I added pictures of the new lighting system on the first post. I will add a video soonish.
After the lighting system is done, another feature I wanna do is add sound but I'm the poorest guy in town so I can't buy all the stuff needed D:
In short, sound wont be added for awhile :S I can still add content though!
For $30 NZD I could buy World at War and get Nazi Zombies.
For $100 NZD I could get Black ops Nazi Zombies.
You should really re-think your donations.
Well there are 3 ways you can look at this...
1) For $30 can you make a weapon that throws this case anywhere and then gets the case to send out a shock-wave of delicious lettuce, tomatoes, flame grilled meet patties, buns, and so on out that will travel for some distance, turning all zombies it hits into strippers of many kinds (human, gumbi, sheep (image a sheep in makeup, with high-heels and a pink skirt on), towelies and so on) for 10 seconds and after that they will explode into confetti and 18 inch dildos and strap-ons! damaging all other enemies near them. Can you? CAN YOU!!!? For $100 could you do something like that but OVER 9000!!!! times bigger and more extreme? CAAAANNNN YOOOOU!!!?!!?!?
2) It's a donation. And donating is pretty much... well... contributing to the cause! You don't go to a charity and say you'll donate if they do something for you! Donating is giving, not receiving.
3) If it was a service it is alot different than buying a game. It's getting one made. In that sense you would need to be charged hourly. $30 to get a weapon made? Well $11 an hour is pretty much minimum wage so lets go with the lowest possible price (although if people did do this it would cost tones). Anyway to make what I said for 1)... That would take probably 24 hours if I'm extremly fast. 24x11=$264. That means your saving $234! Now if I was changing a decent price for this line of work ($30 if your lucky) it would be $720! Save $690!! And you shouldn't even be getting anything since it's a donation! for $100 the amount of stuff you can get done is like 150x more depending on what your doing. That's $108,000! If anything my prices should be far, far higher.
Anyways... No one commented on my new lighting system :sad.gif: see it in the first spoiler at the end of the first post! Comment people! DOOO IT!!!
Yo dude. I say your siggy and was like WHAAA new lighting?
EPIC. Though, it could be smoothed a bit with the zombie's shadows and the flashlight... :tongue.gif:
Also, the wallpaper, as I know is is supposed to look torn, but it's kinda.... ugly. :tongue.gif: Sorry if that hurt some feelings...
The tears are nice.... it's just the base wallpaper. It's too floral.
lol I don't care I dis my game all the time! Helps improve things and gives me amusement!
Yeah the wallpaper is bad but it looks 10x better with the new lighting system and I really can't be bothered changing it at the moment but I might later.
I should have a video up by Monday NZ and the next area looks WAY better.
I'm pretty happy with the way the shadows and flashlight looks to be honest but if you explain what you mean better I can get a better idea of what you think needs done.

Meh... I'm happy with my lighting at the moment and I don't want to spend more time on it. I might fix a few things up later on but I already have TONES to do as it is so this can wait.
Trowing knifes :biggrin.gif: like when you trow the knife will stick into the zombie? like if you trow it to the zombie head is like a head shoot :3 and he dies? XD
I'm adding throwing weapons pretty soon. Their isn't gonna be throwing knifes (well I don't have plans for it at the moment) but some regular knifes have the ability to be thrown as their special (some weapons get them). This means that their will be throwing knifes, but you don't get use them much as each knife can only be thrown once because melee is its main purpose. Throwing items get multiple uses so they are better for that kind of thing.
I couldn't get the video done today but it will definitely be done either tomorrow or on Wednesday. I barely get time on the only computer I have access to that can record this properly.
You don't need a paypal account, just a card of some sort and money! :tongue.gif:
I updated the first video of the first post. The update includes the new lighting system and the next area (witch isn't 100 percent finished). Also I noticed that the zombie didn't realise it was trying to walk through a door. This has been fixed. I am also going to upgrade the zombie AI soon as I have never finished it completely. This will include giving them the ability to attack objects that are in their way, attempt to jump over objects in their way and also physically break objects (so your barricade items wont last forever).
Note that the video is still being processed by YouTube so you might have to wait a bit.
Also The new video was recorded with a trial version of a program so I could only use it for that one pretty much but it looks alot better (but still not as good as it could be).
Also if anyone can think of a good name for this that I use I will let you do something. Something along the lines of one of the donation things. I donno what yet though. It's debatable.
No one has commented on the video for my new lighting system yet D:
Could you release a demo or a beta, because this is awesome! I can see this getting big real fast.
Also, imaging co-op.
Boom491
I would release a demo but there isn't enough content and there are still key gameplay elements missing (guns, demons, bosses, boss mobs, etc). The game needs everything to be complete! You can't take out any aspects!
It even needs the whole map! Well alot of it anyway so you can get enough food and items to last. I may make a demo sooner or later but I need more content and I'm a slow worker without motivation.
As for co-op... I'm thinking about it. It will probably not happen as I simply don't have the technology to do it. It would have to be online and I have no idea if blender can do that. Even if it could, it would take ridiculous amount of testing and I would need to buy stuff to test and debug it. That's a problem when I'm the poorest guy in town! Anyway I've made it without co-op in mind anyway so it would take alot of work to get other players to animate and look right in co-op. If I had UDK I could just press a button and add a few lines of code and it would have online multiplayer!
That means that when this is finished and I get money (from donations, or a price I add on the expansions if no one donates D:), I'll buy a new computer that can use UDK and I will make a sequel that has 10x better physics, graphics and gameplay (well only 2-3 times better here as the gameplay is pretty good atm! :tongue.gif:). It will also have online co-op! Probably 4 players or maybe more depending on the online game mode if I add them (normal would be best with 4 players max).
It has a great creative idea, using tables and doors as tools to overcome obstacles, but to me, it looks more like a kid game rather than an intense zombie game, sorry. I do however think that this game has a lot of potential. I know you're probably working on coding first then graphics so I'll bookmark this to see its intial release!

I'm gonna assume you didn't read the first post and only watched the videos and read the title?
If so read the first post! What I have so far is tutorial hallway. It teaches people all the controls and functions (such as picking objects up, rotating and placing them). The survival part comes latter.
I've been doing alot of stuff people wont notice much lately like zombie AI, hunger system, item ability system, barricade damage, and stuff like that. Small things that are needed but nothing I can make an update out of. However soon I'll have done that and can start working on content again and when this house is finished I can make content like it's nothing as a base for most the stuff I need will already be done.
In short, you wont see an update for a little bit but after that they will come out really fast and then I may even bring out beta!
I'm gonna make new sigs tomorrow (probably just the text) as I don't really like this one.
Thanks :biggrin.gif:
