Lately, I’ve been working on a 100% completion of SSBB, and I’m getting close, but there are some more difficult achievements that seem to require a good understanding on how Smash AI works. The 100 Man challenge is a good example of this. While I’ve beaten it with Kirby, Marth, Meta Knight, Ice Climbers, and other good characters, I’ve still got around halfway to go. My worst characters for this challenge are Ganon, Jigglypuff, Luigi, and Samus. I’ve also done badly with Captain Falcon for some reason. But that isn’t the problem. While taking them out is a walk in the park at first, the AI adapts, and that last 25 to 30 depending on when they do so will stop at nothing to combo you and knock you off the map. Faster and physically strong characters with high knockback been able to take them on and win, and Meta Knight completely destroyed them after his second or third attempt. All of my characters except Ganon and Jigglypuff have exceeded 80 kills, which is pretty good. However, I wanted to ask anyone who knows a lot about smash; can you give me some tips about dealing with the AI? Competitive Smash is centered around outsmarting a human opponent, but AI and human approaches to the game are inevitably different.
Actually, I took a break from Brawl for a few weeks since I was struggling so much and burning out, but I can give you an analysis of which characters I've struggled with most in 100 Man Brawl, for starters. Luckily for me, playing For Glory on Smash 4 has taught me a little about strategy and outmaneuvering the opponent(although I still lose the majority of the time), and I hope that will make a difference when I come back to playing Brawl. As a warning, my analysis is based mostly on my experiences with these characters from my perspective and my personal intuition, and is definitely flawed to say the least. I don't know many of the technical terms for competitive smash, and I hope to use this analysis as a learning experience for myself on how to improve my playstyle and what I'm missing. It can really be overwhelming trying to keep up with all the competitive terms and all of that and takes up a lot of time I don't have on my busy life schedule, but what little I did pick up comes from the Smash Wiki and a couple Melee tutorials I watched while I was sick this week.
Let's start with the elephant in the room of smash characters. I think casual players like myself and competitive players can agree on one thing; Ganondorf is by far and away the worst character in Brawl. The tier list is controversial and I'm sad but also not surprised to see Kirby on the lower end of that scale(I started playing as Kirby back when I was a child on my cousin's Smash 64, and he is the second best on that list, which explained why I thought he was so awesome), but I can understand why the best and worst characters are where they are on the list. But most characters have redeeming features that make them formidable in the right hands. As for Ganondorf, even someone as unfamiliar with the more technical aspects of Smash as myself can tell how horrible he is. All of his attacks are really slow, especially his up-tilt(I'm glad the wiki pointed that out because I couldn't figure out why he was doing a normal up A attack some of the time and the up-tilt the other half of the time), and his recovery is one of the worst in the game. Because of this, I think I'm just going to have to give it my all for Ganon and hope that I have a streak of luck and beat the challenge with him one day.
Next is Jigglypuff. Although the sheer distance it can cover over all five of it's jumps is downright incredible, Jigglypuff is light as a feather. I think that if I can take advantage of those long distance jumps as a form of recovery and possibly use the strategy I used in Cruel Brawl(jumping under the stage and recovering on the other side, repeating the process over and over), I may be able to keep Jigglypuff alive long enough to finish the challenge.
Luigi has an amazing up B smash that I love, but his regular attacks don't do much damage. He may have an average to above average spot on the wiki's tier list, but unless he's in the air he doesn't do much knockback to the Alloys. So I guess I need to capitalize on the high ground more with Luigi? Samus can do a lot with her up-B spin attack and I tried using the down B falling explosives to keep her in the air and that worked quite well for me. However, I can't just keep spamming up-B forever and it can be difficult to keep up later on when the Alloys get really strong.
Captain Falcon has the second fastest movement speed in the game next to Sonic, but Sonic has the springs to use as recovery. Falcon seems to require skill and is quite good, but it's usually hard for me to keep up with his fast paced movement and that has led to me accidently miscalculating jumps and dying quickly.
I will probably need to read more about these characters on the wiki, but I just wanted some insight from players who have personal experience with these characters and can give advice to me based on my situations in the game. Thank you for taking the time to read this and helping me out. I really appreciate it. Any insight you all can provide will be extremely helpful.

i'm guessing you already looked up a lot of guides about the spots you get hung up on?
