Also, Snake0567, I've been meaning to play Amnesia, how is it?
It's story isn't too easy to follow, but it's real freaky, that's why I like it. Basically the whole game is you running from something evil, I don't want to give away spoilers.

ITT Children/People who don't even play scary games.
There are MANY, MANY games scarier than Minecraft. Particularly some examples already listed, like Silent Hill and Amnesia.
Although Amnesia's scare factor was kind of soiled after watching an LP of it with some british sounding lady narrating.
Honestly, Minecraft isn't scary at all. There is a bit of tension when exploring caves because you have to hide from monsters, but it's not actually scary.

I doubt Black Jesus riding a cloud to Earth, slapping the nerdrage in the face, would stop the nerdrage. Ever.
I used to get scared s tless by minecraft, but now the only time i'm really alarmed is when a creeper is in my base, or when I'm playing a personal mod I made for myself to add challenge to the game(Freaking monsters spawning with no limits, etc)
I think it's funny how Minecraft still is the most scary game i've played, and how others who play more disturbing/scary games with no problem are just freaked out by minecraft.
For instance, there's a person on youtube (SeaNanners, I'm sure you know who i'm talking about here) who just comments on Call Of Duty games, starts just talking like "You know, as I'm shooting this guy's head off, I'm reminded of pumpkin pie. I love pumpkin pie!" whereas if he goes into the nether in minecraft: "OH GOD, JUST GET ME OUT OF HERE THERE ARE FREAKING FLYING JELLYFISH SHOOTING FIREBALLS AT ME"
So, yes, minecraft is and probably will forever be, one of the most scary games I have ever played.

As a person who loves FPS particularly FEAR, Doom, and others mentioned, I can say that Minecraft is scary in the sense that FEAR or Doom is scary. Not cause of blood and gore, or whatever, but because of ambient sounds, and the effect that something popping out of no where has on a person. Its not scary like "I'll have nightmares" scary. Its scary as in "**** you jumped from behind the corner and made me **** my pants" scary.
Sure Minecraft is scary, but not so much because of it's atmosphere, monsters, graphics, etc. It's that kind of "oh, I don't wanna die, because I'll lose all my awesome stuff" thing. So to me it's the fear of losing all my resources and aren't able to find it again.
To answer your question, YES I find other games like Penumbra 1 and 2, Amnesia,... much more scary than Minecraft. But nonetheless Minecraft is still scary to me.
This to infinity.

Zombie pigmen will organize into well-coordinated search and destroy teams with weapons open, and creepers will develop the ability to determine certain eigenvalues of the voxel-based matrix that is the minecraft world.
Play deadspace 1+2. that will change your mind real quick. :smile.gif:
I'm guessing it's scary to the people who have not played other frightening games.
^This.
Also try Amnesia and the Penumbra Series.
This is a peaceful game to me. Even on hard... As somebody said Amnesia is way scarier but even that isnt really scary. Just freaky as hell

I didn't really think minecraft was scary.
Freakin creepy!
I'm taking the hint that I should avoid Amnesia. I want to play it, yet don't at the same time. Is the demo any good?
Also take into account than I'm 14. If a (presumably) grown man can only play for 20 minutes at a time, I doubt I'd last very long.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
Damn Beardmouths.....
The demo is pretty good, they even changed the Demo-Levels a little bit. Just give it a try.

Those are two different kinds of scary.
