I think it was. Although I've never read that novel, but I have read another one, so I get that Lovecraftian feel.
EDIT: And yet another role-playing idea has turned up in my mind!
This idea will work as a variety of scenarios, due to the mod that is needed to play. (Don't worry Homem, there's a non-OBSE version as well!)
The mod needed is called 28 Days and a Bit by mod author Ryuujin. It is basically a zombie mod that allows different types of scenarios for Zombie invasions. You can choose whether the invasion begins slowly with one infected person, whether all of Tamriel is invaded by zombies in all cities, or whether the invasion begins in one city and spreads to the others.
A way to realistically incorporate this mod into the TES universe would be to have Mannimarco be behind the invasion. This playstyle can be started with a new character or an old one who is almost about to storm up into Mannimarco's lair.
With a new character you can pretend that it is years, months, weeks, or even days since Mannimarco defeated an unknown mage that was supposed to defeat him, or whether that mage did not fulfill his duty. You then have to survive while gathering an army of living to match his army of undead, (yes there is an option to have anyone join you as a companion) and take out Mannimarco by going to Echo Cave (you'd need to spawn the Echo Cave key though, as you need it to enter.).
With a character that is about to go and defeat Mannimarco, you could roleplay that a Mannimarco has set his forces upon a city and you have to save the citizens and evacuate them before they all die. THEN, you must defeat Mannimarco before he launches another attack.
There are many ways that you could choose to roleplay with this mod, and I must say that I congratulate Ryuujin and anyone who may have helped him on this mod.
Thoughts?
EDIT: Almost forgot the links.

No problem.
My Wood Elf Survivor started out in Anvil, but unfortunately, it had already been attacked by Mannimarco. He had to go on a long, 5 day journey just to find safety in Skingrad.
First, he banded up with Morvayn, the Anvil smith, who unfortunately was turned into a zombie. He then fled from Anvil to the Brina Cross Inn and met Arielle Jurard, a battlemage in training, and persuaded her to join with him. The next day they set off to Skingrad, but ended up being chased by zombies in the Gold Road and stayed for a day at the Gottshaw Inn.
However, the owner and corrupt Imperial Legioneer wanted to keep Arielle for themselves, and threatened to kill my Wood Elf, so they departed towards Skingrad the next day. On their way, they stumbled upon Kvatch, which was already doomed because of the Daedric invasion, and even moreso because of Mannimarco's army. The two survivors tried to evacuate the town's small population, but the majority were too scared to moe through the wilderness. As a result, only the town smith Batul gra-something came along with them. The weather started to get pretty bad, so the trio decided to spend a night at Kvatch. The next day, they found Shetcombe farm, and had to barricade themselves inside, as the zombies had already infected the owner.
However, the zombie broke through the barrier, and the trio had to defeat the zombies. Amidst the confusion of the fight, Arielle and Batul were infected, and the Wood Elf ran frantically to Kvatch to buy potions from Sigrid. He cured his companions, and the next day they reached their destination, Skingrad. Upon arriving, they saw that all was well in Skingrad. The town guard had kept the zombies and diseased out of town. They were let in and rented rooms at the West Weald Inn. However, Batul declared that she felt bad for leaving the survivors of Katch defenseless, and goes back to Kvatch. This dampens the survivors spirits, but they set off to explore the town.
After a couple of days, however, the zombies start attacking, and infect many of Skingrad's citizens. The Wood Elf befriends another town smith, Agnete the Pickled, and they join Arielle at the Two Sisters Lodge to barricade themselves...
And that's all that's happened to me up to now.
By the way, you are NEVER "the only one" in the internet.
This one will be the one who met my Nerevarine lots of years ago. I'll post his backstory later today though.
Travius Coppenhart is an Imperial whose mother and father were in the Imperial Legion up in Skyrim many years ago. His mother was a high ranking official, and his father, who was a soldier with a lower rank, did everything he could to try and get her attention. Eventually, they fell in love, but because Travius' mother had a powerful, wealthy Nord fiancee, and he found out, he corrupted officials to remove them from the Imperial Legion. They didn't care anymore though, and they had their child in Whiterun.
After a few years of the three of them living there though, Vvardenfell opened up for colonization, and they went and settled in Balmora. For many years, their child, Travius and his parents lived in Harmony. Travius was determined to become a Knight, and so he studied the art of the sword and bow. He favors Heavy Armor, and even studied the way of Destruction and Restoration magick. He, as an Imperial, already a natural at persuading people, and also picked up some impressive blocking and parrying techniques.
Anyways, while there was peace in the family, there was not peace between the houses. A small squad of Redorans attacked the Hlaalu guards in Balmora. There was a scuffle, and Travius' parents tried to keep the peace. However, a Hlaalu guard, who was enraged by Travius' father's meddling, lopped off his foot, leaving him crippled. Travius' mother was killed by a Redoran.
Since that day, Travius came to hate not the Dunmer, but the Great Houses, for their petty squabbling that ravaged the country, its citizens, and his family. His father could not cope with his wife's death, and spent most of his time laying around. He hired a nanny, who became like a second mother to Travius. Travius on the other hand, shocked and angered by his father's rejection, became highly rebellious. He joined the Twin Lamps with a few of his friends.
His activities were never too dangerous, but that changed one night, when they were contacted by a Twin Lamps agent told them that for a promotion, they were to free the slaves at a local egg mine on the coasts of the Odai River.
Some may know this place from a Fighter's Guild quest, and say, "But there are no slaves there!" This is because the mission was almost successful.
Travius and his friends released the slaves, but were caught red-handed by a Hlaalu guard clad in Bonemold armor wielding a steel longsword. With the flat of his blade, he knocked out Travius' friends, but Travius, afraid of being caught, pulled a steel dagger on the guard, and upon finding a chink in his armor, stabbed him.
For this he was arrested, and Travius regretted never being able to be understanding of his father or to say good-bye to him.
On the way to the Imperial Prison, (as it was Imperial Guards who decided the punishment) he escaped from the Legioneers' grasp and was on his way to Cheydinhal, when he met Crimson-Claw, the Argonian chieftain who was to become a Nerevarine. Travius, having found a best friend in Crimson-Claw, blurted out all that had happened to him. Crimson-Claw did the same, and the two established a bond they thought was unbreakable. For a couple of days, they kept on traveling to Cheydinhal, but were eventually recaptured by the Legion, who thought Crimson-Claw was an acquaintance of Travius.
Both of them were imprisoned, and as Crimson-Claw was released earlier, both thought each other was dead...
Travius, being released now due to the Emperor's death, has vowed to take this chance to become stronger before going to Chorrol. He is know doing good needs as he wants the to still become a Knight, and is a follower of the Nine Divine. Even though he is trying to become a Knight, he will break into houses, slaughter enemies, and do all kinds of Dark things for the greater good...
Or at least for what he thinks if the greater good.
(Maybe Morrowind was good, it was the only game I haven't played.)
I also prefered Oblivion but I think Morrowind was close behind. I mean, the quests/story were incredibly creative in Oblivion IMHO
Not to say the others don't have such quests, but I don't see stuff as good as Whodunnit or The Ultimate Heist or A Brush with Death (etc) on others. Just my opinion, no need to cricticize it.
I also like the world and politics more, but it's just my opinion. Oblivion is my second favorite game and I haven't played Skyrim, Arena, or enough Daggerfall to decide on those.
Whenever I enter the keycode, which is typed clearly on a white sticker below the CD (I bought the game from Fred Meyers, a retailer) into the Steam box to validate the game, and press Next, it always says it's invalid. No I didn't mistake the I's for 1's or O's for 0's, the code is typed clearly.
The keycode is always invalid when I try to enable the game.
It's really frustrating. It's my birthday....
Anyway, is it possible a pirate used a keygen and stole the code in my case? Please help. I contacted Steam Support, no reply yet, and my dad tried to help, read a bunch of tutorials, even from Bethesda itself, but nothing works. I really hope a pirate didn't steal my code....
The DB and TG are out of the question, and I barely know any magic except for Destruction and Restoration, so I'd feel out of place there. The Fighter's Guild would be my best choice, but the beginning missions are pretty dull.
Anyway I was wondering what mods I should get from the Workshop.
I've already decided the pet mod and bandolier mod, is there any other mod that's cool and useful?
Which game did you buy?
In that case go here. This thread is for the other games.
Not to be agressive in any way, but if you still thought that even after I directioned you to the other thread, it was your duty to at least read it.

It works so that you can meet powerful, tough creatures at any time, and yet wimpy ones will still spawn. For example,
I fought off some trolls, ogres, AND some Land Dreughs while hunting.
It also makes makes all Bandits except for the ringleaders be levels 15-20. They're powerful when you're barely starting out, but not so tough afterwards. The overhaul also modifies their weapons and gear so that they
ll only have low-level equipment. Bandits, for example will usually only have fur, chainmail, or leather armor. Marauders will usually only have iron or Steel armor. Their weapons will vary from mostly iron, steel, or silver. Finding armors such as Mithril or the other rare ones is really going to be an important discovery now.
Note however, that the author of the mod has integrated some recolors of armors such as ebony and dwarven to look more like steel. Also, the Mithril cuirass is used as a variation of chainmail. He did this in order to give bandits' a more diverse look. If you do not like these changes, you must use the Less New Armor esp included. If you installed the standard version and switched to the New Less Armors version, the retextured armor will still be on the bodies of bandits, but it will be invisible, so make your choice.
A word of warning. With this mod, the Deadlands will become a fight for your life every time you enter them. Xivilai will start to spawn even when you are level 1, and I suggest you start the main quest with a character who is above level 7.
Have fun!
