Like sometimes I will find a Minecraft animal skin that will have a top, and sometimes even foot, head, and face wear, but still no trousers! And I wonder "Why do people even design their animal skins with no trousers!?" I'm not saying I want them to stop, but, the weird thing is that they also look weird when they DO have trousers. Back on topic, this has been itching inside of my brain for a while, begging for a complete answer to this, and I don't want to suffer anymore. Can anyone tell me why people do this?
For identification that it's an animal, and not just a regular person with a weird face or animal mask. I guess.
I don't really understand your question. "Why do people do Minecraft animal skins without trousers?". Maybe they like it that way- it's their skin, they can make it however they want. Maybe it fits in with some sort of format. Who knows? Is it really worthy of being questioned?
It's one of those stereotypes. It's not just minecraft, it's also movies, tv shows, etc.
Think about the Cleveland show for example, there is a bear that wears a shirt but not pants. Think of Sonic and his friends, they sometimes wear shirts, but not pants. (Sonic especially said that himself in a episode of Sonic Boom).
So it's basically just a popular stereotype that is used in different ways.

Yeah, or Winnie the Pooh.
People usually don't depict animals with pants.

I'm on a bit of a hiatus from playing Minecraft, so I'm not so active in this forum, either. I still check it though, and participate in a few discussions.
I don't see any cause for alarm. Why, you ask, is because people can, and people like said skins and want to use them. I'm not sure if you're condemning them because they do not portray the skins wearing any sort of pants, or that you are not comfortable with these skins that do not have any pants.
Either way, again, the reason why is, because they wish to, and they can.

like the compelling story behind people designing their animal skins without trousers, even behind the reason that they want to.

Like it looks weird when they don't wear trousers, but a little bit less weird when they are wearing trousers. And it looks REALLY weird when they are wearing EVERYTHING but trousers, like in one of the pictures in the picture that I posted. And I'm like: Why!? It's weird since it looks like they had the nerve to wear other things, but still no trousers.
Animals don't need trousers, because they have fur. I think it looks good.

When you discover why, then you will know the secrets of the universe.
It even happens in the same cartoon universe. Why does Goofy walk upright fully clothed while Pluto walks on all fours and is completely naked? They are both dogs. Like how many licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Or why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways? Stuff on a ship is called cargo and stuff in a truck called a shipment?
We could spend all day contemplating the mysterys of the universe.
If it had pants, you wouldn't be able to see the lava pattern as well. Besides, it's not like lava blobs need pants. They're not human.

Yeah, sometimes things that aren't nice or don't make sense just don't look right when it isn't that way. Like those two pixel tall and wide skin. You know what I'm talking about. Just look up girl skins. Nearly every single skin has that look.
E.g.:
Some minecraft animal skins have trousers, some don't. I'm asking why people design them without any.
