Eversion, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, You Awaken in Razor Hill, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, and Demonophobia if you're not into the fetishy stuff in it.

I haven't played any actual horror games, but if you're asking for the scariest I've played, then it would be Half-Life 2.
Those darn zombies come out of nowhere.
Ah man when they showed up it nearly gave me a heart attack at Ravenholm they were just so creepy... But now I kill them for sport in Gmod.
Slender was never scary to me, I don't see why people scream and LKYGFOLEAHGWQ when they see a black body behind them. I have played slender at night in the dark, and it didn't bother me. OT: Oculus Rift needs to work with slender.
The only things that scare me are really just really sudden jumpscares and stuff just due to the fact that they surprise you.
Resident evil 1- the first time you come back through the first hallway and 2 dogs burst through the window, or the part towards the end of the game when you get a cutscene of something moving incredibly fast towards you, and then in-game a hunter slowly walks around the corner.
Silent Hill and Fatal Frame- greatest horror atmosphere ever in survival horror, and outright classy and sophisticated.
Dead Space- great atmosphere, but to combat based to be really scary, cause your character is a badass.
Tingle from the Legend of Zelda- scariest character EVER!
Ok, just watched a few playthroughs of slender. I understand that watching it and not playing it, the game does not have the same effect, but honestly it was pretty weak, and borrowed heavily from silent hill, except wherein silent hill your radio creates static when enemies are near, in slender the screen goes static. Are you a robot, or do you have a television for a head? As you collect pages more ambient sounds are added and slender man becomes more frequent, which is nice, but it needed more. Maybe as you collect pages the environment becomes more chaotic, as if you are in another realm, or you see ghosts of his victims warning you or crying out. The game kinda reminded me of the South Park episode The Startling, lol. Being startled and frightened are two completely different things.

Please note that scary and creepy are two different things.
TT2000, you are genius.
