I read the post "A Game Music Study" and it wasn't quite what I expected but it made me think about game music. My friends think I'm weird because I like game music. How many other "weirdos" are there? lol.
Me, I like the soundtracks from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Katawa Shoujo, some tracks from FF7/FF10, most of the Ever17 music, Legend of Zelda tunes, uhh.. oh yea, I also really like the soundtracks to both Lunar and Lunar 2. Unreal Tournament had catchy music. I like some of the music from World of Warcraft and a few tunes from the Ultima games. I have like twenty versions of the Tetris theme too lol.
Oh yea, how could I forget Final Fantasy. I have about sixty Final Fantasy albums, how could I forget that lol. Uematsu Nobuo makes awesome game music. I almost got to see him at Otakon, but I dallied too long and by the time I got near the panel it was already too crowded to get in, grrr. I like the original game music, almost all of FF6 and select tracks from 7/10. Oh, and the Black Mages covers of FF songs are great too.
Game music is the same as any other form of music to me. My favorite soundtracks are from Terraria, Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky - as well as the Ruby and Sapphire, Diamond Pearl and Platinum, and also the X and Y games from the Pokemon series.
I love listening to game music - lots of my music library consists of instrumentals from games. (Well, among other types of soundtracks, of course!)
However, I do have a bias for a specific composer, Motoi Sakuraba. He's done the composition for games such as the Tales of series, Baten Kaitos, Eternal Sonata, and other JRPGs. I listen to his compositions so much that I can identify his style - like, when I pick up a game, I can tell it was done by him.
For me it really depends on the music, sometimes their are some really good songs, and you want to listen to them some more even after playing the game, but sometimes their just really annoying and irritating.

I love game music especially in Kerbal Space program since it has this music when you're flying the ship in outer space and it contains the sounds of whales.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king
sometimes i listen to game music but depends what am doing in the game
for example i love the borderlands theme and sound track one of the best but if am just going around and mobbing i like to but on some rock but if am farming for some loot i like to drop on some chill step

I like the BL2 Raid on Digistruct Peak music, all LoZ music, and most Nintendo music. If I am not doing any of that, the music goes off, and the AC/DC comes on (with a little Elton John and Red Hot Chili Peppers, of course.)

Check out this mod, which now has a 1.8 brother to the 1.7 version.
I always love the in-game music providing that it is decent but even then I always listen because being immersed into the environment of a game is a really big thing for me.
I do really enjoy C418's music in Minecraft, but the problem is that I'm usually multitasking, so I mute the in-game music so I can have a YouTube video playing on one screen while playing Minecraft on the other. I also disable the radio in GTA V because I prefer not to be distracted by it. Same with racing games like Forza because I don't want the distraction and I like the engine noises.

Do you like game music, if so, what do you like?
Look Gary, there I am!

I enjoy Minecraft music. Some find it annoying, and I do sometimes, but sometimes I find it peaceful and calming.

But man some of the Skyrim music <3

I don't think I'm the only one, I sometimes prefer music with no lyrics and has a really good rhythm and melody to it.
And I would say that music would have to come from games, respectively.
I'm just gonna leave this here.... http://www.rpgamers.net/radio/index.php
I haven't abandoned this forum just yet.
The first unreal game has had some of the best music in any game I've played.
I'd link my 4chan account here, but . . . well, it doesn't take a genius to figure out why I can't do that.
Ah yea, I forgot Unreal. I never played Unreal, but I liked the soundtrack in Unreal Tournament. Quake had good sound too.
