As of a few months ago, I've been having many problems/bugs with my Steam games & client that have almost killed my motivation to play anything on my PC. These problems include:
- Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod & other Source games not starting up, popping up a window stating something about the SteamStartup process of those games being in use by the registry. Also, those games randomly starting up perfectly fine the 20th time I try to launch them
- In-game community tab doesn't work in many of my games, even with my rebinding of the keyboard shortcut.
- Not being able to join friends' games, possibly related to the issue of the in-game community.
- Games deciding to verify their caches without me asking, making me wait 30-40 more minutes than I anticipated
I don't know if it was an update that caused all this, or if it's just my Steam client acting up randomly, but regardless I've been getting extremely frustrated with what was once a smooth, near-perfect client that has turned into a bloody mess. If anyone else has/have had these issues in the past, any help to fixing them would be appreciated.
Over the past month I have had more issues with steam crashing/disconnecting/closing/loading super slow.
I suspect its due to them getting linux functionality so their steambox will work upon launch. I started using the beta versions which does help though.

Thankfully, waiting them out is usually a solution.
