Haven't seen any topics for Kerbal Space Program (KSP) here yet, so let's make one!
Post your rockets, stations, bases, cars, planes, spaceplanes, missiles, fighters, etc etc... or just discuss KSP
I'll start this thread by uploading some pictures of my Mün station :
Proud member of the MCF AWA war of '13! if someone suggests Alienware or Cyberpower, wait for a custom-built list from someone who knows their stuff. Meh Rig
...You seem to be a lot better with Kethane than I am.
i know the basics, kethane+power = more fuel.
kethane miner on minmus + ship orbiting minmus = intersetllar travel...
Assuming you can get drill bits down that is.

The most I managed to do with kethane was scan Kerbin a bit via satellite probes.

heres what i do.
-Scan planet
-Build kethane mining rover
-Send rover to planet
-Attempt to land in a green zone/kethane feild
-miss
-land 50KM away
-drive 50KM
-mine
-wonder what to do with the kethane....

Ah. I guess the idea with the kethane is that you have a refueling stage go down and have it bring the kethane back up to the main rocket.
My general plan so far is
-Go into kerbin orbit
-Scan
-EVA ends up headbutting off a solar panel

well to be fair Kethane mod in it's self is quite inefficiant. You land on a planet, refill tanks, take off (using gas you just got) then continue on your way.
i like to use it with this mod. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/35217-0-21-1-Extraplanetary-Launchpads-v3-New-Launchpad-Ore-Scanners
this way you can make a large base on, let say minmus. You mine kethane and make fuel for your recket, and launch completly off of minmus. This is great because the low gravity and no air means you can, quite literally, make single stage interstellar transport (although it is a bad idea to go single stage anything)
so now it becomes
-send out probe for kethane and ore
-land a kethane miner
-land a ore miner
-land a forge
-land a launchpad
-make rocket parts and fuel
-build a rocket
-???
-profit.

I think the idea of it is that you can have, like, a super-heavy lander with tons of tanks and drills and then dump most of the fuel into your interstellar stage before you go down, and then refill all the way with the lander stage when you go back up. Thus, you have interstellar travel basically indefinitely.

Assuming your landing is good enough to land a lander many times, on a set location, with ample amounts of gas.
not to mention differant moons/planets have massivly differant landing, and orbiting requirements. (as in a lander than can easily land on minmus, then re-launch will probably not be able to land then launch from Eve.

I feel like the only guy who has not used kethane mod yet.
i feel like the only guy who can't get a plane in the air.

Eh, I probably wouldn't know anyway, the best I've made so far is a solar orbit.

i use mechjob to plan the corses out for me, i'm no rocket scientist so theres no way i know that stuff.
Anyways, i decided to upload all my KSP pics to imgur, heres some select ones i've wanted to share.
decending onto the mun, before this i had many probes try, they all crashed, so i said screw it and went with kerbal'd lander. http://imgur.com/a/HrDX2#6 She be landed.
Happy crew.
First rover on the mun.
Beginings for a mun base.
Seccond rover carrying some "houses" for my kerbals. Note, this thing is fully loaded with 18 kerbals...
my biggest non-mining rover meeting up at the base.
-story-
i accidently had the 3 main kerbals get launched into deep space orbiting the sun. so i left them for about ten years... anyways, i EVA'd them across a lot of open space...
in the new ship.
coming back to kerbin.
just missed KSC...
EDIT: the forum decided not to load my pics... so i guess its just an album for you to look at...
sadly all my pics didn't upload... so ill just add them to that album.

And I'm just sitting here with the demo version, trying to get into and back out of orbit. I have a pretty good craft for only playing 4 hours!
I managed to get into orbit within 4-ish hours of playtime, pretty much only because of lots of videos I watched before getting it. I only got mass failures when I started trying to go interplanetary.

Is this minecraft thing still going? damn.
my first big miner didn't end well...
my second one needs to be deployed.
