to gameplay, like a scripting engine so I can get my bullet scripts out of the compiled code.
This was something of a challenge because, for this type of game, each of those bullets has to be individually programmable. I don't want them simply moving in a straight line (in the pictures, I have bullets that have their angle adjusted after 90 frames). That's boring. The solution was pretty simple, though.
I merely set up a polymorphic base class of bullet that contained a virtual function that would be called once a frame, allowing the programmer to modify the bullet's behavior using the given accessors and mutators. Then I just had to make my bullet list not chop my objects. Simple enough.
:ohmy.gif: SAME!
For IRC or local use? If IRC, can you help me with putting mine online?
It's one that can have a conversation with you.
It will take a long time to make.
How far are you on yours?
I've made some functions to split lines of input up into words and relevant phrases, and so far, implemented them to make it recognise "x is/are/was y" sentences. it then remembers and accumulates the results in a file called knowledge.txt
If you then mention the subject of a factoid, it will tell you what it knows about it.
That's what I'm starting off with making! :biggrin.gif:

Cools! Let me know how you get on. Mine is called Geeko, but answers to Geek too. :biggrin.gif:
Mine atm can do four things.
If it sees a word it dosn't know, it will ask what it means.
If a possivive (my,your, their) is used and a form of to be (is,am,are) is used two words down, it will say "So you have a "MIDDLEWORD"? And remember that you do, and ask for it's name.
If you say (pronoun/noun) and then have/has it will remember that that person or thing has that.
If you say he/she/it without saying the name the pronoun points to it will ask, "What are you talking about?".
I'm learning C# right now. I'm going to be making a platformer where you jump up a tower that's randomly generated. The camera slowly moves up. I'm just waiting on my friend to send me a file and some graphics he made.

Blargha! Blargha! Blargha!
I wouldn't listen to a thing I say. I'm probably insane.
i learned html when i was 9. last year, i took a web design class, and it focoused completely on it. i ended up teaching the teacher some stuff, and had ALOT of free time, even after helping all the people around me finish... i took it because it was an easy A, and it was. but something happened withc makes me wish i never took that stupid class, something WAY to long and dramatic to go into, but i guess i still had fun.
i also know some BASIC C, and C++. biggest thing i made was a calculator that could do all my math problems for me, when i was in 7th grade. xD

I am currently converting my rougleike into a graphics. It will be similiar to Ivan.(not in gameplay but mechanics.)
Guna look into a web development, CSS HTML PHP the lot.
This.
I am making progress :biggrin.gif: Ignore the FP bit.
The rouge like is going to be based on mine craft because its awesome.
Also the map format has been improved, I used to do:
0 0 0 3 0 0 0
Where 3 was the sword but now I do:
#Sword# x y
at the end of the main map file.
