What I'd like to see right now is a short-lived RP. I'm not really in the mood for something that could potentially last months - I want an RP that will last maybe two weeks before reaching a definitive conclusion. I know there's already a surplus of RPs at the moment, but I've already been considering two - neither of which would be strategy/civ because I'd like to branch out from my usual fare like Precipice and the others.
One would take place within the Precipice universe, but I'm afraid that might make it inaccessable to people who know nothing about PoW. The other one, that I'm actually leaning towards, I don't have much to say about at the moment.
I guess what I'm getting at with all this is that I'm wanting to know if anyone else would like a short, individual-character RP.
When I first got into RP'ing I took part in an RP version of Werewolf/Mafia. That was pretty enjoyable and simple enough, and could last only a couple of weeks before resetting. I tried posting it around on the Sporum for a while in the early days and had some mild success.
Finished Virgil, finally. It's basically Spiral with better name and a sort of story to it along with a new Bot type, better rules, and a multiple player mechanic. You may remember them from another RP of mine!
Despite just being spiral modified, it has quite a few new things including a shortened version of each race/bot data sheet for those who can't stand going through pages of info on my imaginary friends aliens.
The fruits of my labor, finally available to the public!
Now to make pictures for every race/bot type. SHCs and humans will be easy, but I'll need to make the aliens from scratch expect for the Qvin gorgenmast doodled for me which i'll trace in illustrator.
You can nominate it for the spotlight if you like, oZode.

The moral of these stories? Play God, and there is a 100% chance you will be mauled to death by leopard men.

The hardest part of an RP, at least in my opinion, is providing enough information for it to be playable, without taking so long that people lose interest. That's really what killed my Fallout RP. So I think what we need now is a simple, quick RP. It could even be a one-liner, to make it more generally accessible.

My name is Ozymandias, king of kings. Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair.
I see what ya mean. I have 7000-10000 fricken words on the Virgil OP, but I try to make it easier to go through by giving short versions of every race/machine type along with a longer extended version.
Although it's no short-term RP, so if you are looking for that you may be disappointed.

One day, there will be someone who looks at my signature and wonders "who gives a damn?"
I'm thinking of making a sic-fi RP. IT's set in my own little universe I've been making up during last year (doodles and **** in my notebooks.) While you can go for the backstory, it's pretty much, "command a spaceship and do whatever you want."
But what really kills RPs is if they're long and complicated. People just say "**** it" and leave. That's probably why the "0mg ur a n1te in a m4gikl for3st wif lotz uv mag1k pow3rz!!!!1!!1!11!one!" RPs are so popular. Nothing against magical forests, but that was just an example.
A simple sandbox-type RP? Be careful, a lot of people on this forum are solipsistic when it comes to their characters.
I personally (as weird as it sounds) don't think my RPs are as complex as some people are making them out to be, I just spend way too much time elaborating on the playable races although I feel like that if I don't at least explain for 2 paragraphs about their government/tech/appearance/beliefs that they feel lazily made.
Until some people want a complex sci-fi RP, I probably will just from now on just make simpler RPs to compete with simpler RPs though app standards may shock some and I will probably scare off everyone.'
I wouldn't worry about any RP I make conflicting with yours; your RP seems to be more focused of being in space while I like focusing on the alien worlds and futuristic worlds and the exploration/conflicts with them.
Maybe an RP based off the story arc ideas I had from Sagittarius? I'm too burned out to think of a new idea from scratch and I always liked a couple story arcs I had from Sagittarius and am sad that they never went through to completion.
Hell I could instead of making a couple "uber complex RPs" I could just draw from the lore from Virgil and Sagittarius and make a bunch of those RPs.
What I usually do is a ****-ton of space. If you look at it now, there aren't any habitable worlds that we've found. In the future, we'll probably terraform, and that takes time. But you'll be floating around, finding space stations and tiny mining colonies, etc.
Also made a simple RP for the heck of it, although App standards are still mid-level due to requiring people who will stick to their profession and not godmod/powerplay their way out of every situation. I don't wanna see astrophysicists who are equally capable of shooting the scary alien monster as marines are for example.
I really hate those who applies with one liner on everything. So annoying. And I get tremendously annoyed when they get accepted. Normally, my biographies are way too longer they should be, but then it comes by a lazy ass, put half line and gets accepted?
Out of that, I normally look for medium-advanced roleplays, my level IMHO. Surely there are many who goes for low-medium, some for medium, some for advanced-expert. That's their taste. If english was my first language, I'd go directly to very complicated ones.
I wonder if anyone here could possibly get accepted for an RP where you gotta make a paragraph per facial feature.
Expression wise or full facial feature wise? If I bullshat enough, I could do a full paragraph for every change in a guy's face for his expression. Would likely involve redundancy over the movement of wrinkles, but I could.
In the end though, no one would want to read anything that in-depth. There's a fine line between being descriptive, and being Super Stephen King .
In my little imaginary world Virgin Galactic becomes a serious corporate space travel company beyond just tourism after a CEO change.
They start doing stuff like mining asteroid fields, researching better spaceships, funding high-priority projects to go to alien worlds and all that jazz.
I actually think it has a some amount of feasibility to actually happen.

Robots are fine. Seeing as Google has a brain that can recognize cats at the moment, it's not too far fetched to have androids and UAVs. Robots are the future.
I was actually planning on having Prussian troops be issued combat hatchets or something like it, but it'll be a while until I make a post where they actually cut someone down with it.

But melees are rarely seen in Precipice, I think.
