Well I try to be out longer but my schoolwork catches up with me. In the summer I usually wake up 8 am and stay outside until 9 or 10 pm. I come here to meet new friends and have discussions like this one
Well my previous point still stands. Someone of your age can't relate to me and my life experiences. So I opt for servers in ant game that are 18+. Who else could I rant to about the original 151 pokemon being the best?

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
I am 24. Someone who is 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, or even 16 years old can not possibly relate to me.
Well it just depends on their personality. tbh just because someone is younger than you, doesn't mean you will instantly have nothing in common with them. I'm in highschool and I currently have a friend who is 22 and married. we are great friends...

Never said we couldn't be friends. Only that you cant relate to my experiences.
I am not gonna say how old I am because my mum does not want me to but all I am saying I am under 13 and my teacher says be mature and ignore swear words. I am very mature for my age on social media, unlike my friends at school who would probably fall for one of the tricks where you throw something on the ground and its meant to be a trade but they run away.
I think it is good to have age blocking but it would be good if you could contact the server owner or admin and say you are mature for your age and you might be allowed on.
Anyone who says they are mature for their age is a liar. No exceptions.
Avoiding swear words is not an indication of maturity, especially considering it is called "Adult Language".
Why drop something on the ground? Why not hand it to them like a normal person?
Yea unfortunately that sucks but you still have so many other servers out there. Maturity isn't an age unfortunately, you can be my age and be immature. I am 25 years old 0.0

Ok first of all, I am 11. I am turning 12 soon. I have wanted to play on a whitelist vanilla server for quite some time now and when ever I am filling out the application form to join one, they always think I am too young or immature. I think and have been told by many people that I am very mature for my age and it sucks that everyone just assumes and am a COD kid on the internet who swears here and there and doesn't give a crap about what he says and neither do their parents. A lot of times it is also because they think I won't fit in with people older than me.
That isn't true. For example: I played on a minecraft server for a year and half with a person who was 22 and when I finally told them I was 1o almost 11 they though I was 15 - 16. All I want is for people to give me a chance because I love minecraft, but not immature little kids.
I know someone who is your age and just about as mature. Although being young she still has her moments.
Let's enjoy the age we've got, and not wish for the age we're not.
I'm not going to say my age (I like to be as anonymous as possible on the internet), but I do agree with what some people have been saying. Even if you're really mature for your age, that doesn't mean that older people are going to want to spend their time with you. I find it really awkward spending time with people that are years younger than me. Even if they don't swear or act immature, it's kind of embarrassing because it's hard to relate to them.
Quote from echonite
And kid who says "I am mature for my age", or anything like that, no, you aren't. You are a child. Wait till you are out of school, life will smack you in the face, and keep on beating the crap out of you till the day you die. I havn't had a decent nights sleep in over a year...
I agree. Life is harsh; enjoy your freedom as a kid while you still can.

I'm on a bit of a hiatus from playing Minecraft, so I'm not so active in this forum, either. I still check it though, and participate in a few discussions.
I understand you. Everyone PATRONIZES me like i'm 5, and when I was 8 years old this lady thought I was 5. I was so offended, I didn't say anything. I hate people patronizing me, even my sister has experienced it. On minecraft servers they treat me like a greifer. Stupid stereotypes in media. In cartoons, they show 12 year olds like they would with 5 year olds.
1 and a half hours? That's all? I used to be out till the street lights came on. I would spend at least 2 hours swimming in my grandmothers pool.
I blame parental paranoia.
I would honestly say the same. My parents wont allow me to go out for as long as I want because they always think that something will happen to me. I wasn't allowed to spend the night at a friends house until I was 12 years old. I also would blame technology, because I tell my friends I want to hang out at their house, yet their idea of hanging out is checking facebook :/ And lastly, I would blame modern society. Nowadays people think that it's wrong for someone over 13 to use their imagination because of "all of the other stuff they can do". Nowadays people are considered "childish" for using imagination because it's just because of what modern society thinks.
Nowadays people are considered "childish" for using imagination because it's just because of what modern society thinks.
Most people in society don't consider using imagination as childish. In fact, many business people lament the lack of imagination in young job candidates.
You say being young isn't fun. When I was 12, I was outside playing in a damn canyon, building forts, playing hide-and-go-seek/kick-the-can. I played legos with my friend down the street, made pretend swards out of PVC pipes. Being 12 was flippping awesome. Get off your damn computer and go do something. Once you grow up, you will wish to be young again for the rest of your life.
American society has become exceptionally paranoid about kids being alone outside. There are a growing number of news stories about parents who've had their children taken away by Child Services (at least temporarily) because they let their kids go outside alone. A few weeks ago, in Maryland, a neighbor call the police and Child Services because ta couple let their 12yo & 9yo walk less than a mile to the local park. Those kids were taken into foster care while an investigation was conducted. The kids have been returned but the couple is still fighting in the courts over the charges of neglect. A few months ago the cops were called to a house because a 5 year old was playing in the front yard of his house alone (mom was inside). That kid was temporarily taken away to. I'm 40 years old, both those things were totally normal when I was kid.
Most of the "mature" 7 year olds aren't mature. If they actically are mature, then there is no difference between playing with them and playing with people that are older then them and also mature.
Most of you are COMPLETELY misusing the word 'maturity.' First, I put the word in quotes to signify that it was subjective: meaning everyone thinks they are mature but most people aren't. Second, mature 7 year olds and VERY different than mature 15 year olds or mature 25 year olds or mature 40 year olds.
Do not mix up "Life Experience" with "Maturity." Maturity is a finite thing; it's not a goal that only has to be achieved once (unless you're a piece of fruit). When someone says they are a "mature 7yo" or a "mature 15yo," the unspoken part is "for their age" and the type of maturity being reference : "they are very emotionally mature for their age". A 7 year old that is mature for their age is NOT the same as a 15 year old that is mature for their age. So no, interacting with mixed ages that are, in some way, considered "mature for their age" does in NOT mean there isn't a difference. If you don't understand that it means you have a LOT of educational / intellectual maturity to attain.
Actual definition of 'Maturity':
noun
1.
the state of being mature; ripeness:
The fruit will reach maturity in a few days.
2.
full development; perfected condition:
maturity of judgment; to bring a plan to maturity.
3.
Finance.
the state of being due.
the time when a note or bill of exchange becomes due.
Example:
Although full physical maturity has been reached at this time, educational and emotional maturity remain ongoing.
LIFE EXPERIENCE is the measure of what you have actually done in life, what you have learned, where you have been and the wisdom you have (hopefully) gained. Playing with my 11 year old nephew, who is much more mature than most in his age group (especially intellectually), still isn't all that fun for me. While we have some shared interests, most of my time is spent just like now: Explaining things he doesn't understand yet because he lacks life experience. That's not exactly fun for either of us. That doesn't mean that age is always a barrier but the bigger the gap in age does mean the relationship will be different.
Don't be offended or upset because you don't make a whitelist because of age. You have lifetime of age discrimination ahead of you so learn to deal with it now. Before you know it, you won't be allowed to do certain things not because you're too young but because you're too old. Such is life.
Oh boy, you're in for a bitter realization. Patronizing doesn't end once you get older. And you can't even yell out some nonsense rebuttal to cover all insults, believe me I tried.
Had a senior employee I worked with patronized me and I yelled at him, "Yea? Well I'm rubber and you're glue... and stones can break bones, but ummm something something words can't hurt me!" He looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears, and I'm no longer allowed to use the urnials when there are other fellow employees using them. Try to tell me how to stand while I pee... I showed him.
If you feel the urge to say you are "very mature" despite your age, you probably aren't. If someone were to ask me if I am mature, I'll laugh in their face and make farting noises while I gallop around them slapping my thigh. Set the bar low so it's easier to exceed expectations, I always say.
There have been quite a few spot on comments as to why it is and should be perfectly reasonable to restrict players of specific ages. I don't care how mature you, or anyone else, mistakes you to be, there will forever be a gap between what you understand and should be exposed to at certain ages and an adult community. I often play to relax and unwind and do not want to play somewhere I am constantly needing to censor myself. I am not saying I refuse to play with anyone of a young age, but there are certain times I want to play and socialize with people somewhat close to my age.
It has nothing to do with age bias or stereotyping or cooperative gameplay. It's being able to crack an inapproperate joke and not feel guilty that I just exposed a fresh innocent mind too early to the taint of my off color humor. It's being able to make a REO Speedwagon reference and most of the other players get it. It's not using my mic at midnight and having everyone else on Teamspeak speak softly cause my wife and son are sleeping and they understand. It's having to go AFK for sometimes an hour to feed my little monster and/or chase him down to get him to stop running with scissors or trying to stick that butter knife in the electrical socket, or just to sit and let him read " Doctor Moose, My Tooth is Loose" to me for the millionth time cause he actually wants my attention at the moment.
There are somethings you just won't understand until you get there. Until then - this is the same piece of advice adults gave me when I was younger and it still remains relevant - enjoy your youth. There are plenty of things you can do now, mistakes you can get away with, things you can enjoy, that you won't be able to once you're older. Time flies; next thing you know you find yourself in all sorts of adult situations - paying bills, carpooling, making dentist appointments, having to work with no more summer vacations... I'll stop before I depress you too much. Just enjoy.
I don't know about awesome. Sure, there are some things that are good. But being forced every day of your young life to go off to some place where people are crammed into one building forced to work with no pay. That isn't exactly a good thing. Schools always say how they try to stop bullying but they don't care. So you are basically stuck in the same place with people who want to harm you emotionally and sometimes physically. As an adult, you don't HAVE to do anything. Obviously not having a job isn't a good thing but you aren't forced to do anything, really.
True. As an adult I could chose to quit my job. Living in an alley and smelling like I haven't showered in months, because I haven't, seems fun for a little while...
In 10 years you'll understand... For now, well, youth is wasted on the young...
You are treated equal on servers if you are mature, no matter your age. I started playing Minecraft when I was 11-12 and I played with many adults in there late teens or 20's and they never said anything. Being mature is important and may kids your age are not, so that has created a stereo type. Which in all reality, is reasonable.
1 and a half hours? That's all? I used to be out till the street lights came on. I would spend at least 2 hours swimming in my grandmothers pool.
