Have you ever had something passed down as a family generation and would be considered priceless or loot? What about items your family started keeping and still hold on to it until now?
The last time I remember something cherished, was a dull-yellow pocketwatch my grandfather gave to my mom. My mother explained to me it was a rather old watch and could be worth a fortune. The only reason she had it was because she needed to repair it, and I just felt something nostalgic about that pocketwatch.
So do you have items your family keeps to remember something or someone and pass it down to their younger generations?
Not really. I do keep a tube of my grandfathers ashes with me that actually has a funny story behind it. Before my family were to share the ashes amongst us we were to first poor half of his ashes into the lake (This was back when I lived in the white trash town known as Lake Havasu city). So we poured them into the part of the lake near the London Bridge which was where he always used to take me and my cousin when we were kids.
After we poured the ashes and halfway from our car, we saw a lake patrol boat (which I guess you would call them) right on top of where we poured the ashes, the officers looking right into the water. Since Lake Havasu is a somewhat famous place for partiers during the summer time, I guess they thought we were disposing of cocaine into the water or something since bone ashes vary slightly in color from white to light grey.
Other than that I also got a Mickey Mouse watch from my grandfather that I keep on me.

I find this funny, as my cherished item is a Mickey Mouse hat that my grandfather gave me. A year or two before he died of cancer, my family went to Disney World. I kept complaining about the sun being in my eyes, so my grandfather bought me a baseball cap with Mickey dressed like a sorcerer on it. I have long since outgrown the hat, but I keep it on a shelf in my room. Ah, memories.

My current avatar is Gyro Zeppeli from the popular manga Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. He's my favorite character. I love his optimism, dry humor, and his ability to do considerable damage even without a stand.

my great grandparents lived on this old farm house with a small area of land which my great grand father got from his father so my great great grand parents. so we have had the land in our family for about 90 years or more. but both have passed away (one 14 years ago and the other about a month ago) but the land was passed onto the family. so no one lives there but we do go down and hunt on our land and visit the old remains of the farm houses and old cars left behind.

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed
I have an old handcrafted rosary that my great grandmother made and used extensively. It is quite worn from use and shows evidence of being repaired on numerous occasions which makes it very interesting to me. An icon so treasured by a family member that can also stir old memories is fascinating.
Then there is a buck knife my grandfather gave to me when he said I was ready to guide tourists on fishing trips from his camp. It wasn't a fancy knife, but the memories and sentiments make it priceless. He played up the presenting of that knife to me like he was entrusting me with the Holy Grail, and I ate it up. I wore that thing so proudly like it was blessed by the pope himself. Good stuff.

My granddad's 16-Gauge Shotgun. He got it from his uncle when he was a kid, and used it all his. When my dad was a kid, he hunted with it too, but my granddad kept it. A few years before he died, he gave it to my granddad (mom's dad) to hold on to it and keep it in good shape. He wanted him to give it to me and my brother when we got old enough. My brother isn't as interested in guns and hunting as I am, so he gave it to me to keep. It was a very rusty gun when I got it, but I got it good and clean, and we've shot it a few times. Still shoots great and kicks hard.
My father is a businessman and whenever he travels far away then he'll get me a special cultural thing that shows something about the culture of the place he visited. I have a couple of these and keep them on a little shelf above my bed.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king

That sounds like a precious item to have if it's been with your family for a long time. What specific year was it bought?
Back in my childhood years, we would always collect every freebie toy that comes out whenever you buy a kiddie meal in Mcdonalds. I think we've been doing this for 10 years already until sometime where they slowed down production of toys. Today, I never thought that they would serve great as decorations.

I have a massive encyclopedia of animal books given to me as a kid by my late great grandfather, I've been told that they could be worth thousands if I put them up for auction but I'll always have them close to heart and stored in a safe, clean place.

I have two .22 rifles passed down from my grandfather on both sides of my family. My father also has an old civil war rifle that was found in the rubble of a museum that burned down. It was given to him by his father and will be passed down to either me or my brother, depending on which one of us has a son.

My 2 brothers owned an IPod. (IPod Nano 2008) I always loved hearing the music from them and taking videos with it. (First Ipod nano with camera) yet when my brothers saw me using it they'd take it away.. but i was like five at the time. this pass year they gave it to me. since i've kinda lost connection with my brothers and rarely see them or my whole family together basicly it makes me feel closer to them and i feel like that five year old that would steal the ipod and listen to 2/3 songs before they caught me using it. still to day i listen to those 941 songs and 10 videos yet to make another video or download another song to keep it all theres.

Not sure specifically, but it was around the late 20s or early 30s when it was bought.
I have this Lakers Championship cap from 2009 that my grandfather gave to me.

I have a really expensive and old fountain pen my grandpa gave to me in his will.
I still use it today, it's always by my side on top of my dot pad in case I need to jot something down and want a sense of nostalgia.
