Uneventful= no big twists or character developments, it's just dragon genocide from start to finish.
Anti-climatic= the main quest's climax involves walking through fog and a fight with the dragon king that's actually easier than any other dragon in the game.
The guild quests are a bit better, bit they all seem to follow the same basic formula. You join the guild, do a couple of quests, superior members think you're special, rumours of a conspiracy start, you join the guilds elite, big bad thing happens that kills someone important, you kill a big bad guy that caused it, everyone loves you and makes you the guild leader, you do household chores for your inferiors.
Why does it say the developers of FO3? Why not New Vegas?
EDIT: I just realized how stupid that question is :P.
Anyways, yeah, Reddit's awesome and sexy and fun and all that good stuff.
I was actually wondering why it said Fallout 3, as Fallout 3 was released in 2008, while Oblivion was released in 2006. It would make much more sense to put Morrowind on there.
I like dragon genocide XD and you did just describe all the guilds quest lines, but then really, NEARLLY everything can be described and broken down in a simple way like that. I guess it is just a matter of opinion. How about we drop it, because i dont want to start a fight with you guys
So since we are on that topic, I'll give a short rundown of my opinion: I thought the main quest was lacking. While fun enough from a more casual perspective, when it comes to its design you'll see it was poorly executed, even with a good starting concept. Even with a rich backstory and lore to take from, it just ends up the same old hero saves the world from dragons; where's the substance? The Thieves Guild questline, even with flaws, was a vast improvement over the lifeless story of the MQ. And finally, doing it has no impact whatsoever on the plot. There is also no satisfying conclusion, no real event.
To me at least, the main plot has never been the best part of the Elder Scrolls games. In Morrowind I prefered reading Dwemer stuff and doing Hlaalu work to hunting Dagoths. In Oblivion I prefered stealing stuff for the Gray Fox than hunting down the Mythic Dawn. As such, I don't require, or want, the main questline to be better than others in order to fully enjoy a game. But I find Skyrim's main plot simply disappointing even to what it had to be. It tires me to cricticize, even if it's a good thing, so with that I close my speech.
On a more friendly matter... I lost everything I had done in Oblivion when my computer wiped, so I'm going to play Morrowind for a while. Any fun character builds?
4chan on Alduin
What, yet another decent franchise turned into a shameless WoW clone? No thanks.
That's right. Elder Scrolls are no longer mystical artifacts that tell the very fabric of creation, no, now they take their true purpose: a flag that when captured gives you +5% crit chance.
At the end of the day I don't see this bringing any innovation to the massive-multiplayer-online genre, and right now we have plenty of information to make that estimate. It is a similar case to Guild Wars 2 and The Old Republic, both of which had even more hype about how they were going to "revolutionize MMOs", but never did. Did they bring some changes? Yes, especially the former. But in contribution to video game design, it was a peeble compared to games like World of Warcraft or EVE Online.
