Jonathan sighs sadly. "I'll give you food and water, but I can't let you see your mentor. It's a secret that he's alive, only the three generals or assistant generals here know about him. He gave me this to show you though, said to tell you to trust me, I'm on your side," he says and holds up the silver oakleaf necklace of the rangers. "I'll give you whatever food you want that I can get and some ale if you want that too," he says and looks over his shoulder. "Need to make sure the general doesn't see you I without chains on, otherwise I'd take them off, sorry," Jonathan says.
((Dang it! He is being so nice, but I know he is lying. He is too much like jonathan morgenstern aka Sebastian from the mortal instruments. I don't want to trust him.))
"I'll take the food and water, but that could easily have come from Aragrim's dead body. Ask him what my horses name is. No one else knows that. Tell me when you know and I'll believe you." I can't help but be distrustful. I'm locked up in a enemy camp and have two people claiming two different stories saying they can help. If I had just a little more training I would be able to take these guys.

(Oh my gosh I hate him!!! I'm actually going to be making a shadow hunter roleplay tomorrow and have it posted within twenty four hours if you would like to join.)
"I'll ask him about your horse so I may gain your trust," Jonathan says and nods to he apprentice solemnly. "Is there anything you want me to tell him for you? He's been anxious and worried about you and I told him I'd do my best to make sure you were taken care of as best as you could be," he says and moves to the door quickly. "I want a banquet of food and drinks sent to this room for me to dine with the apprentice," he whispers to the crow outside who nods and rushes down the stairs to tell the innkeeper. "Tell me, how long have you been apprenticing?" Jonathan asks out of pure curiosity and doesn't bother to hide the feeling.
((Heck ya I'm gonna join!))
I look at him. He really is being nice to me. "Only a few years. I learned quickly and I'm strong, but I'm not as strong as Alena. I know How to use a sword since my father taught me. I haven't seen my family in a while, but I'm hoping to return home once I finish my training. I have most skills of any ranger I can shoot a bow I can throw knives and have close combat training. The usual."

"Interesting. Well, I grew up in araluen, but my parents were murdered. They were killed by some of the araluens army's soldiers. I fled and made my way to the borders of hibernia and crossed over to get a boat here to gallica. I couldn't stay there. But lets not talk about me, I want a friend in you. The general can be a terrible man, hurting people left and right. Alena can be cruel when she wants to be but I didn't know she did what she did to you. I'm sorry about that. What do you want to talk about, or shall I just allow you to eat?" He asks as the door opens and the innkeeper comes in with some trays if food and two jugs. He sets them down quickly and leaves not looking back.
I look at Jonathan. "If it's ok I would rather eat alone. I just have a lot to think bout. You understand right?" I look up at him. I really do need time to think. I need to compare stories and plan my next move.

"Of course, I recommend the ale here, its amazing. I won't be able to pick up the dishes, so please don't get yourself in trouble or hurt. If feel like I was the one that hurt you," Jonathan responds standing and nods to the apprentice before leaving. Upon exiting he shakes his head and makes a disgusted face. "So close," I murmers so nobody hears as he walks to his room.
(I think you underestimate the borders, distance, and time completely.)
As our horses strode forth, I glance up into the distance to find Skandian villagers on the horizon. I look back to our company, they all looked weary of travel and eager for warmth and comfort. "We are here." I announce to them, my voice cracking a little in excitement. They all look up with encouraged spirits and together we urge our horses on and continue into the town to greet our allies.

Erak smiles broadly as the group comes into sight so he can see details. "You're alive! All if you, that's great!" Bellows erak and motions for the group to dismount and the villagers to begin to take care if the weary travelers. They begin to bustle back and forth and work to make the tired group comfortable.

Jonathan runs his hands through his hair. He smiled too. "What a stroke of luck that the old ranger carried a journal," he smiles as he tosses it back onto Alena's bed and heads to his room. He enters carefully glancing behind him out the door as he does so and smiles over at (what's shadows characters name again?). "I talked to your mentor. Told me the horses name was (enter horses name). Now do you trust me?" Jonathan asks going to sit in front of the apprentice with his legs crossed. He moves the plates away so he can see the apprentice easily.

Jonathan smiles inside by doesnt say anything at first. "'We'? You two are leaving soon? She must know that if she leaves the general will hunt her down and not be kind to her at all when he catches her... Huh. I can't go with you, can't go back to araluen and can't leave the general. He's been like a father to be," Jonathan says keeping up the act.
I look at him. "Ok I understand. I don't see my parents much so I know the feeling of not having them around." I lean in close. "Thank you for all you have done." I lay down and try to sleep.

"Is that all you know about Alena? Well and truly?" Asks Jonathan anxiously. He had had enough handling this guy and he was gonna be done soon enough.
