Well, I actually do because when I first tried modding the game 7Zip had some problems with adding the modified classes to the jar (I believe what this thread said; note the replies saying to get WinRar), and simply renaming it to .zip and using Windows to extract it (as some modding tutorials tell you to do) broke it because some older versions (at least up to 1.6.4) have a file named "aux.class", which is not a valid filename in Windows (Windows simply stops extracting the jar/zip after reaching it with no error messages).
That's the only thing I use it for though; I haven't even paid for it (supposedly after 40 days it inactivates itself but it never did, or they just put that message in to nag you until you do buy it).
Correct the official site is http://www.rarlabs.com/ and I even bought WinRar from the site and the license works so and I always install it first on new PCs with no trouble. I never even heard of Webroot except that I know it contains malware within itself. You are best off getting Norton or Intel Security from your ISP or whatever you get. Most ISPs give out some kind of free anti-malware software.
Hey guys! PrimedPixelCake here,
I had recently got WebRoot Protection on my computer. I tried to install WinRar today but it said:
Threat detected!
Malware!
winrar.342.exe
What?! It was working fine about a month ago, I had to refresh it.. I dont know why it said it was malware! I'm extremely confused right now!

I'm probably not a good source of info, but sometimes malware finding things count non-malware things as malware.
lol get 7zip
who the he- heck uses winrar
If you did install WinRAR from the official site, then it's probably a false positive from your antivirus software.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
If you got it off the Winrar main site it's fine, Webroot pings all kinds of false positives.
If it's not from the main site, DEFINITELY get it off the main site! getting it off of other sites may end up giving you malwares

There may indeed be fake sites pretending to be Win-RAR or other well known programs.
This is the Official Win-RAR site though Win-RAR is not free.
