Easy, for those with hardware problems, may it be "my pc keeps overheating" to "my screen won't go higher than 1024x720 what the **** am I doing wrong". I just feel like fixing people's PC.

In a way of 'against' this, we aint tech support. But i like this idea, and i would like a sub-forum under Minecraft Support for this.

neither are the Steam Forums, but they do have a forum dedicated to hardware and stuff.
My cheapo CompUSA (now bankrupt) brand soundcard by C-Media is shot. Both of the inputs yield nothing but strong, interestingly flavored static. The trouble is that my webcam, with microphone, also generates loads of nice static. I've checked all around my room for any source of electrical motors, or whatever could possibly be causing interference, to no avail. This leads me to expect that the drivers have somehow become corrupt, which is curious as they haven't changed in the 7 years since C-Media last released drivers for their cheap product. All signs are green, WDM reports that all pieces of the soundcard, codecs, and webcam are enabled and functioning nominally. I'm suspecting the easiest thing to do would simply be upgrade to a "real" soundcard, but I was so badly burned by Creative's Audigy 2 (poorly, poorly written drivers conflicted with DX 9.0c!! What kind of moron does that? Results were instant lockups, complete with high pitched squeal, on thousands of peoples computers... that Creative ignored, pretending that it was the manufacturers (mostly Dell) or the users fault. Ha.) I really don't want to give them money ever again. Then again, EAX support in games would be nice to have again. Games are beginning to outstrip my old processor (2MB L2 P4 overclocked to 3.8 GHz) that software powered advanced audio is a burden I don't need to put on my already strained single-core chip.
My Team Fortress 2 game has gone down the toilet with my internet voice. =(
Also, I can't stably overclock my nVidia 7900 GT to perform at the level of the 7900 GTO or GTX, so I think you need to send me a GTO, QT.
Also also, the heat has gone out in my car, which is frustrating as I just had the heater core replaced 8 months ago. I'm thinking Louisville's flood last month had something to do with it, as my blower motor resistor also shorted out. The poorly designed rain hat (not my name for it, I promise!) Ford placed over the CAF didn't have a high enough lip on the edge facing the engine bay, meaning more than three or four inches of rain yields overflow through the CAF straight into the blower motor, resistor, AC evaporator, etc. I have since installed the "Rain Hat Extension" ($30 for a strip of rubber.) and had to replace the cowl panel while I was at it ($60 piece of plastic and rubber), as the 8 year old rubber won't conform to the windshield once it is removed. This should solve all future rain hat overflows, so it should be safe to troubleshoot the heat. It's starting to get just cold enough (in our unseasonably cool temperatures) that I need something less than really freaking cold AC to defog the windows/de-shiver my legs. Where do you think I should begin searching for the root of this issue?
first off, its either QK or Quatroking, not QT, Qt is a programming language.
as for the soundcard, have you looked at Realtek cards? I have great experiences with them, and their drivers are godly.
I don't see how sending you a Gate turn-off thyristor would help you in any way on overclocking your Nvidia card. I have a GTX280 myself, and when I feel like overclocking it I play a bit with the device settings in the Nvidia configuration screen. Tried that?
QT is "cutie," "cute," or "quality time," all three of which are noble qualities. Qt the not-a-programming-language is a lame framework for people too lazy to do their own UI work. You could be King QT, but I'm just not feeling QK. Cue kay doesn't roll like cue tee. QK rhymes with pupae. See? Not something you want to be associated with.
Anyway, I'm saying the physical properties of my card prevent the memory from being overclocked to 1800 MHz (900 effective), so I'd love for you to send me a 7900 GTO or GTX (the O is cheaper) to remove this limitation and allow me to blaze on past the 540 core, 1652 memory I've got the card running at, and on into big gun territory.
I have a Realtek AC97 in my tablet and it's okay. The lack of record "What U Hear" or "Stereo Mix" or whatever the other monikers are for that, is a serious no no. I would never pay money for a Realtek card (which I've never seen). My mainboard in this PC has an onboard 7.1 Realtek flavor that crapped out on me a few years back, hence the use of the cheapo CompUSA card. So you are essentially telling me you haven't tried any of the new Creatives, either? Nuts. =(
What?? Fixing the heat (again) would cost thousands upon thousands less than a new car. I reject your answer, sir.
gimme them so i can fix it
Isn't minecraft support enough? Or General Chat?

Cars are hardware. Thanks for your help, QT!

Car answer: get a new car.
