Emulation isn't exactly what I was talking about. I was talking about porting games directly from the Xbox 360 to the PC (and doing a half-assed job of it), which is way too damn common amongst developers these days. Sure, the ports have much better performance than an emulated Xbox 360 game would, but it's still extremely unacceptable how poorly they run.
Prey was on the Xbox 360 and the PC port ran quite smoothly on my computer, even at full settings. Fallout 3 ran somewhat fairly, at about 30-40 FPS at the lowest settings. Now, system requirements have skyrocket too damn far while the actual quality of video games have not really improved.
A game like GTA IV and Test Drive Unlimited 2 should run silky smooth on my PC at full settings. But they run at 20 FPS, even on the lowest settings. And that's all thanks to the developers and publishers have practically whored themselves out to the consoles. They might as well not offer a PC version in the first place, but they do, and that's an even bigger insult to PC gamers like me. I don't have the money to get a Sandy Bridge type of computer. AKA Intel Core i7. And a top of the line GPU. And tons of HDD space.
Here's my specs for those who care:
-Windows 7 Home Premium
-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (2.5 Ghz)
-nVidia GeForce 9500GT
-3 GB DDR2 RAM
-320 GB HDD
It's a Compaq Presario, but I replaced the power supply with a more powerful one and installed the 9500GT.
Your processor and graphic card is kinda weak, if you want to run the latest high end games then you gotta upgrade soon.
Even my laptop is able to run GTA IV smoothly and it does not even have a i7 core (and is still cheap).
OT: All the halo games, Final fantasy 13 (for some reason) and Read dead redemption.
