I might be purchasing Arma to get the well known mod, DayZ.
Now, just wondering, is there anything I should know, such as what keys do what? If somebody could get me a list of what the default keys do, that would be GREAT!
Yet again, this is a MIGHT situation, no 100% sure if I will buy it, but I do still need a list of things.
It shouldn't matter whether you have the retail version or the Steam version; both should both work fine, just make sure you're patched up to the latest version.

z to descend (helicopter) (and I think air break in a plane, though I'm not 100% sure off hand)
DayZ standalone should be releasing in a month or two. You guys want to hang on and pick up that instead?
You should be able to play together, its the same game and all. I would recommend getting DayZ Commander (Google it) to update and setup DayZ otherwise it can get confusing.
The thing is he already has it. He got it on steam. He also said he doesn't want to get standalone, he's fine with the mod, and so am I. But let's just hope we can play together.
Thanks for all of the feedback guys. Much appreciated
Most likely going to get Arma II Combined Operations today, but if not on Saturday or Sunday. But like I said, on disk because I have a $50.00 gift card for EB Games and it's only $28.00 so...you know, makes sense to use it on something you really want, hehe.
Well, I have it on disc (Bought it before it came on steam), and DayZ works fine.
I like DayZ, but make sure you try out normal Arma 2 too (or with the A.C.E Mod) , Great game on its own as well, if you like military simulators (Though it does have it's quirks). Pretty realistic flight model too, sadly I seem to be one in like 500 (Probably more than that but eh ) that can fly decently (In DayZ that is), Though I did play Arma 2 for like 2 years before DayZ came out, so I've had plenty of practice .
Pro tip: Don`t go to Chernogorsk or Elektrozavodsk unless you have decent gear.
Don't you mean the other way around? There's a high chance of being killed when going there, but new players should go there because of all the residential loot.

No, new players should head to the NE airfield. That way, they`re not risking anything valuable. But you can easily head through Elektro with a ghillie and enfield.

If I want to play with my mate that has Arma on steam, will it work? Seeing I am getting the disk, because we both want to play DayZ together.

Hope I'm not forgetting anything too important.

Good luck (You`ll need it).
