Ever since I joined in the forums, I was reading different kinds of journals posted by various players. I was always curious to what other players are doing in their worlds. Actually, I'm more interested to what their worlds look like. I've read several journals so far and most of them are simply dying too early for several unknown reasons.
There are several journals created so far but some of those are either forgotten by time or dumped into the deep section of the forums. I know necro-ing threads is bad, but some of the worlds I searched still has magic left in them.
Yes, I did some search for prominent survival worlds and I'm going to post it here on this thread for my own personal collection and others to read as well. Many of these are already considered to be dead but you can prove me otherwise. Since I'm looking for interesting and read-worthy worlds/journals (not just fresh starts or potential ones), I have set a number of requirements/qualities that a certain survival world/journal thread should have:
I use these as basis for the list I'm going to make. Seriously, I'm not going to list everything that I read. The qualities that I'm strictly searching for are the following:
The journal/world should have at least 1000 views
Your thread must be acknowledged by 5 or more people
The journal/world should at least have 5 updates present
The thread should last for at least 20 posts (Note: I am not counting spam posts/ridiculous double posts by the OP )
If the thread gets at least 3 out of 4 qualities, then I'm listing them here. Else, I'm ignoring them even if they have what it takes.
I'm doing this for my own personal journey of looking for players dedicated to their worlds, the same players who are dedicated on surviving and thriving at the same time. In this game, it is not how you survive but how you do progress.
Anyways, I'll be including vanilla and modded worlds. The list will be updated from time to time and is also open for potential worlds once they fulfill the requirements. The list is not in any particular order and will also include dead/inactive worlds/journals.
You can suggest me some journals if you like, so long as they fit in the requirements or at least have potential (I'd still wait for them to fulfill my requirements though).
EDIT: Instead of placing the date of the last update, I took Adversity's suggestion of separating the inactive threads from recent ones. Also, forgive me if the spoilers have doubled. The spoilers seem to be buggy today.
Also, I'm moving threads to the inactive spoiler once they didn't update for about a month. That's all.
Glad I could help. I'm going to continue searching for promising worlds (or wait for them) and I hope I can come across that journal your'e speaking of.

I don't think you need to go so far as putting the date a thread was last updated(would be a pain to keep current), but separating the active/current worlds with inactive/dead ones(from like 2 years ago) would be fantastic.

This forum has made me decide that I now want kids, so that when they get old enough, I can forbid them from coming here. it's a terrible place.
I'm a bit surprised to see one of mine, since I've never been able to consistently update them after I get all of the initial base building and other stuff done, usually just making occasional posts in the "what have you done recently" thread (for example). Another one I made is "TheMasterCaver's World", detailing a world I made to test out the mod of the same name, although once I built my base and defeated the Ender Dragon I more or less forgot about it and posted in the aforementioned thread instead, though given how detailed I make my posts there (among the longest you'll find) it isn't because I can't write but don't post that often (as I'm sure it wouldn't be that interesting if I detailed every cave I explored, which is mostly what I do when playing; I only post when something exceptional happens; my last post describing what I did in that thread prior to the example above was all the way back in November, more than two months between them; a similar dilemma has prevented me from making any sort of journal for my first main world, as I'm currently playing on, though I'm sure I could make a very long and detailed thread if I gathered every post I made about it in one place, as some others have done when starting a journal for an existing world).

I don't really mind if the thread doesn't update frequently, so long as it actually gives enough details/story about the update. I find most of your post very intellectual since they thoroughly explain the concepts of the game, which is good for people who wants to learn more about the game.
I also make occasional updates in my own journal every now and then. Usually, I just put some updates that is somehow worth reading. I don't usually put pictures of everything I do (although I tend to put a few random pics sometimes) or write about something that doesn't need explaining. Writing a journal doesn't really require one to post an update on a scheduled basis. It's up to the writer when he wants to post something.
Last thing, would you mind if I add that world in this list. It passes my requirements and it would be a good addition to my collection:)

Thanks for the suggestion! Honestly, almost every of these are inactive. I edited the post temporarily but after some time, I have to permanently organize it (as soon as those spoilers get fixed).
To my surprise, I found out that some of the journals I found have messed up formats or non-existent pictures. I'm quite disappointed by this, as I discovered that koreyisawesome14's journal had non-existent pictures. I'm afraid I have to remove that one.

Might as well update this thread, I'm including two recent vanilla survival journals by VictoriaRachel and eldon, Removing koreyisawesome14's journal due to broken image links (unless he fixes them somehow). You can check out the new entries in the first post.

Only two modded Survival journals? That almost feels a little... depressing. There is Empour's "Archipelago of Manasteel" and Dulciphi's "Dulcified in a Hostile World," although I believe that those are at 3 & 12 entries, respectively. Empour's computer is apparently broken, and I think Dulciphi converted to a server (which may also explain Zeno's lack of updates.).
Weird, I thought I added Dulciphi's world and Empour's other world. (Sigh) I need to go back to search for them (Seriously, I've been having problems with editing the first post. First, it was the spoilers, then it was the edit changes not being saved).
Also, now that you mentioned it, I think none of them are updating for the moment.

You should take my journal off of the inactives. I'll be updating here in a day or so. I took a month break but I'm back again. Been working the past few weeks on some things and I've finally got some stuff to put up.
Need a good universal mob farm? Check out the Double Shift Towers. Designed for 1.9 and gets 22,000 Items / Hour with a very simple redstone set up - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jL8aoJpjjgU
I'm Srsly_j, this is my new account (forgot my old account details), but i'll have a journal up within the next day or so with a big first update if all goes to plan! Nice to see my previous 3 on here, even if none of those worlds got near finished :'(

Recently, only a few (or none at all) players have started a journal with extensive redstone mechanisms. Somehow, I missed reading things related to redstone and automations (which was the part that I really liked from the journals that you two made). I wish the other guy (Voxels) would somehow update his latest journal.

Ah well then you'll probably enjoy my next update, building a double blaze farm. The blaze mechanics changed quite a bit and have become real annoying since 1.8 and it's been a tough task because of it. So it needed quite a bit of extra redstone contraptions. It's not done yet but I have the concept figured out I believe

Thanks for the correction, I'll transfer TheMasterCavers' journal tomorrow.
I'll try your suggestion if I find some free time tomorrow.

The BEST way to mine diamond, layer 12 and you.
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
