Now let me just set a borderline, please don't discriminate people who post in this, sure this is backseat modding but it's rude to judge people on what they like, this forum is for those Minecraftians out there who still have a place in their heart for the infamous Hot Wheels, where you can share tips, and generally just discuss Hot Wheels! I don't always spend my time on the MCF so please don't msg me or anything asking why I haven't posted in a while or such, I have other intrest's but I will have to check on a daily basis this forum, to make sure nobody has decided to be rude to someone else for liking Hot Wheels. So feel free to start a simple discussion in this, like what car is your fastest or... tips for buying good Hot Wheels etc. Thanks for reading

Okay just to start a conversation, does anybody have any tricks/tips on how to tell a hot wheels is fast just by looking at it? I may have a few, but they're just generic and may not even work

They're mostly meant to just look good, not necessarily roll fast. I think most of them use the same metal axles and similar radius plastic tires, so I can't imagine there would be an obvious advantage between one car and another. If you're talking about going down one of the ramp tracks, I would think what matters most is weight (more potential energy) and ground clearance (so the bumpers don't rub the track and create friction if the slope changes).
I had a massive collection from when I was a kid, but I keep my smaller collection of newer ones in a display case in the living room.

Well your leaving out other key factors, wind resistance, balance, etc. I've had some incedences where a the ty looking car was the shiz, not take note, i'm just talking about simple 1:64 models, and becides, I have to change the title to 'User Hot Wheel Discussion' and besides I have a quote directly from wikipedia "Although Hot Wheels were originally intended for children, they have become popular with adult collectors." This means they were less for looks, more for fun, or atleast that's my theory, because usually children represent fun and new life, again only a theory based on my experience with my families never ending string of cousins-of-mine, all being energetic, fun, and still being new to the world, along with the fact that the literall base age for Hot Wheels is children within the age of 3-7 so I have proof that Hot Wheels were originally for fun, you know your grandma that's was born 1955+? Well they played with these, the grownups weren't even in the picture 'till the ing insane came out *looks at Hot Wheels' "Sling Shot"* so yes, I believe that Hot Wheels were for kids, until about the late 90's to today.
