do you have a pet that you have known sense your childhood or one that you have today? mine would be my cat Cinder. She's is a black cat that stays outside ALL the time no mater what because she is pretty much a feral cat, by that I mean she can't use a litter box so we keep her outside and she also hates her coller so we don't keep one on her and let her roam around the neighborhood, the only reason she stays with us I guess is because we give her food, water, and shelter, and she acts as a working cat and keeps away moles and voles that would eat my mothers plants. She is friendly and not very talkative but she is almost as old as me becuase we got her around the time when i was born but now she is gotten pretty old and I think her time will be up by the end of this year at least. so now that I have told you about my favorite pet tell me about yours, deceased or still alive.
We had a golden lab named Sandy back when I was two. She was my grandmothers dog and used to watch me play video games when she was a puppy. She died shortly after my grandmother moved in with my aunt back in 2010 for unknown reasons. Suspected poisoning since the neighbors apparently kept throwing trash into her backyard before she fell ill, though there were also scorpion dens in the backyard so that could be another cause of death.
Lake Havasu City was generally a very crappy place to live, Sandy probably would have lived if we actually lived in a town full of competent people - the doctors there are no exception since my grandmother got a nasty back infection shortly after she had hip surgery there, not to mention it took them five hours for them to tell me that the next time I had a allergic reaction to shellfish to just take some Benadryl.
When I was about 2 my mom brought home a stray kitten & I got the privilege of naming it. My favourite word at the time was "cookie" and so that became the cat's name. I'm not really a cat person, but I liked that cat. I'd describe him as a well-meaning psychopath.
I'm putting this...fond childhood memory in a spoiler because it involves Cookie killing many small animals.
When I was around 3 the cat evidently looked at me one day and thought to itself. "It's about time someone taught the little girl how to hunt her own food". Cookie then began surprising me with gifts of dead mice & birds. Eventually the cat decided it was time for me to graduate to live prey & it came through the cat door with a mortally wounded bluejay which it spat at my feet. Much chaos ensued (my mother didn't take kindly to a shrieking ball of feathers & blood being given to her toddler). This left the cat very confused. After all, he was only trying to teach me a valuable skill.
Still have our tortoiseshell cat, Cappucino. I don't get to see her often anymore, but she's still my favorite because she's the only cat I ever had.
Is she a stray or something? Asking that due to the part where you said you don't see her often.
I have a cat named Harold anyways. Hes a darker orange with brown-orange stripes. He's quite the pretty cat and we've had him since 2009. He was pretty much wild then. He acted as if he was beat because he was scared of pretty much anything in the house. He'd stay outside all day and bring animals into our yard. (One day we caught him hauling a dead raccoon over the fence. He killed it and hid it under the porch.) He goes outside to this day and acts as if he was a dog following us around and doing stuff with us. He's quite the muscular cat too. Big, and he gets into fights all the freaking time. (You'll hear him screeching and screaming out in the woods. We caught him the other night fighting another orange cat in the neighborhood.) He's pterodactyl meaning he has 7 toes on each of his front paws and 6 on each of his back paws. Very fierce to other animals but very loving towards us. He stopped being so skittish when we moved with him to the place we live now. Sadly he's getting quite old. We're guessing hes at least 8-12 years old.
Another pet we have is a dog named Scout. We don't know quite yet but we believe he's a border collie/lab or pointer mix. He's medium sized. White belly with black spots all down his legs and chest and belly. He was also pretty much wild when we got him. Neighbor had him in a 4-foot pen but he'd just jump clear over it. He likes to stay outside, mark his territory, keep other dogs out of the yard, and hang out in the woods. He's a birding dog pretty much. He would hang out at our house and play with us down by a creek in the woods or in our yard, so we adopted him from the neighbor.
Other than a dog we used to have called Smudge and other cats named Maggie and Bob (I was a baby when we had them. Don't remember them barely at all. We also used to have a half-wolf but sadly she got pretty sick and died. She was a great dog. Very nice..Wish she was still alive tbh.) there's not much more.
I had a German Shepherd when I was a baby, I don't remember him but I've seen pictures of him, and he was a real sweetheart to the family and two of our cats.
I had a dog named Alazay (Alah-zahy) when I was like... around 5. We both grew up with each other, she was a puppy, and I was a... uh. Kid.
We had her until around... 2011/12? But then we had to give her away because we no longer lived in a house and both me and my mom were gone all day and couldn't take care of her any more. I still got to see her for a while, and she did go to a very good home. Eventually though those visits stopped and I never saw her again. It's probably for the best, I don't know how many years she had left, and it would kill me to see her die.
Oh, and one time she had 13 puppies, three of them sadly died. . The rest we had to give away. My mom wanted to keep one that looked like a lion, but my brother still gave it away. That also has a story behind it, but to keep this short, I won't discuss it.

I've had too many cats, and I loved all of them. Right now I only have one cat called Marco.
I've also never had a fish, but I would really like to get one.

I'm still a child, so I can choose my current pet, right?
Bella the dog. She's an adorable golden mutt, who is very social towards me, my family, and even other dogs.
