Popped back onto this site for the first time in years and saw this thread. Went to log in and it seems all the old accounts are gone? Wouldn't let me log in anyway, had to make a new one.
Used to be quite active in the off topic community years ago here. It's crazy to see that it's still going.
A lot of accounts got deleted because of something to do with the gdpr and then the twitch migration (or was it the other way around?) If you haven't been here since then, you were probably deleted.
Sup. Been a while since I was last here on the MC Forums. Though it does appear to feel more quieter now here on the MC Forums.
No doubt. I was pretty active here a few years ago, but the draconian moderation here disgusted me so I moved over to Spigot's forum. Just for grins, decided to pop in and check on this forum.
It's amazingly dead compared to three or four years ago.
I find them to be active enough for my first forum, but yeah with the thread removal, the height of the game not being the same as back then, other platform and various other reasons it's not surprising, but the threads I maintain 2018+ and the things that appear here from needed support, recommendations of mods, new updates, community creations and more are why I stay around.
And as a 1.4.5+ Java Edition/dropped off 360/One Edition player, while I have been bored with the game a few times I still find even if things are a bit the same I still find a reason to stick around while with other games I more so go down the singleplayer road and just watch videos on what people think, and with many things I play usually being for collecting games on older consoles or the odd new game on a recent console every so often there isn't many things I see what the community is doing while with Minecraft I do want to check out what the community does or feel the forum experience.

Considering the rate of decline I'm astonished there's any remote level of activity here today. The GDPR thread/account removals and the forums-going-down spook ended up scaring off a lot of folk. The rise of Discord doesn't help much. Minecraft still has a very active playerbase, one of the largest on the planet. Yet the forums here are quiet.

In more recent years I've often found myself bored, but that's because I haven't explored or pushed myself to try different aspects of it. For a long time I never thought I could stick with a singleplayer world. That holds true, but only in survival. Creative is a different story. Additionally, I keep forgetting the sheer scope of what mods and servers are out there these days, and find myself in need of broadening my horizons.
Believe it or not, but I've played Minecraft since early 2013. I haven't been real interest in having an account for this until now so that's why it says I made it like an hour ago... but I'll probably only be on here for one day and then leave ahaha.
I think back when I first started playing, the latest update was either 1.5 or something in 1.4.... but I remember playing on 1.5 for a lot of my earliest days. I took a long break from minecraft during 1.8, came back in 1.12 or so...... mind blown by combat update (I still hate it.) But I've been on Minecraft regularly for the last 3 years
I've always been a veteran myself. I rarely come to this forum. I went by the name Thunderhoof1, Steeljaw354, Eggman111, StarlightGlimmer and others in the past. It's funny when you had such a bad reputation as I did in the past, but then you look at yourself now and see how so much has changed - and all that is nothing but a distant memory, but a good one.
Am I the only one who barely remembers when they started?
I believe I first checked it out somewhere in 2010 but I wasn’t very impressed at all, it took all the way till beta 1.8 which introduced Creative mode for me to start playing it. I just wanted a game which to build in. Pretty soon I spent more time downloading mods than playing the game lol. Good times.
I also remember preferring Roblox back in 2010 because “you could do so much more in it”
I guess im still here, but I just come back sometimes for nostalgic reasons and to laugh at my old posts. The population is extremely low now compared to back then, which is sad to see.

Traditional forums are kinda dying off which is a shame. It is actually kinda depressing really.
Bought the game at the end of September 2010, still actively playing - never really stopped.

16yrs+ only
I see people blabbing about their 2011 experiences all the time.
Though a minority were probably born on the year 2011 instead and are just purposely shaming the new updates because "nostalgic people are cool."
You call?
Hey dude,
im playing Minecraft since 2013 so i can describe myself as a true veteran.
To answer your questions: Yes, but were slowly disapearing
I've been playing the game since the Redstone Update.
So yeah, 2013-ish despite what my join date indicates.

I am in your dreams, haunting you!
Can I have that 85%?

Figured it was time for a change.
