So I played Terraria yesterday and iv'e got to say............I don't like it.
I just don't see why people like it. Theres really no death penalty as long as you put your money away, and all your items are carried with you into multiplayer and other worlds, so you can just have people give you **** or steal it and your basically set. The building isn't as good as minecraft obviously. I was super excited for this game and was disappointed that its only available for windows, and then I was disappointed again finding it wasn't really that great.

War is where the young and stupid are tricked by the old and bitter into killing each other. The good people die, and so do the bad ones, but the weak people, like me, we have inherited the earth.
It has the same death penalty as minecraft? Put your **** away, and you will be fine.
No when you die you keep all your items except your money.

And in Terraria there are traders and shizz that make money useful.
You know what other game has that?
If you guessed Minecraft, you would be wrong.
Only Terraria is that pointfully well-made.
there is also no death penalty in minecraft (unless you call walking back to the place where you died a penalty, but most of the time your going there anyway)

The economy is already ruined in Terraria because of hackers.
No when you die you keep all your items except your money.
Correction:You lose half of each coin.
I think Terraria is too easy to pirate. People can just find a download, put it on their computer, and play online, with no steam account.
EDIT: Re-read the RULES ABOUT TERRARIA THREADS.

Or you can make a new character, not take stuff, or make people not give you ****. This can be easily avoided.

Oh yeah? How so? Just because it's in 2d? There are a lot of blocks you can use and many many ways of creativity in this game, things like not putting walls at certain places to act as background windows.
Some people hate losing all of the items they were carrying on death. Others prefer it. Same with the game being more focused on what you can make/imagine rather than it having set goals.
As for me, I like both.
Terraria reminds me (at times) of Serious Sam mixed with Castlevania with the ridiculous amount of enemies that are onscreen combined with the fun accessories and tools you get like the hookshot/gravity potion.
If you don't like the death penalty, play in Hardcore mode. As for the rest, I like the fact that you can take items to other worlds. Say you wanted to go boss hunting. It would be a pain in the ass to have to get full Necro and a good sword again. and it wouldn't really be nessisary. Ehh I might sound like a Terraria fanboy, but everyone keeps compairing it to minecraft, and even though they are similar, they are very different as well. Minecraft is too different to be complaired to Terraria, and if you start playing, hopingfor a minecraft copy, you will be dissapointed, where as, if you play looking for a fun game, you will have a blast.
I'm a tester of Terraria, and, honestly, I like Minecraft 10 percent better. I mean, Redigit is a good programmer, but it's not how he programmed it, it's how he planned the game. Minecraft let's you build better structures because it's 3D, Terraria let's you do more fighting because it has more enemies. So, Terraria is based more on fighting it seems.
Both are really great games.

how the hell is it suppose to catch you off guard, if your mining and hit lava you just block it up its so slow, ive also heard you can use buckets of water to stop yourself from burning, so you could just carry one of those around to make it even less likely to die from.

If you try to block it off it will go around and possibly burn you. Lava also burns your hearts away fast.
I got the game, loved it, play the heck out of it for like two days, modded like crazy and now I don't even play it, weird eh? I should have got something more of my time

Hardcore mode. Once you die, it's deletes your world, I think. That or you can't spawn anymore.

Its basically single player WoW in 2D.
Tbh its pretty fun while the content lasts, which is not long sadly.
CLICK FOR EPIC IDEAS (not from me)

Both are really great games.
You never know if lava will catch you off guard.
