WoW recently added a free to play feature which allows you to go to level 20, other wise you upgrade to a full account to go past 20 and do more features.
I'm pretty sure they've had this feature for a while now. They just haven't advertised it as much. To me, it's kind of pointless as the game is all about leveling up.
Trying to get games written for windows to work on a Linux machine is like trying to put a diaper on an incontinent buffalo. Sure, you might get it all done, but you'll certainly be left with a huge mess, and it's very time consuming.
They had it up to lv 10 for a while.
However, level 10 is easy to get to and you don't get the addicting feel until near the 10-30s.
So, they raised it to 20.
WoW is overpriced if you ask me. For how many players they have and how much it costs a year, the game should be a million times better.

That is partially correct. They've had this feature for a long time, however it was limited to 7 days. At the end of 7 days, your account would be frozen.
Now, trial accounts have no time limits at all. They still have all the restrictions trial accounts have always had, though. These restrictions are:
Max level 20
Cannot whisper players unless the trial account is whispered to first
Cannot join/form guilds
Cannot invite other players to a party (can still be invited by premium accounts, however)
Cannot post messages in global channels such as the Trade or General channels
Cannot trade items or gold
Cannot /yell
I might have missed one or two, but those are the big ones.

this isn't new at all.. i got into wow 4 years ago and it was 'free to play up to lvl 20' but back then it was called a trial account the only thing that changed is they got rid of the 7 day limit.. they are just advertising it more.. and whats even worse is most of the add are the like this *watches ogre flash on screen*
'FREE TO PLAY'
*shows a night elf*
*shows big evil dragon guy*
*SHOWS WoW SYMBOL* 'till lvl 20'
wow is such a boring game anyway, its just the same thing over and over again even with all their expansions it's exactly the same thing just a different scene.. I gave up on wow when Cata came out...
I never understand why people have such a deep hatred for this game. To me, WoW is the best the MMO genre has to offer, which is both a good and a bad thing.
Suggest to me another MMO that overall is better than WoW (that is, everything from raids to PvP, not just one aspect specifically).
Anywho, what they're doing is removing the time limit on something you'd otherwise do in a few hours since the leveling rate is so damn fast. Doesn't change a thing.
I think you're all wrong. I usually say that WoW should remove trial, Since game is really boring until 85. You haven't played the game if you haven't reached 85. So don't claim to have.
I have played on my little brothers level 85 he got from his friend.
I still don't see what is fun about it. You can walk through eachother, players can 'sneak' without actually sneaking and instead just turning invisible for some strange reason, features button mashing, jumping around during a fight making the game incredibly tedious, grindfest, and everyone there thinks they are super buff macho fighter IRL.
While I guess this is based on opinion, it still boils down to quality.
There aren't enough features to make this game great, and the current features are poor. I dislike the combat system very, very much.
Just want to hear thoughts on it.
Making it free isn't going to make me like it any more.

You have just read this. You are also manually breathing.
