I recently saw an amazing technology for gaming, the Emotiv EPOC. It is a headset that can detect brainwaves, then send your thoughts and emotions to a computer wirelessly. Using the programs made by Emotiv, the computer can make certain thought or emotions into key input or mouse input. It looks amazing and deserves as much popularity as the Oculus. It even looks a lot better than an Oculus. (I have not used either)
That brings me to my question: Why is it so unpopular???
The reason why it´s not as popular as Oculus Rift is because as opposed to Oculus Rift it doesn´t actually add anything to the experience or enjoyment.
This is a new way of controlling a game, OR is a new way of experiencing a game.
Apart from that I also doubt that it´s very accurate in its readings, nor very user friendly to set up. It´s a fun thing for in a lab, but not very practical or enhancing for consumers.
It can detect emotions, winks, blinks, expressions, and thoughts. It is very accurate with the first four things I listed, but for thoughts it is okay. After using it for a while, both you and the program get more used to each other, and it gets easier. As for setting it up, it looks simple enough, but I don't know for sure.
I probably sound like I work for Emotiv and am trying to advertise, which I'm not.
Never heard of it. So It reads one's thoughts, eh?
How would one map "Cammy lust" to kick?
As an example, the key to kick is "k". In the program you would set the test to activate the key "k", then start the test. For the 8 seconds, think of the words "Cammy lust" over and over. When you play the game and the program recognizes it as the main window, thinking of "Cammy lust" should make the character kick.
