Hi, I'm an old timer back from a long absence. I just got burnt out on Minecraft and quit for a couple years but lately I've been getting back into it as well as texturing. Been playing Minecraft since Beta 1.2 (2010?) I made quite a few packs back in my day. Fells good to be back.

This isn't an official leaving, but I've been having a difficult time trying to stay on here for a good while now. At this point I'm kind of ashamed that with all this time I just don't feel like I've contributed much. It's often feels more like a chore to come on here sometimes, but I do it because the servers whose forums I'd use to cruise on are dead at this point, and if I want to talk to anyone about anything MC-related, this is the only place I can really do so. Even then, I'm considering moving away from the forums for a little while to shut out extra exposure to Minecraft. I just don't enjoy the game anymore, and it makes me even more upset knowing that. I've been battling depression for a year and a half now and I don't think it's making my experience, or anyone else's on here any better, and psychotic mood swings are not helping. I don't even want to think of the posts I made when I first started. Good gosh they were bad.

Goodbye Zaffre, I hope you're better with your other projects.

Looking back at your old posts and thinking "wow, what was I thinking?" is a positive experience because it shows how much you have grown as a person during your time on the forum, and personal growth is very important. Looking back on my oldest posts here brings a lot of shame, but I'm grateful for how much I've been able to grow over the last decade. If you consider how your posts were back then, and how they are now, then you can imagine the next 5, 10 or 15 years of growth too, and even if you don't feel great right now, and even if you can't imagine feeling great any time soon, there's evidence right in front of you that growth is possible.
You've certainly been a positive contributor to the forum, and although I can't speak on behalf of every member here I can say that the forum appreciates your contributions here, as do I :-) If you consider how many people 50,000 is (it's enough to fill the Liverpool FC Stadium) then based on one of your contributions alone you've positively impacted more people here than most people will ever have a chance to.
Anyway, good luck with everything, we all eventually outgrow our interests and have to make the right decisions for our wellbeing. I haven't played Minecraft in a long time. I hope that when you do feel like visiting you know that you're providing value to others by being here. Thank you for your contributions :-)

Looking back at it, yeah, I have indeed changed over the years a lot. Can't say I'm exactly proud of my old posts, but I'm glad that I'm better today. All for the better, too.
As far as contributing to the forums goes, I guess I just feel this way comparing myself to some of the other veterans of the forum. Can't exactly say I know much of anything regarding the skills of a bunch of other users here. I was pretty excited to learn that my city project got that much attention, to be frank. From said project I've learned a few things about planning and structure, which has proven to be useful in my other projects, although I still encounter a few problems that mostly seem to be tied with mindset.
Thank you for the kind words. Chances are likely I'll hop on every now and then to see how things go. Hope I didn't derail this thread train too much.

Hey Seal! Welcome to the forum =) Survival is amazing, I agree! You'll enjoy the Survival forum, maybe you should start a survival "journal" thread there to share your world and progress in it~
Hello guys my name is Victor, I'm 22 and I'm not new here, but it's my first time using this forum... I started playing minecraft in 2009~2010 in the browser classic version then someone in the server told me that they realeased a version with a survival game that was the alpha 1.2 I supose. Then I never stopped playing. I used to enjoy building huge stuff with a lot of details in it but I don't have more time to spend and i'm only playing when the life gives me some break. My pride in minecraft is my 5 years old hardcore world that I used to play. I recently bought a PS4 and a minecraft version for it... I'm looking for some friends to play together.

Thanks. I look forward to the day it gets conquered, and I hope some projects of mine turn out for the best.
