Walter stood waiting by the door to Noah's house for a few minutes before calling, "Noah? Are you there?" He again waited for a few seconds before muttering to himself, "I guess he's gone off somewhere. He must not want to come then."
Walter jogged back toward the group of friends waiting at the barrier, when nearing them he shrugged and called out, "I don't think Noah's coming." Once he had reached the group he asked "So, are we going now?" He glanced toward the ominous forest and turned his toward the ruins, feeling nervous but at the same time adamant. He was going to go see the world with his friends, to him nothing could be more exciting.
"Don't be upset, Aria. I'm here to protect us, remember?" Sienna smiled weakly and gave her friend a tight hug. "Guys. Before we leave, don't you think it would be a good idea to come up with a plan?"
Noah's not coming? That's a shame. Josh thought to himself. He took the spear off his back and planted one end in the ground. He scratched his chin with his other hand, feeling the hair of his small stubble of a beard. He then rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, Sienna has a point. Should we sit down and try to make an official plan before we head out?" Josh asked. He may have some hunter experience but they still need a plan if they wanna stay alive for long.

"Why isn’t my life like a situation comedy? Why don’t I have a bunch of friends with nothing better to do but drop by and instigate wacky adventures? Why aren’t my conversations peppered with spontaneous witticisms? Why don’t my friends demonstrate heartfelt concern for my well-being when I have problems?… I gotta get my life some writers." ~Calvin, Calvin and Hobbes
Walter looked at Aiden, he had the feeling that Aiden wasn't going to say what his plan was at the moment. His friends did have a point though, but they would have to leave soon before someone sees them hanging out at the barrier and tells the elders. I can't help but wonder what Aiden has planned for us. Walter sighed, "I don't think Aiden will tell us the plan anytime soon."
Starting to catch some of Aiden's impatience and not feeling like arguing, Walted said in a defeated tone "Fine, where are we heading to first?"
"Does no one understand the seriousness of this?" Sienna straightened up and frowned. "Does no one remember that there are actual monsters in that forest that want to kill us? You can't keep the plan a secret!" She looked at her other friends in the circle. "I can't be the only sensible on here."
"You guys can back out if you want to," Aiden snapped. "But I'm going! Have fun trapped here for the rest of your lives!"
He stomped off towards the barrier.
Walter watched Aiden storm off into the wilderness, He will get himself killed by going alone! Walter thought. "Hey, wait up!" Walter shouted before he jogged to catch up to Aiden, at which point Walter turned around and shouted, "If you're coming, then lets go!"
Walter turned to Aiden, "I understand your reason for snapping at the others, but this hasn't been attempted before as far as we know. The others are just trying to be safe, we don't want anyone to be hurt or even killed out there." He said this with an overall air of calm, getting angry wouldn't help here.
"I've been planning this for a year now and we've all been talking about it ever since we found the map, haven't we!?" he yelled as he kept walking. "If you guys don't wanna see what's out there, that's fine, buy I'm leaving even if you guys don't want to. You don't have to come along but I've been training day and night to get out of this place!"
Josh withdrew his spear from the ground and stored it on his back. He turned around and jogged towards Aiden. "Wait up!" he yelled as he approached Aiden. "I've already said before my loyalty to you was stronger then to the elders, so don't you dare leave without me." he snapped, then he continued to walk by Aiden's side. "Sure, this is crazy as hell, but life in the village is already boring enough. Besides, Aiden needs someone with some form of monster killing experience." Josh thought to himself, his boots crunching the dirt beneath them.

"Thanks, Sienna." Aria sniffled and wiped her eyes with her sleeve "We're... we're all insane, and very possibly suicidal. We're just very loyal idiots I guess." she said and changed her form into one of a panther before chasing after the other two. I'm weak, the weakest out of the group. At least mentally. No one else seems to be putting up a fuss over leaving their families yet I'm here crying like a child. I need to change.
"Yeah, hmmm, guess so," responded Sienna. These people are insane, she though to herself. Then, They're all going to die. Sienna jogged up next to the others wordlessly.
Walter took a deep breath of the fresh air, This is so exciting, and terrifying, and exciting! he thought. Who knew what was beyond the ruins? Perhaps treasure or monsters, Walter shivered slightly at the thought. What could they possibly be like? They could have sharp claws and fangs, or poisonous barbs and a mouth that could swallow you whole. He tried to calm himself down, It won't be that bad he assured himself.
Walter glanced over at Josh who had caught up, still feeling nervous he asked Josh, "What do you think could be out there?"
Josh turned his head towards Walter. "Oh, I've seen some things I can tell you about. One of them are giant spiders. They are pretty easy to kill but their venom is deadly. I've also seen packs of wild dogs. Most of the time, they'll leave you alone. But if you find one that foams at the mouth, kill it from a distance. The most interesting monster I've seen so far though, is a human like one. They look like us, except they have no legs and no hair. They have four arms and can crawl at high speeds. But I assure you, I've heard stories from other hunters about more, dangerous creatures." Josh responded to Walter. A mosquito swarmed around Josh's head before he brought his arm up and slapped the side of his face, killing the mosquito. "These mosquitoes are annoying, aren't they?" he muttered.

"Stop scaring the others," Aiden snapped. "Naked men crawling? I've never heard of that one... Well, we'll be able to see for ourselves, now aren't we?"
He stopped when they reached the edge of the barrier. It's almost been a year since I last set foot outside... He turned to his friends. "From now on, we'll have to start running until we get to a tall building. We can hide in there so that they don't find us. The moment we pass through the barrier, the villagers'll know that we've left. Any questions?"
"Yeah, mosquitoes are excessively annoying." Walter said through the lump of panic forming in his throat. How can they be so calm? Well, I haven't been outside the barrier and some of them have. Calm down Walter, if anything comes for me or our friends, I can just blow them away.
Walter turned to Aiden, "It was my fault, I asked after all." The tallest building caught his gaze, So that's our destination. I guess it is safer than the ground. I hope it is still stable. The panic was starting to die now, being replaced by curiosity. There were so many new things to see.
Walter adjusted the way his bag sat in preparation for the run. It's time to go soon, time to leave he thought with an air of finality.
"What're you guys going on about? I told you what we'd do," he answered, sounding annoyed. "You think I've got every step of the way planned? If so, you're wrong. We're going out into the wilderness where anything could happen. We don't know what else could be out there. If you guys aren't comfortable with that, now's the time to quit. You have 10 seconds to leave if you want to before the adults know what we're doing."
He kept his hand right on the invisible barrier and stared at the others menacingly. "Any more questions?"
Josh followed the group to the barrier. As he dug his boots into the ground to stop, he had many thoughts. "Well, this is it. A new life ahead of us, with danger in every corner. I just hope none of us die on the first day." Josh took in a deep breathe and exhaled, trying to keep his calm. He quickly darted his eyes at his friends who were coming along. He straightened his posture, trying to look confident for the sake of making everyone feel better. His blue eyes locked on Aiden. "I'm ready when you are." Josh stated in a tone mixed with confidence and fear.
