So this is the end?
Just 2 games?
Gah, i want more portal!
Valve confirmed DLC for portal 2 and custom mapping support, even for the PS3/360 versions. As for Portal 3... i don't know. I feel that the story of Chell is over now.
And given that
portals can only be placed on surfaces coated with moon-gel
, the likelyhood that Chell would run into any of these surfaces on the surface are slim. And judging by the ending cutscene,
Chell doesn't even have a portal device anymore. It seems like it got sucked off her hand when she was briefly on the moon.
I could maybe see them doing a Portal 3 with the Co-Op robots, or maybe a story based on somebody other then Chell "finding" the Aperture Science facility (Portal 2 dialog shows that they've even prepared for somebody "discovering" the facility in the future), but idk. Valve isn't going to make it unless they can build a good story around it.
Besides, there will never be a Portal 2 sequel. The game will just have a lonely, lonely cliff hanger.
Did you even play it? Everything was nicely wrapped up at the end of the single player campaign. What did you expect,
seeing Chell go off to find civilization and start a family? There was no cliffhanger there. She's free of the facility for good. Everything is resolved.
And if you didn't know, the Co-Op campaign picks up where the single player campaign left off. It's nowhere as deep of course, but you get to see what goes on inside the facility after the end of the single player campaign.
There is a SLIGHT cliffhanger with the Co-Op ending, but there is nothing lonely about it. In fact, techno dance music plays the entire time!
That's still up for debate. Chell is obviously asian but Cave and Caroline are white as snow (judging by their portraits scattered throughout the game). She might be adopted though, as even GLaDOS claims she is.
Edit: wait, where did you get the ###'s from? Is that on a clipbord or computer screen in the game"?

Sorry, not finished with the videos yet.
When she just got released for free, I thought she had no where to go. It seems like that because all there was was a field.
And I guess I didn't hear what Glados was saying, was kinda noisy at the time.
Oh, and sorry I'm don't have superior knowledge of this game. I didn't read the Wiki......yet.

You should really just get the game... So much of the story is told through the in-game dialog that you are gonna miss a lot unless you watch a video playthrough of the entire game. Some areas actually have "nested" dialog that can be missed if you (or the person making the video) leaves the area, or misses a positional cue. (for example, after you escape Wheatley's trap he yells at you to come back. If you leave the area and come back, he gets suprised and starts making up a bunch of reasons for why you should just jump into the pit on your own. I missed it my first play through and was surprised with his 2-3 minute rant when i accidentally found it on my second play though).
Besides,
your main goal in both games has been to escape the facility. Why would you consider achieving this to be a cliffhanger? The wheat field wasn't supposed to imply that the entire world is gone and there is nowhere for Chell to go (GLaDOS mentions seeing people on the surface earlier in the game), it's supposed to be humorous. The entire area is just an inconspicuous wheat field, but below there is a GIGANTIC facility that nearly exploded. Besides, Chell isn't alone. She has the Companion Cube!)
again, just buy the game and don't watch the videos. You shouldn't judge a game unless you played it. That would be like me saying Mass Effect 2 was a bad game because i didn't like a low-quality youtube video of the final cutscene.

Hmm...maybe I might buy in the future, but I'm still going to watch them. And how was I judging the game? just by saying the ending was a cliff hanger? I can now understand how it isn't now, but in no way was I judging the game.
All right i've been thinking.. when life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade, MAKE LIFE TAKE THE LEMONS BACK. GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?
The first time I used the Aerial Faith Plates.. I died of awesome.
Then, after I beat the singleplayer.. I realized how little space VALVe gave us to fool around...
It was all "Here's the spaces you need to place your portals, just find the pattern in which you place them."
Ah....Portal 2 is going to take a while to get over. It's one of those games were it was that great, you can't get over it. And that song...it just slays me.
Now it just makes me kind of sad that the days of Chell is to an end. We may even get what we have all been waiting for, Episode 3? and then maybe that will come to an end. I'm telling you, these games are just going to come to a sad end, but will leave with a bang.
just finished the game today, the ending was awesome, but when i heard that
the conversion(Portal) gel was made with moon dust,
it was AFTER i beat the game, so when i was actually listening to it the second time i played it, i felt really dissapointed ._.
and i haven't finished the co-op yet, so i'm hopping it doesn't confrim that blue(or "atlas") and orange(or "P-body") won't be going on some adventures in portal 3,
also, i just realized that
the charred companion cube you got was the one from the first game,
but that was probably already obvious for you guys...
I wonder if people read my posts in a Wheatley voice
Eh, not at all probably. Nope.

Don't jump to conclusions... While Chell might be there daughter, several things are wrong with that theory.
First of all, this is impossible if the current timeline is correct. Chell would be in her 20's during the "take your daughter to work day", but we can tell that she is still a child by her handwriting on her science project in the game.
also,
- Chell is asian, but Cave and Caroline are white with no hint of asian-ness in them (judging by their portraits).
- The translated song at the end of the game doesn't directly translate into "daughter". It its an ambiguous statement that can be interpreted as "my daughter", "my darling", or "my dear".
Hmm...maybe I might buy in the future, but I'm still going to watch them. And how was I judging the game? just by saying the ending was a cliff hanger? I can now understand how it isn't now, but in no way was I judging the game.
Well in another thread you said you "hated Portal 2", which is pretty judgmental imo..

I just got Portal 2... I guess when it installs I first gonna play Portal with my new video card, then gonna play Portal 2... I'm already thinking with portals! :DDD
P.S. I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive!

Ohohoho you know Gabe, he can only count to 2.

I was disappointed that it only lasted 6-8 hours, I wish it was longer, the single player that is, the co-op is fun and will easily add 4-6 hours.
That is a twist isn't it?
I remember GLaDOS was saying you were 'adopted' as a surprise, I guess you aren't!

How do you know she is Asian?

Well, I used to be too doubtful on the game.
