Whether you are a child, teen, adults, or an elder.... I'm sure every one of us has experienced loneliness in our lives. If you would like to share your experience on loneliness and how you escaped from it, then I invite you to do it here.
Whenever I feel lonely I always escape to my mind. In my mind I can be anything that I want to be. I could be a dashing hero saving my friends from an evil warlord one day while being a loner who saves the popular girl from a bully the next day.

1 Year ago the military was on the losing side of the war. All seemed bleak until one soldier brought a penguin in to training. They had trained that penguin in the use of explosives and sent him out into the field. They had thought that they had won but the agent went rouge. Now he only lives on as a legend, the legend of ShotgunPenguin.
Through loving my self. Ever since I got over my self esteem issues, I've been pretty content with keeping myself company, but of course if someone else is willing to be around me, I don't mind.
I don't really feel lonely unless it's the summer, in which case I actually start longing for school to restart just so I can have more socialization with my friends (despite the small amount I have with them over the summer). But most of the time I just call any of my friends that are on skype at the time, and we just hang out over skype for ages, pretty much a cure for loneliness.
I usually just get in my car, turn the music up, and drive. Most of the time I don't know where I'm going, but it's nice to be out on the road.

I deal with through the internet during the week and on weeks ends with my job. It also helps if you don't think about it trust me on that one because it can get hard sometimes tto deal with. When that happens I just need some spic music to get my mood up or ride a bike or read a book just to get my mind off it.

Well, I escape loneliness by, well, it's rather hard because of my name... just chilling out with a bit of music and a good game, maybe even a good book. Also hanging out with a few friends on Xbox and even just chatting works wonders too, sometimes anyway. One way or another though, technology is an excellent way to escape loneliness, it's helped me since the very beginning.

I used to go on the internet or play a video game. While I still do that now, I find myself playing my guitar more often, even though I kind of suck, it still helps get my mind off of things like loneliness, depression and anger.
Of course now that I'm planning on getting a new guitar and amp, it also brings thoughts of anxiety as to whether I should get the ones I've picked out.
By the Internet, of course. It was much easier to talk about the things I loved without being treated as an outcast or being bullied (especially in the way that people would exclude one from games and parties and such).
And I find that the Internet still works its wonders today.

People see me and think I'm weak. But I can take care of myself, by myself.
I haven't abandoned this forum just yet.
I have a Spoon. Your argument is invalid.
