I'll be leaving too. I started RP on this forum, growing from a simple casual to a half decent intermediate and I'm going to miss it. I made a lot of friends in the two years I was here and to all of you, thanks.
Thats a good one! Im trying to make a speech, then hire Morgan Freeman to recite it.
YE CANNAE COMPREHEND TE HOUSE OF LIES TAT FLOWS BETWEEN THEM. SHUT IT.
Oh well, thankfully I'm the only one savage enough to cause chaos once the only hardcore RPers leave, and even then I'm too bloody lazy to get on with it.
I dedicate my departing musical choice to the men and women felled unjustly. May they live better lives elsewhere, and may we reconnect on the great plains of the Internet.

Bye bye PoWers. Fare thee well on your continued misadventures.
Errybody else? Try not to turn this place into a dumptruck of casual ar pees thanks.
Consult NegaScott, Robbhus, and Solawind for your intermediate needs. If you can convince any of them to make something.

Try not to bug me and Lugia for hardcore material.
Given a right setting and scenario, our posts fill up an entire page (at least how much you can view through your desktop).
Oh yeah, we're screwed when the next flood hits. 'Cause we've got a team of intermediates and a tiny group of hardcore RPers, against a whole horde of casuals and beta-maxies.
Damn, they just had to leave instead of ignoring the tyranny of MCF, like the rest of us did.
Quality makes Hardcore, not quantity. My posts will always fill a page regardless of most scenarios unless i am forced to answer a question in a brief amount of time. IF you need to boast about quantity, you are not doing the RP thing correctly. Arrogance will only put yourself below others.
I use the screen length to measure the appropriate post length but quality is always my main concern.
There will not be an issue if there is another 'flood', all we need to do is to approach it correctly, letting people know that they should join a couple of RPs before creating their own and teaching people what sort of information is appropriate if they want their RP to survive.

I'm not being arrogant, but at the same time I did fail to bring that up in my earlier post.
Mainly because I'm lazy, and deleted a sentence about that out of apparent common sense.
Anyway, welcome to the club, and hopefully we're not gonna rely on the relics of the PoW crew. Otherwise we're clearly not prepared for this, and are best following their example.

No need, they're doing it themselves. The flood is the most concerning bit of business, as it means someone charismatic (or at least manages to catch attention of a whole load of people) has managed to convince them that spamming RPs are the way to go.

So today, nothing much is happening.
To be honest, PoW never really had a much of a grasp on the RP section. All they did was RP alongside us, but that was kinda it. That and giving RPers advice, with a gleaming example of an actual hardcore RP giving them ideas.
As usual, I have no clue what's going on, here. So far, this is all meaningless to me. Is there any significant enough negative effect upon me that to make me care, though?

Really depends how long you've been here and your experiences within these grounds. If you're new and stay casual you wouldn't mind RPs moving at a hundred miles per hour where you have to read 5 pages the next time you log in because all interactions are one liners consisting of a single sentence and a single action that doesn't really tell you much, then no, it doesn't affect you.
If you feel that people could just be a bit better at wording their sentences and it irks you to some end that people don't put effort to convey thoughts, feelings, and actions effectively, then yes, it would probably affect you.
Compare:
"Hi!" Bob says. He waves at the stranger. - So Bob said hi and waved.
With a cheery voice, Bob says, "Hi!" He waved energetically as the stranger approached, an eager look in his eyes. - So Bob said hi with happiness and cheer, his energetic waving betraying his excitement as well as the light in his eyes.

While I'd prefer people write detail, I don't mind. As long as it's not stupidly simple and doesn't convey anything. I even switch between the two, depending on laziness and if I've got time. One minute I'l post a big paragraph, the next I'll post a few sentences. But none of this gives enough concern to do anything. Now, if my bar got a massive flood of super-casuals, then I'd get worried.

Is it weird that the 'bigger' version of cloud's demo post is still tiny to me? Anywho, the PoW crew will be missed by some, but we have to move on. New hardcore Rpers must rise up and take their old positions, though, it's doubtful that any of us will end up as a moderator.
Weird, given that at least two of them used to be moderators. If it gets too bad, then, sure I might just join that guild... I just don't like being the new guy again.
That example by CloudJhi is terrible, literally a 1-liner with a narrated 1 liner reversed and slapped on the end. I could have made the point better with a couple of frogs, pancakes and interpretive dance. Anyways, if anyone was interested in expanding their posts it is really about adding actions, not adding fancy words.
"Hi!" Bob says. Bob waves at the stranger. - So Bob said hi and waved. Nobody uses says. Nobody narrates their actions after doing them.
With a cheery voice, Bob says, "Hi!" He waved energetically as the stranger approached, an eager look in his eyes. - So Bob said hi with happiness and cheer, his energetic waving betraying his excitement as well as the light in his eyes.
Nobody narrates their actions after doing them. This is still a one-liner.
If we wanted to expand this, we would add several more actions, such as Bob scratching at the dirt with his shoe or casually nodding before heading on his way once more. You may want to add Bob's approaching the stranger rather than just standing still and letting the stranger do all the work or perhaps add thoughts running through Bob's mind, why is he talking to a stranger, what is it about this person that is bringing Bob to actually respond rather than ignore this crazy and head on his way?
If you are only posting a small amount of text just to give someone else a chance to respond then you should reconsider your playstyle, you should easily be able to give more detail about conditions such as weather, location and mood. By adding conditions you give readers more information about how they would respond while also increasing your post's content.
It should always come down to quality, what if in 100 years someone is reading your posts and trying to work out the story, all they get is usually two people talking, they don't know what their surroundings are nor why those two people are acting the way they are. This reverse is especially true if you add conditions such as weather, people can see why you are swatting flies out of your face or why you are rubbing your hands together over a fire.
In unrelated matters, people here (everyone in this forum section) should understand that everyone is allowed to post in this discussion thread, not just those who frequent it. If you have any RP ideas or just questions about RP in general I am pretty sure they can go here, don't feel discouraged to speak up.
But, of course Sol. This isn't a PM, it's a regular thread, meaning that it's open to all. Heck, I sure don't consider myself a frequent user of this thread, OR a hardcore RPer.
Before the thread was remade i felt that it was a chat party and i wasn't invited. I don't want RPers to feel this way. Asking questions is the quickest way to learn around here.
Anybody interested?

It all falls down.
Relax; your friend [REDACTED] hasn't been talking to me for a while anyway, much less anyone else. No need for dat protect for the anonymous fellow.

We must return the famed Neilsaur and his crew.
Nah I kid. No need to raise the dead even if we don't manage fine. I just miss the oldies like Thanatos who got me into Intermediate.

That and the general frustration of MCF RPs.
