I made my last app for a long while. I've been planning it for ages. It's a doozy.
I don't plan on creating another character unless inspiration hits me.
App:
Name: Hannah
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Gift: Light-based psychometry
Hanna-Creation and manipulation of “hard” light and “soft” light.
Hanna creates “hard” light in the form of hollow, translucent rectangles. Her constructs are about as strong as glass, although the strength of the construct varies depending on concentration involved. The sides of the rectangle can be extended or shrank at will, and at great speed. Constructs will float in the air or obey physics depending on the intent when created, and are selectively permeable upon creation. A construct will only keep its shape and strength when focused on; otherwise it will fade away.
Hanna creates “soft” light in the form of a liquid, semi-gaseous light that flows like water through the air. This is used to repair objects and heal people. The light uses telepathy to tell what should be fixed, so if none knows how to repair the object, or the target of the healing feels the wound belongs or doesn’t want it gone, it is ineffective. For example, Hanna wouldn’t know how to fix a broken car, so she can’t repair it with her Gift. A scar someone has had for a long time or a wound that holds personal significance cannot be healed because the target may feel it belongs there, so the healing is resisted.
Annah – Creation and manipulation of “soft darkness and “hard” shadows
Annah brings forth “soft” darkness from any available shadows. The soft darkness expands and usually takes the form of a sphere, enveloping objects completely. Within the darkness is a complete and total lack of light. Anything within this area is completely blind, with the exception of Annah, who can sense everything within the dark area with perfect clarity. This is done through a telepathic sense, rather than sight.
From inside this soft darkness, Annah can form her “hard” shadows. Her “hard” shadows have the appearance of pitch-black tentacles of pure shadow with a physical form. While these shadows can be moved freely inside of Annah’s darkness, they can be extended a limited range outside of the darkness. These tentacles of shadow are extremely strong, and Annah uses them for malicious purposes.
Weaknesses and limits:
Hanna and Annah switch control several times a day, and a great number of things contribute to a switch and how long one of them stays in control. When one is in control, the other is conscious, aware, and can feel and see everything that the other is experiencing, and can think to the other, and also fall asleep while the one in control is awake.
Hanna loves sunlight and any other kind of light, but has trouble seeing in the dark. Her eyes adjust very slowly in the dark, but Hanna can see perfectly fine in even very bright light. Sudden exposure to darkness is disorienting for Hanna, and can lead to a switch to Annah. Dim light also makes it likely for Hanna to switch.
Hanna’s Gift only works where there is light, the brighter the light, the stronger her Gift. Her soft light only works with strong illumination.
Annah only feels comfortable in near to total darkness and hates bright lights. It hurts her eyes to be exposed to sudden brightness, and she will often switch to escape the light. Annah’s eyes work very well in the dark, but adjust slowly to light. Bright lighting makes Annah more likely to switch.
Annah’s Gift only works where there is darkness and shadow. She cannot create her absolute darkness without a shadow, so her hard shadows cannot be formed either.
The more Hanna or Annah uses their Gift, the longer their switch will last when it happens. Sort of a like a cooldown or resting period.
Appearance: Wears cat ears in memory of Fluffy.
Annah
Hanna
Personality: Hannah is Hanna and Annah at the same time: that is, they are split personalities of each other.
Hanna is constantly cheerful, upbeat and optimistic. She is selfless, kind, and generous, always willing to lend a hand or cheer someone up. Hanna loves to help people and will go out of her way to do good deeds. She is extremely energetic and active, especially in bright light. A neat freak and perfectionist.
Annah is the complete opposite. She is pessimistic and cynical, apathetic at her best and downright sadistic at her worst. Annah is selfish, hurtful, malicious, and only does things for her own gain. She is extremely sadistic, and takes great pleasure in other people’s pain. Annah is quite lazy and sloppy.
History:
Hannah was born an only child to a normal middle class family in North Carolina, USA. She lived in a large, quiet, peaceful suburban neighborhood. Hannah was devoutly religious and went to church every Sunday with her family. She would pray every day and night, and say grace before meals. She had a loving mother and father, and many friends growing up. Hannah was fairly popular in middle school and hung out with friends often.
When Hannah turned 12 during the summer after 6th grade, she started to change. Normally happy and sociable, she would sometimes shut out her friends for no reason and stay inside, alone. Feeling increasingly charitable or nasty at times, Hannah’s behavior would deviate wildly between donating to charity and helping the homeless to stealing things from goodwill and abusing animals.
Hannah would undergo drastic mood swings, going from buoyant and chipper even at inappropriate situations to hateful and grim for no reason. Her moods would get worse and worse as she got older. Hannah would go from depressive to hyperactive, and spend weeks at a time shut in and sleeping or go several days without sleeping at all. Her depression got to the point where she would self-harm to feel calmer. It didn't help that her parents were going through a divorce.
A few months before her 14th birthday, Hannah decided she hated her kitten, hated its messes, hated its smell, hated the attention and care it demanded. Hannah hated her kitty and wanted to be rid of it. Flufffy was taken out back, dismembered, and fed to the neighbor’s Siberian Mastiff. Piece by piece of fur covered kitten was thrown over the fence to the jaws of Killer. A few minutes later, Hannah came to her senses and was horrified by what she had done to Fluffy. Staring at the kitten blood running down her hands, Hannah decided she needed therapy. She told her therapists about her problems and was diagnosed with bipolar, antisocial, and borderline personality disorders. Her parent’s divorce dragged on.
On the morning of her 14th birthday, Hannah’s parents told her to go for a walk outside. They were setting up a surprise party to make up for what they had put her through during the last two years. As Hannah was walking past her neighbor’s house, Killer broke free from his chains and smashed through the chain link fence. He had rabies, and was ready to kill anything that moved. Hannah screamed and made a protective motion with her arms, covering her face. Her Gift manifested that day, creating a barrier around her that held off the rabid beast long enough for the owner to grab his dog’s chain and drag the beast back. The owner was too busy with his bear-sized monster of a pet to notice Hannah’s Gift.
Amazed at her newfound abilities, Hannah spent the rest of the morning playing with her powers before she was called back inside by her parents. SURPRISE! All of her friends had showed up for her birthday. Delighted, Hannah sat down at the end of the long table, where her candle-adorned birthday cake was waiting. This was amazing! She was a Gifted and all of her friends and her parents had made a surprise birthday party for her. Hannah’s friends all sat down at the table expectantly, the blinds were closed, and the lights shut. The only light in the room came from the candles on her cake. Feeling happier than Hannah had ever felt in her life, she blew out all the candles at once.
As all light was extinguished, Hannah enveloped the room in true darkness and inadvertently read the minds of everyone in the room.
Her dad was thinking about celebrating his anniversary with his girlfriend, who he had been seeing for the last 4 years. He was relieved that the messy divorce was finally over and he could get rid of his weird daughter with all her personality problems.
Her mom was thinking about all the money she would get out of this divorce and how bad taking care of her daughter would be versus the money she would get for taking custody. Ehh, the mom figured that she could always throw her over emotional, needy daughter at one of her distant relatives and disappear with the money.
Her friends were thinking about how bored they were with this whole farce of a party. They really didn’t want to hang out with Hannah anymore, after all the rumors and things going around school. Her “friends” only came because Hannah’s parents were paying them to come.
“The whole party was just to make me happy so that the divorce would go smoothly.” Hannah realized. “No one here wants me, loves me, or even likes me.”
Even her cake was the cheapest thing available from the bakery, which explained the shoddy icing. Her name wasn’t even spelled right, it said Annah.
Annah snapped and killed everyone in the room with tentacles of shadow, impaling them to the walls and ripping out their cold-hearted entrails, spraying internal organs across the walls. Annah saved her parents for last, tearing off each of their limbs one by one before separating their heads from their torsos. That done, Annah sat back down and enjoyed her birthday cake. She sliced and served with knives of shadow and neatly consumed her blood-spattered cake. Blood dripped from the ceiling and ran across the icing, adding spots of color to the otherwise blank white icing. This is where the party’s at.
All the while, Hanna could only watch as Annah slaughtered everyone she loved and cared about. When Annah stood up, her chair hit the blinds and let in blinding rays of sunshine, allowing Hanna to regain control. Crying now, unable to believe what she had just done, Hanna ran from her house and into the city, where she lived on the run as a homeless person for several months until the police tracked her down. She was captured, but Annah broke free in the police station and killed most of the officers as she escaped.
ETG was interested in this and approached Hannah. Cleverly, they presented themselves as a simple research organization and offered to restrain Annah. Hanna jumped at this and willingly let herself into custody to protect the world from Annah.
Annah breached containment several times, but was recaptured successfully each time. Containment procedures were updated.
Hannah is around 16 now. Currently, she is contained in a 20 x 20 x 15 foot glass room. Powerful paneled lights are installed in the floor, walls and ceiling to ensure next to no shadow exists within the room. The room is furnished with very basic furniture made of clear plastic. Hannah is permitted to wear a tight-fitting white jump suit under the promise of good behavior from Hanna and Annah. Loose clothing has led to breaches in the past, and anyone entering the chamber is strongly advised to wear tightfitting clothing. Due to the extremely bright lights, Hanna is much more prevalent then Annah, and often cooperates with scientists to study her Gift. As a result, Hanna has grown very skilled with her Gift and can form constructs with excellent accuracy.
Whenever Annah is active, (as shown by Hannah’s extreme unwillingness to cooperate) researchers are advised to leave the room, and under no circumstances bring in anything that might cast a shadow.

Impressive wall of text, isn't it?
For those thinking "TOO MANY WORDS", I summarized.
Hannah, 16, female, telekinesis and telepathy though light and darkness. Telekinesis for physical light/darkness, and telepathy for non-physical light/darkness. Hannah is two personalities, Hannna and Annah. Hanna is nice, Annah isn't.
Hannah is not OP in my opinion, she only has one Gift: psychometry of light or the absence of.
She can only use half of her Gift at anytime, and only if there is enough light/darkness.
Now I sleep, I'm so tired.
Apps should be submitted here, and accepted apps posted on the IC thread to announce it is accepted and part of IC now.
I'll change the main page to reflect this when im not sleepyzzzzz
So essentially she has two powers - chaos manipulation and bipolarity.
Chaos as in light and darkness. Not lack of order.
And no, although I'm thinking of bringing back Marcus Hendrick from the ORIGINAL original RP. The one run by that dude with Leo. Yeah, I was in it since way back when. Marcus had two powers, although they paired together - one of them was super stretchiness, and the other was the ability to turn his limbs into weapons made of his own flesh and bone. They looked bony, bloody, and rather distorted. You can almost think of himself as an Alex Mercer ripoff, except with the power to streeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch.

Is there any person who has metal arms and legs who can morph those limbs in weapons?
No, but there is someone who can cover their body in metal, someone that can shift their body into any material, and a robot. So ehh not really no.I wasnt there for the old old RP: that is the one before the City
Still, I'm not exactly sure if I'm gonna be bringing back Marcus. SERIOUSLY thinking about it... but I'm not sure.

Name: Sai Loren Age: 19 Gender: Male Gift (Power):Sai has metal arms and legs, able to turn them into many weapons. Weaknesses and Limits: Sai can't move fast and it's hard for him to move his arms and legs as they are made of heavy metal. Appearance: Sai naturally has brown hair, which is currently dyed blue. He has white colored eyes and tan skin. Sai wears a long trench coat, a black t-shirt and blue pants. He doesn't wear shoes as they get ruined after an hour of wearing them due to his gift. Personality: Sai has a very upbeat almost comedic personality, he will try to make many bad situations into something humorous, And tries to slip in and out of accents on a daily basis. One of his most well known comedic moment was when him and another person went on a hike and they got ambushed by wild animals, while the other person was freaking out and asked Sai what should they do in which Sai replied. "I forgot we were hostin a party! Did you bring the hats?" Much to the displeasure of the other person. History: Sai was born in the city, a normal happy baby boy. As he got older he noticed it was getting harder for him to move, and his arms and legs appeared to be getting harder and shinier. At the rip age of 13 his gift finally came to fruition. When the ETG attacked Sai was one of the few not to be captured, kind of hard to move a gifted who's weighed down by heavy metal limbs and can smash your head in when you try and steal his lucky charms. Sai almost missed the boat to Brinkhaven, but they waited long enough, they could understand why Sai took so long. Equipment: Trench coat(Black), T-Shirt(black), pants(blue)
You know, I always get rather happy whenever somebody joins this roleplay. Because that means this RP is getting more and more popular, and now... now it even has it's own wiki page.
