Every now and then I'll encounter a post to a forum that follows this peculiar format:
Capitalize Every Word So It Seems Like You're Writing A Title For No Reason.
Strangely, these posts usually go on for at least a whole paragraph, and occasionally have a few arbitrary words that aren't capitalized. What actually causes people to write like this? Only the first letter of each word is capitalized, so it certainly isn't caps lock, nor is it laziness since doing so requires you to press the shift key once per word. It can't be a translation issue since the sentences are always quite cohesive, and often there are a couple words that are "missed" from capitalization. It's very puzzling. If you've ever done this, could you explain why?
It's a habit that some people have because they think it makes them seem more sophisticated. It's a silly thing to do and might even be more annoying than not capitalizing at all.

Capitalizing Every Word Looks A Lot More Sophisticated
than just writing in all lower cases
I learned a rule back in grade school that you don't capitalize unless the word is more than 3 letters long, or so they said. I guess people are just trying to be grammatically correct but make it look awkward instead. However, I would much prefer someone going out of their way and capitalizing every word instead of just writing all lowercase. At last demonstrates effort.
I think you missed the context of that grade school lesson, as that only applies to titles of works.
"At least it demonstrates effort" is a poor excuse. Everything requires an initial effort to learn, why not learn and practice it correctly the first time? This poor practice only delays having to relearn and establish correct usage later; unless you really believe that future employment opportunities will continue making excuses for improper grammar, spelling, and punctuation for poorly learned / stubbornly ignorant people who deny the importance of proper syntax.
Seems unlikely because I haven't ever seen another language Where You Capitalize Every Word.
Their young minds probably think capitalizing every word makes them look older, but it doesn't kids.
It Looks Like The Culprit Is A Failed Attempt To Appear Sophisticated Instead Of Bad Grammar, Translation, Or Typos. (See what I did there?) On the other hand, it could also be eight-year-olds not paying attention in English class and not realizing that title case only applies to titles.

Eh Who Needs School I Can Just Capitalize Everything To Look Intelligent.
You know, it does seem reasonable that it's an attempt to seem more intelligent.
Once I met a user who typed in caps, and I asked him his reason. He said caps are easier to see, which may provide some insight (even though reading all-caps statements causes eyesores). After proving him wrong he eventually stopped doing it.
Typing in all caps is very different from starting every word with a capital. All caps is at least somewhat acceptable, it probably is easier to see and if someone isn't looking at the text they may just have accidentally press caps lock. Only first letters requires deliberate action and there's absolutely no reason to do it except to attempt to fulfill a malapropism that is actually false.

This is either a habit of some people, or from personal experience it's trying to use grammar.

it pains me to write like that

Oh, ok. When you said that the person you met typed in caps and said that it was easier to see I assumed you meant TALKING LIKE THIS. Sorry then.
