Honestly, if you act as immature as you do over the internet in real life, I'm not really surprised your parents don't let you play older games. At 12, my parents wouldn't let me play games, so I thought of a way around this. I acted more mature and eventually was playing 18+ games. If you want to be taken seriously in the real world, and over the internet act maturely, use proper grammar, and don't act as if your eight.
Yep, I wish people at that age knew how to spell. I will admit, I am a Grammar Nazi, I can barely read what he wrote. Anyone have a dictionary on hand that I can throw at him?
Oh hush. Call of Duty and Halo isn't all they're cracked up to be.
Hell. Super Mario Sunshine is unbelievably beautiful. And holds more a challenge than CoD does. So play that.
Or Portal.
Or some Grand Strategy game like Crusader Kings 2 if you think you got the brain power to master Paradox's habits of immense tutorials and try-and-fail-till-you-master game-play.
There's really a whole lot of games you're under-rating and forgetting that you can play at 12 and you really don't need to go do CoD, or Halo, or TF2. In fact, I'd rather you keep out of those communities until you're 18.

Exactly, I don't know why all kids think that they NEED Call of Duty or Halo, some games are E and are amazing. Sure, games are fun and some are really really good, but kids need to understand you arent cool if you have M games. Immature kids just dont get that games can be amazin, and not be bloody and mature. Little Big Planet, Mario, Zelda, etc.
I still hold this game up to be the most beautifully made and executed video game on the Gamecube. And nine years on, it has aged very well.
I'm sure there are a hundred games too just like it. Such as the aforementioned LBP you mentioned Dakota.
And Hell, if you want to be more relevant, there's Portal and Portal 2.
And if you don't mind the DRM, back-doors it makes on your computer, and its poor execution I would venture to say that Spore is another rather creative option to take for gaming.
Enjoy it. Being 18 has a lot more responsibilities. As a kid you don't have to work, you don't have to pay the bills or food, you get free stuff from your parents. You'l regret it if you waste your childhood on video games.
I am going to stick with with Minecraft and wait until my dad get drunk, XD. Just joking and I will enjoy my age when you can.... I don't know what good about my age, for example being control, get lots of homeworks, and have bed time limit.
My dad don't let me get anymore game like that after 2 GTA and because I get it to be a cop with the LCPD:FR mod(it a mod that let you be a cop)
Life gets even harder. As you grow older, you will wish for that blissful period where the only thing wrong with your life was not being able to play halo or CoD. that being said im 14 but the I.B. program is a big step up from my old regular course, and theres lots of personal problems with my life. seems that you get it pretty good.
To totally shoot down the "You'll look back and smile at your childhood thing" lemme add: I'm 21 and I have long realized I was a moron, and all kids are morons.
FYI, I'm 12 as well, and maybe if you acted more mature (as in, not like a whiny 12 year old) then you shouldn't have a problem. And trust me, life gets a lot worse than what it seems right now.
Doesn't matter how old you are. Being a human on this planet royally sucks.
The only reason being 12 (for you) is good is because you've got caring and loving parents and family. Otherwise, you'd probably be in state's custody. That sucks. You're not allowed to have a computer of your own or to drive. Not until you're 18. You'll be lucky to have a PS2 with a few scratched up games. Your foster parents probably won't really give a crap about you enough to try to raise you. And when you do turn 18, they'll just kick you out onto the streets if you don't have any support network. (foster parents, friends, etc.)
Not to mention the bad memories of having abusive parents (if that was why you got put into state custody). That is, if they don't lock you in a box and throw you into a swimming pool before Child Protection Services show up.
Or you could simply be born into some third-world country.
My point is, being a child is a lot worse overall than being an adult, because your life is a lot more circumstantial than anything. Sure, being an adult has a lot of responsibilities, but you're a lot more independent, not some kid who needs help.
Who needs games
take up an instrument and spend those 5 years learning it instead of playing games
it will be more rewarding than playing games
but really you better get ready get a job and prepare to go to a trade school or a college at 18 you are going to play a lot less games than you are now
Can someone tell me some good free online games I can play with my friends? Something like Minecraft or TF2.
Well, there's Flyff and Maple Story for mmos, Command and Conquer went free ware last year and it's pretty much the granddaddy of RTS games (It was starcraft before starcraft was). Doom and I think doom 2 also went free ware. Those are pretty dated but if you've never played them, you owe it to yourself as a gamer to brush up on your history.
Don't quote me on this one, but I think sim city 2000 also went freeware, look that one up before you go downloading it though.
Startrek online and dc universe are also free to play, though they are rather large downloads topping out over 15g, so make sure you have the bandwidth so your parents dont get billed extra. (I'm not a big star trek fan, but STO lets you pilot ships and run around orbital bases, for an mmo it's a lot more fun than usual.)
There's a game out there called world of tanks which is a lot of fun.
Also, don't forget to rummage around newgrounds. There's some pretty high quality games hidden amongst the drek.
You don't have to be 18 to play the cool games... I'm 16 and I do! I think that's just an excuse your parents make, so they don't have to buy you any video games Seriously though, enjoy being young while you can. Don't waste your childhood on video games, go outside and play.
Just buy them on steam, pirate them or show your parents you're mature enough.
My dad never cared about age limits, because he trusted that I'd know what the game was about and I could handle the content.

At least start getting serious by 14. By then I hope you'll have discovered some things you can do outside of vidya gaems.

Plus, if you have a brother old enough, just have him buy it for you.

Except you need to be 18 for a paypal account.
Also, like others said, being 18 is hard. You might have to assist your nation on military services.
Exactly.
