This is an intermediate level, original, fantasy RP and the world it takes place in is a vast and mysterious one with legends and mythical beasts living throughout the lands. Your role in the story can be whatever you wish as long as we don't have too many duplicates and it isn't OP. I want you to understand I will not allow the flawless ninja or the decked out battle tank. Your characters will face powerful foes, they will be injured and if a stupid mistake is made, possibly killed. Lore
Novamterra. A world where magic meets science and myth runs alongside reality. For years, it's inhabitants lived in peace but like everything good, it couldn't last forever. As each kingdom grew, they began to bicker and slowly the tension built. Before long, war was declared, a plague that would ravage the lands for centuries and start an arms race like no other.
The humans mastered technology, using electronics and runes to power cannons and steam golems. The elves mastered magic, becoming powerful mages and summoners. The dwarves became great warriors, armed with the finest weapons in the land and the strongest fortresses of any of the kingdoms. The merfolk took hold of the sea, learning how to manipulate their element at will and push back invaders. The kitsune became masters of stealth and speed, cutting down anyone foolish enough to challenge them.
The final kingdom, the goblin empire, couldn't stand up to these new threats which slowly pushed against their borders. In a final act of desperation, they summoned a great evil capable of turning Novamterra into a horror filled wasteland. This evil was known as Mortigom, a powerful demon who corrupts all he touches and puts fear into the hearts of even the bravest warriors.
The sixth kingdom fell, and from its ashes came an army of darkness. The remaining kingdoms became worried and realized that if they were to stop Mortigom, they must ban together and stand as one. With that, The Fellowship of the Star Gems was born. Becoming a Warden of the gems was considered to be one of the highest honors that one could ever receive and it was not something to be taken lightly. Lead by the Fellowship, the five kingdoms pushed back the darkness and overcame Mortigom, sending him back to where he came. That was nearly 300 years ago.
After the war, the Wardens became a symbol of peace and equality, defending the lands from any threats that would arise. The years passed and the Fellowships numbers began to dwindle as less and less new Wardens could be recognized. The shadow of Mortigom looms over Novamterra, sensing the weakness in the force which defeated him before. He gathers power now and the last surviving Warden can sense it.
The last Warden currently resides in an unknown location, trying desperately to awaken new Star Gems and create new Wardens. Will one of them be you?

Here's our awesome map of Novamterra. The shaded areas are different biomes, stars are capitols, and circles are other cites or towns.
Red is human, blue is Merfolk, green is elven, yellow is kitsune, black is dwarven, and purple is goblin.
Grey is mountains, dark green is forest, white is tundra, yellow is desert, light green is grass lands, and red is wastelands.
I'd like to note that the citys show are only the larger ones. There might be a few extra towns and villages here and there

The Kingdoms
These are the specs for the primary kingdoms and their inhabitants
Humans
The humans are by far, the most technologically advanced of the kingdoms, mixing magic with science to create things like airships, energy rifles, and steam golems. Their capitol, Granghold, is a vast city surrounded by a wall of iron with a Victorian style feel to it and ruled by King Maxus. The smaller colonies, such as towns and villages, are less advanced and their inhabitants are more skilled with common weaponry. A few humans have even learned enough magic to be called mages.
Humans are physically the largest of the main species and outside of the major cities, they dabble in many different areas of expertise. The average lifespan of a human is 80 years though several have lived far beyond this age. Their territory is that of the grasslands and they have a few colonies in the southern pine forests.
Elves
The elves are naturally skilled with magic and for this reason they make the best mages. Their capitol, Buemartera, is one with the forest they reside in, their homes carved into the trees themselves and ruled by Queen Kassandra. At the center of each city is a grand oak tree that casts a barrier over each city and protects it from invaders. Only a few elven colonies are not built into the forest themselves and these ones are relatively small compared to the others.
Elves are build very lean and are only a bit smaller then most humans. Any elves who don't practice magic will train for combat, often preferring lighter weaponry. The average lifespan of an elf is about 300 years and most elves are vegetarian because they view hunting as inefficient compared to farming. Their territory is that of the forests in the north and they watch over it carefully.
Dwarves
The dwarves are the finest warriors in the land, wielding the finest weapons and the strongest armor. Their capitol, Dirmatroven, is built into Golem Mountain and nobody leaves or enters without King Torbus knowing about it. Their other colonies are built from stone with a few underground and if they are above ground, they're surrounded by a wall of stone bricks.
Dwarves are very muscular which makes up for them only being about a meter tall. Dwarves cannot practice magic and have natural resilience to spells. Their average lifespan is 160 years and one a dwarf turns 20, they are considered an adult. Their territory is that of the Crystal Mountain Range but they primarily live underground.
Kitsune
The kitsune are naturally very agile and intelligent, making them skilled assassins. Their capitol, Kemitsitar, is a city of ice and snow, ruled by Queen Marian. Their colonies are built from lumber and snow, using magic to strengthen their homes and make them hard as rock. In the center of each city is a pillar that protects the inhabitants from the elements as well as intruders. Kitsune are naturally resistant to cold and a little sensitive to heat making fire spells useful against them.
Kitsune look like young adults, growing to about five feet tall. Other then their fox ears and multiple tails, they look fairly human. Kitsune are skilled with magic though for them it is hard to master. Their average lifespan is about 200 years and they never seem to slow down, even in old age. Their territory is that of the ice plains and tundra where they watch over their land with a diligent eye.
Merfolk
The merfolk are the half fish guardians of the sea. Merfolk have evolved the ability to control their element at will and in large numbers they can summon waves capable of destroying cites. Their capitol, Picemons, is a giant coral reef with homes built right into the structure and ruled by Queen Savana. Most cites of theirs are built like this though a few exist in underwater trenches. Merfolk are great healers and skilled duelers though prefer to avoid conflict if possible.
Merfolk are the most diverse because what they're capable of is determined by what sea creature they resemble. Their average lifespan is about 120 years but again, this is dependent on what creature resemble. They prefer to stay beneath the waves though can grow legs and walk on land if they wish. Their territory is that of the sea and traversing the ocean without their knowledge can be dangerous for a number of reasons.
Goblins
The fallen kingdom, their once beautiful mountains now a wasteland of twisted nightmares. The sun no longer shines here and the air is harsh to breathe. Their cities are in runes, nothing but collapsed castles and dwellings. Goblins today are mutated into a number of monstrous forms with an unquenchable thirst for blood. Goblins cannot stand light and wear tinted goggles to protect their eyes should they leave the wastelands. Not many goblins are left and to travel to the wastelands is a suicide mission. Their capitol is far underground and the only entrance is at the center of a twisted, corrupted forest, protected by the Drastaken sea.
Small pockets of goblins survived, being away from the kingdom and hiding out in the desert or forest. They are looked down upon and desperate, attacking in groups to try and steal from travelers. About the size of a dwarf but far more bony and hunched over, they have large noses and ears that give them heightened senses. Their eyes are highly sensitive to light and their skin burns easily so they normally attack and move at night.
These are just the main species and there are many small villages with different types of creatures living throughout the land, often under the protection of one kingdom or another. Outside the cities, many monsters and creatures, mythical or otherwise, live their lives. Werewolves, vampires, demons, dragons, man eating plants, trolls, giants, etc. All of these and more live in Novamterra.
Other Races
This a collection of other races which have been requested to be included as playable characters or simply creatures that needed clarification. If you have a request, ask and if I decide it's playable, I will add it to this list .
Angels
Angels are servants of the gods and come to earth only in times of crisis. The last time angels were sent to Novamterra, Mortigom was rampaging across the lands. Angels have no true form but when on Novamterra, they often take the shape of a human or elf with wings sprouting out their back. The wings can be hidden using magic, allowing them to blend in quiet effectively.
Angels are exceptionally skilled with light magic and have the ability to summon a weapon of choice at almost any time. They have no true place in the world though are respected by many and viewed as a symbol of good.
Demons
Demons are foul creatures that originate from unknown parts, tearing into our world and wanting nothing more then to bring chaos and destruction. When a demon escapes, an angel will often be sent to deal with the threat and stop it before it becomes serious.
Demons are very skilled with dark magic and use it to fulfill their desires. All demons scorn the light and direct sunlight can vanquish or kill most of these creatures. They vary in shape, size, power and many other aspects but they all have similar goals.
If the demons body is still there, it isn't dead. A truly deceased demon will decay into nothing in a mater of minutes which is why harvesting demonic materials must be done quickly.
Werewolves
Lycanthropy is a demonic infection of the blood, spread through the bite of the infected. Nearly any sentient being can contract lycanthropy but only an Alpha werewolf may pass on the disease. Once bitten, the now infect has until the next full moon to kill the Alpha or they too will become a werewolf.
One who is infected with lycanthropy will undergo an uncontrolled transformation when ether in an enraged state, or if the full moon is shining down. The creature they transform into is that of a humanoid wolf, normally growing a few feet and putting on a large mass of muscle in the process.
Silver burns through werewolves like a hot knife through butter and can easily kill one if anything important becomes injured. Werewolves heal quickly though, even in their human state, and are often not in control of themselves when in wolf form.
Vampires
Another demonic infection, also spread through the bite of the infected. Similar to lycanthropy, any sentient being can be infected and only full vampires can pass on the disease. Once bitten, the infected is now a halfling, forced to serve their master until they find someone to take their place. Vampires are very choosy with who they infect and if a servant can find a suitable replacement, they will be changed into a full vampire and go off to start their own pack.
To a vampire, blood is fuel and they more they have, the stronger they are. Vampires may not be out in broad daylight for the sun can and will kill them unless they protect themselves from the light. Objects blessed by priests or any object of the gods is a powerful weapon against a vampire and though they heal quickly, wounds inflicted by these weapons can leave brutal scars.
Phoenix
Phoenix are magical creatures, imbued with the elemental powers of fire. Phoenix often take the form of a large bird, their feathers like flame and talons like coals. They are incredibly intelligent creatures and can potentially live forever since once they reach the end of their natural life cycle, they burst into flames and a new, slightly larger and wiser phoenix emerges from the ashes. Some phoenix have completed the cycle so many times, their size rivals that of a dragon.
Phoenix are incredibly adapt with fire magic and can not be harmed by any form of it though this makes water magic very useful against them. Though many people respect phoenix, many want no more then to steal their feathers for use in magical items and spells. For this reason, phoenix can disguise themselves as a mortal being though it saps their strength and leaves them vulnerable.

A race once heeding from the islands to the northeast, now completely dead, with artifacts relating to their existence several thousands of years ago just now being recovered. From the currently recovered examples of their anatomy, it seems that they were primarily humanoid in form, being just slightly taller than a human but having a larger skull to compensate for the smaller brain to mass ratio. Other nearby artifacts indicate they were highly skilled in the magical arts, often utilizing them to great use, creating massive structures. How they were destroyed is unknown, at least for the moment.
Moonshines ~Created by 1Athena1
At some point in elven history, the bloodlines began to move away from each other, one of these groups forming the peoples know as The Moonshines. Moonshines are more barbaric then their cousins and live together in small villages in small homes made from tree branches and animal skins. The easiest way to tell a Moonshine from regular elves is their by skin, which over the years has become darker.
In a Moonshine society, a tribe will follow their chief who leads his people in almost every major decision. While the men hunt and fight, the woman tend to their homes and practice the art of dance. Dance is a very important part of Moonshine culture and is actually a form of magic for them. Moonshine tribes are scattered about Novamterra, primarily within the elven forests though a few dwell in the desert and grasslands.
Blood Elves ~Created by Teknonick
The Blood Elves are a branch of elf that has gone in a totally different direction. Instead of loving magic, and using it for everyday life, they loath it. They destroy magic, or to be more specific, eat it. The Blood Elves are known for hating Magic users and attacking them without notice. They then consume their magic abilities quickly, and any magic used on them is consumed as well.
Blood elves dwell primarily in the elven forests though a few have been seen in the dwarven mountains. The elven capitol is working to exterminate them, being a threat to their people and all. The head of a blood elf fetches a high bounty and makes them targets for bounty hunters.
Dragons
Dragons are an ancient species, coming in many shapes and forms to suit where they choose to make their home. Normally they stay away from civilization, both because of the public's general fear, and each part of them being of very high value on the black market. Dragons grow very slowly, having a bit of a growth spurt during their first year and reaching about the size of a horse before slowing down. Dragons have the potential to live forever, and since they never stop growing, they can become truly massive in some cases.
Most dragons posses two forms of magic, a 'breath' power, and the ability to switch into a single, weaker form. Their scales are tough, and depending on the dragon, can be stronger than steel though they often have weak spots, commonly their underbellies or joints. Despite all these savage features, dragons are highly intelligent and at times, social creatures. Some have even learned to blend into society by learning an appropriate disguise.
The Wardens
Wardens are chosen by the magical rocks known as star gems. A star gem is created when someone is recognized as being able to handle the responsibility that comes with being a Star Warden. A Warden can call their gem to them at any time and use it to communicate with other Wardens. If both parties are willing, Wardens can determine each others positions by using their gems.
The gems empower their owners, giving them increased dexterity and providing a source of courage. For this reason, it is common practice for Wardens to have their gem decorate their weapon or be worn as a symbol of pride. All Wardens are equal though some have greater experience then others and are recognized as leaders among their brethren.
If a Warden becomes corrupted for whatever reason, their gem will turn inky black and loose it's power. Why Wardens fall, nobody truly knows but most of them hide their soiled gems and disappear, not wanting to call attention to themselves. Some Wardens fall for no apparent reason, their gems possibly stopping a tragedy before it starts.
Rules
Justice will be issued using a three strike system. Get three strikes and I have the right to punish your character. If you continue to break the rules, you will be banned.

Personality: Friendly, short fused, and a mentor. Gavin likes to let people make their own mistakes but will not let one come to any serious harm from making one. Most of the time he's a kind man but when angry things can get ugly. Career: Full time Warden Bio: Gavin was a collector of magical artifacts, searching the world for antiques to add to his treasure trove. One day, he found a gauntlet, buried away in the sands. The gauntlet was made from brass, with odd symbols and runes scrawling along the outside. Intrigued, he tried it on and by doing so, changed his fate forever. The gauntlet holds the power to control time and space, used by the gods long ago in the creation of Novamterra. Most of it's power is gone though it still holds more then enough to prove dangerous. That day, Gavin also found a star gem, a smooth stone that looked like a piece of the night sky itself. The stone now decorates his gauntlet, which is bound to him until the day he dies and because of the gauntlet, this won't happen any time soon. Personality: Very straight forward, righteous sometimes too righteous (and yes that can be a problem), quiet, only speaks when needing to, tries his best to uphold justice (and enjoys smiting those who cause problems) Career: Basically he is part of a high order of police seeking to keep justice through out the land Bio: Zusheqiel is one of the Archangels, they are their own race as well as job. Their main purpose was to fight, but are also very majestic and filled with knoweledge. They kept on their own, only watching the land but not interfering unless they had to. They used to could see all of time and made sure it was as it was supposed to be. When the great demon Mortigom was summoned, the angels led by the archangels were called to fight him. They failed... The demon killed almost the whole amry and those whe survived, which were very few, were scattered accross the land. Zusheqiel, managed to survive, though he lost his divine power, and he lost his race in that battle, not knowing who survived and who didn't. He also could not see time like he used to. He was mortal. having not a lot of power left to fly, like he used to, he walks off to rebuild what was once, one of the strongest races and get revenge for the blood the demon had shed. Key Items: He can't fly but he can jump higher than the other races. Depending on others that apply with a similar idea i will most likely be the only one. the weapon he summons at choice is a sword which made out of pure energy, and it is said that what was left of his Divine Power went into that sword. ((Oh wow, I'm going to join! I haven't finished reading yet, but I will after I come back! I'm planning on being an Angel, but I don't know it yet... Like I'm in the form of another... Personality: Gandalf is very mysterious and secretive because he wants those he cares about to stay out of harm. He is also very strong in magic, mind, and body because his body and magic became stronger when he fell into the death pit with the unknown monsters of the abandoned mines of Moria.
Career: Part-time fireworks merchant and full-time mage
Bio: After the war of the 6 kingdoms, I fell into the death pit of the mines of moria. I was able to reincarnate or ressurect somehow and became Gandalf the White. Surprisingly enough, I found myself in a meadow that was told to have been where the deaths of many races came to be. Without delay I found my bearings and set up camp by what little I had which was fire for light and my staff for protection. I still fear that another death may be coming this night and it might be me. I hear growling and howling and I see that there are jackal wolves, the toughest of wolves. Fearing that they may provoke me, I set off one of my fireworks and the sound seems familiar for them... As if they know what it can mean... A fight ((some fireworks are loud enough to sound like gunshots)). I clearly know that many more deaths have came even after the war because they have been desensitized to the loud bangs of gunshots and they charge at me. To my dismay, I kill them off one by one until the pack of what I can count as 20. I rest until it is daybreak and then I will head off...

Ever since I was a child... I looked into the Vortex and that's when it chose me. The Drumming. The Call. To War.

Name: Minaki Taiyō Age: 23 Race:Angle/Merfolk Gender: Male Appearance: I have long curly light blue hair. I wear a Wizards Robe, which is blue to signify my expertise. I don't wear any clothing underneath, for it would weaken my powers by slowing me down. I also wear light sandles, with a little hint of magic to keep them fro breaking. I'm pretty average weight, about a pound or so under the average Merfolk. My skin color is a mix between Yellow-Green and Light Blue, making a fine mixture of the two. My eyes are white as though I was blind, but that is common in Mefolk. Personality: I love to help people, even if it means breaking a few rules. The Taiyō Legacy

Birth
I was born from two very powerful angles. They had known of the coming danger from the goblins and their evil, but the other angles had called them liars! Obviously my parents were right, but the others did not listen. My parents had almost left to the world to stop the evil from happening, but they were stopped... instead, they had set me as an infant, in the body of a Merfolk.
I was sent to the capital of the Merfolk, laid down softly in front of a house. The owners of the house were fairly old, but had a daughter of the age eleven... that is, what a human would be considered... The owners took me in under their arm for a few years as a babe but died as their daughter had reached the equivalent age of sixteen. She was forced to raise me at a young age on her own... unaware of how much trouble I would be.
Childhood
I grew up as a child, never knowing I was an angle, or that my birth parents were angles either. My 'mother' raised me on her own for many years, teaching me the ways of a Merfolk. We played many games together, for we were very close in age. She was very good over her powers of controlling the water, as all Merfolk learn such feats at early ages, and she's had plenty of time to mature hers. She tried teaching me how to control it, but for some reason I had never learned how to do it right..... I wasn't a Merfolk.
I played with other children of my age and tried hanging out with the older kids. The older kids put up with me, but my mother would quickly notice they were bored and would normally pull me away so they could continue their own games.. When I'd play with the other kids, I would be laughed at for how I could not control water, it was very strange and unheard of in their people... that didn't stop me though! I would play their games just as good as they would, even without the ability to control water, so that, in a way, made me better than they were.
Adulthood
Around adulthood I had moved out on my own, leaving my mother behind... I met a human mage, who took me in as his prodigy, teaching me simple magic, and a bit towards water, as so I could hide the fact I did not know how to control it naturally... I had lived with him for all of my adulthood, cleaning up after him.. you now, cleaning the house without using magic to show I would not abuse my powers.... I used it anyway.
Just about a week ago I had left him, now trained as a full mage, and given enough money to pay for supplies. He also lent me a wizard's robe and cloak, as well as a wand to help with my magic. I plan on fighting off the goblins and helping others along their way as they need it, but other than that, I have no clue I'm going to be doing a lot more than hunting small groups of goblins, or helping with the little old lady and getting her cat out of the tree... I'm chosen to be a Warden, but do not know it. I have no clue who they are, never being told anything about them...

Name: Maosu Kikoeru Taiyō Age: 23(As Relative to a Human) Race: Elf Gender: Female Appearance: Light blue eyes and blond hair. Average size, at exactly 6 ft 21⁄2 in. She wears simple clothing and dresses, made normally of plain colors, like white, and rough materials. Personality: She is extremely hyper at times, but can get depressed at others.... she moans for her lost husband... Career: Illusionist Bio: I grew up with my two siblings, Josia and Naoto. We lived with each other all our lives, but only for a few hours with our parents... Our parents brought us to an orphanage, not ready to take care of us, then left us there... We were never picked, then kicked out at the age of eighteen.
I married a man at the age of twenty, purely in love with him as any mortal would be. He turned out to be evil and attempted to bite my neck one night! My brother had heard me scream so he came to my rescue and attacked my husband. My husband got away that night.
Everyday and am drawn to the windows at night... My husband comes to me every night, seeking to turn me and bring me with him... I cannot fight his powers, but I am forced away by my siblings, or other's that happen to be near...
I had been practicing magic during those years, being very keen with such things. Josia had won over the other's living with us, being very diplomatic. Naoto was never around, always going off, getting into trouble, but he helped us when we needed it.
After we had left, I got into Illusions, and brought out their full powers, learning that they were powerful magic to learn. Josia had gone into Diplomacy, traveling around the city to locations for 'meetings'. Naoto had joined the guard and learned the use of the sword, taking out many enemies that wished to harm the city.. or us...
Very recently, I have learned many things of he arts of magic, becoming an expert! All the while, Josia had finally convinced her higher rankings to let her go on farther ventures. Naoto got into trouble with his peers, constantly arguing, and fighting..
Naoto's sent Josia and I letters to meet him at the barracks, saying it was important... what could it be? Key Items: A Magical Spear, passed down from Kassy. I do not wear shoes, for the Novamterra has no reason to hurt my feet. I'm slightly malnourished, although it is my own doing... I tend to give away my food to the other's who aren't lucky enough to have any. My skin color is a dark brown, probably the darkest in all the lands... just behind the dreaded Drow; which I accused of being every day. My eyes are Black, just like my brother Naoto. Personality: I am a very calm minded person, I don't like violence, and tend to use every way possible to avoid it; but when I'm forced to I will fight. I usually sit by myself, searching for inner peace and tranquility. I do not like conflict, and attempt to stop it everywhere I go. Career: Wandering Monk. Bio: I am a Monk who grew up in monastery far off the shores of the mainland. I was separated at birth from my parents, just as all my other siblings were.... although, I was adopted the same day I was left at the orphanage. I lived there for my entire life, learning of the sacred and peaceful ways of the monk. I was taught by my master, who happened to be my parent. He never spoke a word, yet everything he ever said was understood perfectly.
I lived with the monks, playing and having fun as every monk would, the meditation room. Although we did get into trouble at times, I was rarely caught, and so that made each capture worse for myself. I wasn't as bad as most other monk kids, who would take every chance to get away, so I was given a new name, Gandhi. The name comes from a book, about a young man who changes his people for good. His people were captured and forced under them as low living people, so he fought to free them. From them on they called my Gandhi, and never spoke of my other name
I had been taught by my parent, as well as other students and fellow teachers, yet I never caught the grasp of the insight they had claimed to see. I understood what they meant by it, but I could not feel it; I needed proof. I eventually gave up, but my parent told me to not give up, for surrender is the key element in defeat. He instead gave me a Magical Talisman, which had the power to calm any mortal, and give them insight on the eternal peace of the world, for as long as they wore it!
I took it and wore it everyday, though, the insight it gave me was that of what I had already known... it was not enough for me. I eventually took my leave of the small island, seeking to know more and possibly help other's see what I have learned throughout the years; eh, mainly the first one though. I said goodbye to my parent and fellow monks. We all hugged and said out prayers to each other, then I set out on a boat to the mainlands.
Before my true quest has begun, I have already found trouble. The ship used to transport me to the mainland is under attack by pirates! My ship's crew and captain were thrown overboard, and hopefully have found they way back to the island; but that is not likely. I was taken on board the ship as a 'token' for the captain saw something in me... I don't know what he sees, but I doubt it's what I'm looking for. Key Items: Magical Talisman. Name: Michael Josive Black Age: 36 Race: Human Gender: Male. Appearance: I have short red hair. I wear a white shirt with very little design, black pants that are also plain. I wear a black jacket over my shirt, it has the symbol of a blue dragon on the back. I wear big heavy black boots, with brown fur around the top of them. I weigh perfectly normal, though I might look a bit thin due to my size. My skin color is rather tan, yet naturally light. My eyes are Bright Blue like the shining sea. Personality: When someone disobeys my command, they cease to exist. When I'm listened too I can be kind and gentle. If I see someone poor and in distress, I hand them a bag of coins to send them off... hoping they'd join me later. I'm not racist, but I dislike the elves very much. Their ways are too insane and can't possibly be though of as righteous. Career: Pirate Captain Bio: My name is Michael. My parents are Mr. and Mrs. Black, though they don't look it. They raised me as a healthy boy, always caring for me and paying for anything I wanted. I was loved by many people around town and in school, although there was a bully in school who always picked on me. His name was John, the weirdest name an Elf could ever have... He picked on me, using his magical powers to practically get away with murder! Although when everyone else saw what he was doing, no one would step in. I learned that other's could not be trusted to help me when I needed it most... so I learned the ways of 'true trust' in the familiar coin.
One day I couldn't take the bullying any longer, so I tried fighting him. I had nearly won, but at the end he launched me off into the air. I kept fighting him everyday, but he only got better and better, so I decided to 'hire' some of the other kids to help me. I paid them each my allowance and we beat him up, sending him to the infirmary with a broken nose and bleeding arms. Of course I got kicked out of school for that, yet they never harmed the elf.... maybe I should have explained he was the principle's only son.
Once I entered adulthood my parents grew ill and died, leaving me to the world on my own. I found many jobs, always changing, never finding 'the right one' that I could stick with. None of them had enough money. I went into theft, stealing from peoples home, but I eventually grew sad and sorry for them and stole only from those who would not suffer much from it. I soon grew accustomed to my behaviors, and moved onto Pirating. I was handed a gun and taught to shoot. I didn't like the idea at first, but once I realised how much I was making, I soon loved it.
I made many 'friends', if you can call a fellow Pirate that, among my travels. We were very wealthy, and I was thinking about retirement at my youthful age.... but the British were coming a fleet came after us and took us down. We didn't stand a chance, I was the only survivor. They confiscated all of my earnings, taking it for themselves, rather than trying to return it. They sentenced me to death by rope, not giving me a choice in the matter. I was about to hang, waiting for my death to come, but my captain had survived! He shot the executioner and came up to untie me. The guards attacked me, and he handed me my old gun he had saved. I noticed it was glowing now. He told me it was enchanted with a magic, that when dipped in the water, it would glow, and enable perfect aim! As an added bonus, the powder would continue to work... I did wonder why he used this rather than a rifle, but now I know why.
We fought for out lives, he with sword and I with gun. He was taking one of the guards on his own, but another came up behind him! He didn't see him coming, so I took a shot. I saved his life that day, just as he had saved mine. I still wonder to this day how he was never found during the crash, or ever after. I started out on my own again, but this time thought about owning my own ship and crew. I earned enough money to purchase a ship, a magical ship. Its properties allowed it to sail at sea, as well as take to the skies and even underwater! It was a dangerous ship, one to never be reckoned with! It had twenty guns on each side, huge full decks, a massive dining hall and beautiful captains quarters. It had the other essentials as well. It's flags were painted with blue dragons on them, designed after the legendary sea serpent, who has never truly been seen.
I found my crew and hired them each. I promised them all shares, rather than a full salary; I didn't have the money. We made a few trips, attacking small camps and moving onto villages, but always stayed near the waters. I heard about this island full of monks, who were said to have many treasures all worth a small fortune! I made my way there with my ship, thinking I could easily get through, but a magic stopped my passage and damaged the ship. I returned to a port and got repairs before setting out again. My ship's underwater form was malfunctioning at the time, so I could not use it. I stayed outside the island, away from view, and waited for a ship to come by. I found one and killed the passengers, keeping the monk to myself. I knew he would know the way in, but the others were liabilities. I'm heading down to the cells to check on him now while taking the ship into port to give the crew a short brake. Key Items: Trusted Rifle and Ship Location: The ocean, coming into port. Hello, and welcome to Novamterra, the wonderful world I have created for all of you. This is an intermediate level, original, fantasy RP and the world it takes place in is a vast and mysterious one with legends and mythical beasts living throughout the lands. Your role in the story can be whatever you wish as long as we don't have too many duplicates and it isn't OP. I want you to understand I will not allow the flawless ninja or the decked out battle tank. Your characters will face powerful foes, they will be injured and if a stupid mistake is made, possibly killed. Lore
Novamterra. A world where magic meets science and myth runs alongside reality. For years, it's inhabitants lived in peace but like everything good, it couldn't last forever. As each kingdom grew, they began to bicker and slowly the tension built. Before long, war was declared, a plague that would ravage the lands for centuries and start an arms race like no other.
The humans mastered technology, using electronics and runes to power cannons and steam golems. The elves mastered magic, becoming powerful mages and summoners. The dwarves became great warriors, armed with the finest weapons in the land and the strongest fortresses of any of the kingdoms. The merfolk took hold of the sea, learning how to manipulate their element at will and push back invaders. The kitsune became masters of stealth and speed, cutting down anyone foolish enough to challenge them.
The final kingdom, the goblin empire, couldn't stand up to these new threats which slowly pushed against their borders. In a final act of desperation, they summoned a great evil capable of turning Novamterra into a horror filled wasteland. This evil was known as Mortigom, a powerful demon who corrupts all he touches and puts fear into the hearts of even the bravest warriors.
The sixth kingdom fell, and from its ashes came an army of darkness. The remaining kingdoms became worried and realized that if they were to stop Mortigom, they must ban together and stand as one. With that, The Fellowship of the Star Gems was born. Becoming a Warden of the gems was considered to be one of the highest honors that one could ever receive and it was not something to be taken lightly. Lead by the Fellowship, the five kingdoms pushed back the darkness and overcame Mortigom, sending him back to where he came. That was nearly 300 years ago.
After the war, the Wardens became a symbol of peace and equality, defending the lands from any threats that would arise. The years passed and the Fellowships numbers began to dwindle as less and less new Wardens could be recognized. The shadow of Mortigom looms over Novamterra, sensing the weakness in the force which defeated him before. He gathers power now and the last surviving Warden can sense it.
The last Warden currently resides in an unknown location, trying desperately to awaken new Star Gems and create new Wardens. Will one of them be you?

The Kingdoms
These are the specs for the primary kingdoms and their inhabitants
Humans
The humans are by far, the most technologically advanced of the kingdoms, mixing magic with science to create things like airships, energy rifles, and steam golems. Their capitol, Granghold, is a vast city surrounded by a wall of iron with a Victorian style feel to it and ruled by King Maxus. The smaller colonies, such as towns and villages, are less advanced and their inhabitants are more skilled with common weaponry. A few humans have even learned enough magic to be called mages.
Humans are physically the largest of the main species and outside of the major cities, they dabble in many different areas of expertise. The average lifespan of a human is 80 years though several have lived far beyond this age. Their territory is that of the grasslands and they have a few colonies in the southern pine forests.
Elves
The elves are naturally skilled with magic and for this reason they make the best mages. Their capitol, Buemartera, is one with the forest they reside in, their homes carved into the trees themselves and ruled by Queen Kassandra. At the center of each city is a grand oak tree that casts a barrier over each city and protects it from invaders. Only a few elven colonies are not built into the forest themselves and these ones are relatively small compared to the others.
Elves are build very lean and are only a bit smaller then most humans. Any elves who don't practice magic will train for combat, often preferring lighter weaponry. The average lifespan of an elf is about 300 years and most elves are vegetarian because they view hunting as inefficient compared to farming. Their territory is that of the forests in the north and they watch over it carefully.
Dwarves
The dwarves are the finest warriors in the land, wielding the finest weapons and the strongest armor. Their capitol, Dirmatroven, is built into Golem Mountain and nobody leaves or enters without King Torbus knowing about it. Their other colonies are built from stone with a few underground and if they are above ground, they're surrounded by a wall of stone bricks.
Dwarves are very muscular which makes up for them only being about a meter tall. Dwarves cannot practice magic and have natural resilience to spells. Their average lifespan is 160 years and one a dwarf turns 20, they are considered an adult. Their territory is that of the Crystal Mountain Range but they primarily live underground.
Kitsune
The kitsune are naturally very agile and intelligent, making them skilled assassins. Their capitol, Kemitsitar, is a city of ice and snow, ruled by Queen Marian. Their colonies are built from lumber and snow, using magic to strengthen their homes and make them hard as rock. In the center of each city is a pillar that protects the inhabitants from the elements as well as intruders. Kitsune are naturally resistant to cold and a little sensitive to heat making fire spells useful against them.
Kitsune look like young adults, growing to about five feet tall. Other then their fox ears and multiple tails, they look fairly human. Kitsune are skilled with magic though for them it is hard to master. Their average lifespan is about 200 years and they never seem to slow down, even in old age. Their territory is that of the ice plains and tundra where they watch over their land with a diligent eye.
Merfolk
The merfolk are the half fish guardians of the sea. Merfolk have evolved the ability to control their element at will and in large numbers they can summon waves capable of destroying cites. Their capitol, Picemons, is a giant coral reef with homes built right into the structure and ruled by Queen Savana. Most cites of theirs are built like this though a few exist in underwater trenches. Merfolk are great healers and skilled duelers though prefer to avoid conflict if possible.
Merfolk are the most diverse because what they're capable of is determined by what sea creature they resemble. Their average lifespan is about 120 years but again, this is dependent on what creature resemble. They prefer to stay beneath the waves though can grow legs and walk on land if they wish. Their territory is that of the sea and traversing the ocean without their knowledge can be dangerous for a number of reasons.
Goblins
The fallen kingdom, their once beautiful mountains now a wasteland of twisted nightmares. The sun no longer shines here and the air is harsh to breathe. Their cities are in runes, nothing but collapsed castles and dwellings. Goblins today are mutated into a number of monstrous forms with an unquenchable thirst for blood. Goblins cannot stand light and wear tinted goggles to protect their eyes should they leave the wastelands. Not many goblins are left and to travel to the wastelands is a suicide mission. Their capitol is far underground and the only entrance is at the center of a twisted, corrupted forest, protected by the Drastaken sea.
Small pockets of goblins survived, being away from the kingdom and hiding out in the desert or forest. They are looked down upon and desperate, attacking in groups to try and steal from travelers. About the size of a dwarf but far more bony and hunched over, they have large noses and ears that give them heightened senses. Their eyes are highly sensitive to light and their skin burns easily so they normally attack and move at night.

These are just the main species and there are many small villages with different types of creatures living throughout the land, often under the protection of one kingdom or another. Outside the cities, many monsters and creatures, mythical or otherwise, live their lives. Werewolves, vampires, demons, dragons, man eating plants, trolls, giants, etc. All of these and more live in Novamterra.
Other Races
This a collection of other races which have been requested to be included as playable characters or simply creatures that needed clarification. If you have a request, ask and if I decide it's playable, I will add it to this list .
Angels
Angels are servants of the gods and come to earth only in times of crisis. The last time angels were sent to Novamterra, Mortigom was rampaging across the lands. Angels have no true form but when on Novamterra, they often take the shape of a human or elf with wings sprouting out their back. The wings can be hidden using magic, allowing them to blend in quiet effectively.
Angels are exceptionally skilled with light magic and have the ability to summon a weapon of choice at almost any time. They have no true place in the world though are respected by many and viewed as a symbol of good.
Demons
Demons are foul creatures that originate from unknown parts, tearing into our world and wanting nothing more then to bring chaos and destruction. When a demon escapes, an angel will often be sent to deal with the threat and stop it before it becomes serious.
Demons are very skilled with dark magic and use it to fulfill their desires. All demons scorn the light and direct sunlight can vanquish or kill most of these creatures. They vary in shape, size, power and many other aspects but they all have similar goals.
If the demons body is still there, it isn't dead. A truly deceased demon will decay into nothing in a mater of minutes which is why harvesting demonic materials must be done quickly.
Werewolves
Lycanthropy is a demonic infection of the blood, spread through the bite of the infected. Nearly any sentient being can contract lycanthropy but only an Alpha werewolf may pass on the disease. Once bitten, the now infect has until the next full moon to kill the Alpha or they too will become a werewolf.
One who is infected with lycanthropy will undergo an uncontrolled transformation when ether in an enraged state, or if the full moon is shining down. The creature they transform into is that of a humanoid wolf, normally growing a few feet and putting on a large mass of muscle in the process.
Silver burns through werewolves like a hot knife through butter and can easily kill one if anything important becomes injured. Werewolves heal quickly though, even in their human state, and are often not in control of themselves when in wolf form.
Vampires
Another demonic infection, also spread through the bite of the infected. Similar to lycanthropy, any sentient being can be infected and only full vampires can pass on the disease. Once bitten, the infected is now a halfling, forced to serve their master until they find someone to take their place. Vampires are very choosy with who they infect and if a servant can find a suitable replacement, they will be changed into a full vampire and go off to start their own pack.
To a vampire, blood is fuel and they more they have, the stronger they are. Vampires may not be out in broad daylight for the sun can and will kill them unless they protect themselves from the light. Objects blessed by priests or any object of the gods is a powerful weapon against a vampire and though they heal quickly, wounds inflicted by these weapons can leave brutal scars.
Phoenix
Phoenix are magical creatures, imbued with the elemental powers of fire. Phoenix often take the form of a large bird, their feathers like flame and talons like coals. They are incredibly intelligent creatures and can potentially live forever since once they reach the end of their natural life cycle, they burst into flames and a new, slightly larger and wiser phoenix emerges from the ashes. Some phoenix have completed the cycle so many times, their size rivals that of a dragon.
Phoenix are incredibly adapt with fire magic and can not be harmed by any form of it though this makes water magic very useful against them. Though many people respect phoenix, many want no more then to steal their feathers for use in magical items and spells. For this reason, phoenix can disguise themselves as a mortal being though it saps their strength and leaves them vulnerable.

A race once heeding from the islands to the northeast, now completely dead, with artifacts relating to their existence several thousands of years ago just now being recovered. From the currently recovered examples of their anatomy, it seems that they were primarily humanoid in form, being just slightly taller than a human but having a larger skull to compensate for the smaller brain to mass ratio. Other nearby artifacts indicate they were highly skilled in the magical arts, often utilizing them to great use, creating massive structures. How they were destroyed is unknown, at least for the moment.

At some point in elven history, the bloodlines began to move away from each other, one of these groups forming the peoples know as The Moonshines. Moonshines are more barbaric then their cousins and live together in small villages in small homes made from tree branches and animal skins. The easiest way to tell a Moonshine from regular elves is their by skin, which over the years has become darker.
In a Moonshine society, a tribe will follow their chief who leads his people in almost every major decision. While the men hunt and fight, the woman tend to their homes and practice the art of dance. Dance is a very important part of Moonshine culture and is actually a form of magic for them. Moonshine tribes are scattered about Novamterra, primarily within the elven forests though a few dwell in the desert and grasslands.
Blood Elves ~Created by Teknonick
The Blood Elves are a branch of elf that has gone in a totally different direction. Instead of loving magic, and using it for everyday life, they loath it. They destroy magic, or to be more specific, eat it. The Blood Elves are known for hating Magic users and attacking them without notice. They then consume their magic abilities quickly, and any magic used on them is consumed as well.
Blood elves dwell primarily in the elven forests though a few have been seen in the dwarven mountains. The elven capitol is working to exterminate them, being a threat to their people and all. The head of a blood elf fetches a high bounty and makes them targets for bounty hunters.
Dragons
Dragons are an ancient species, coming in many shapes and forms to suit where they choose to make their home. Normally they stay away from civilization, both because of the public's general fear, and each part of them being of very high value on the black market. Dragons grow very slowly, having a bit of a growth spurt during their first year and reaching about the size of a horse before slowing down. Dragons have the potential to live forever, and since they never stop growing, they can become truly massive in some cases.
Most dragons posses two forms of magic, a 'breath' power, and the ability to switch into a single, weaker form. Their scales are tough, and depending on the dragon, can be stronger than steel though they often have weak spots, commonly their underbellies or joints. Despite all these savage features, dragons are highly intelligent and at times, social creatures. Some have even learned to blend into society by learning an appropriate disguise.
The Wardens
Wardens are chosen by the magical rocks known as star gems. A star gem is created when someone is recognized as being able to handle the responsibility that comes with being a Star Warden. A Warden can call their gem to them at any time and use it to communicate with other Wardens. If both parties are willing, Wardens can determine each others positions by using their gems.
The gems empower their owners, giving them increased dexterity and providing a source of courage. For this reason, it is common practice for Wardens to have their gem decorate their weapon or be worn as a symbol of pride. All Wardens are equal though some have greater experience then others and are recognized as leaders among their brethren.
If a Warden becomes corrupted for whatever reason, their gem will turn inky black and loose it's power. Why Wardens fall, nobody truly knows but most of them hide their soiled gems and disappear, not wanting to call attention to themselves. Some Wardens fall for no apparent reason, their gems possibly stopping a tragedy before it starts.

Bio: Gavin was a collector of magical artifacts, searching the world for antiques to add to his treasure trove. One day, he found a gauntlet, buried away in the sands. The gauntlet was made from brass, with odd symbols and runes scrawling along the outside. Intrigued, he tried it on and by doing so, changed his fate forever. The gauntlet holds the power to control time and space, used by the gods long ago in the creation of Novamterra. Most of it's power is gone though it still holds more then enough to prove dangerous. That day, Gavin also found a star gem, a smooth stone that looked like a piece of the night sky itself. The stone now decorates his gauntlet, which is bound to him until the day he dies and because of the gauntlet, this won't happen any time soon.

Personality: Very straight forward, righteous sometimes too righteous (and yes that can be a problem), quiet, only speaks when needing to, tries his best to uphold justice (and enjoys smiting those who cause problems)
Career: Basically he is part of a high order of police seeking to keep justice through out the land
Bio: Zusheqiel is one of the Archangels, they are their own race as well as job. Their main purpose was to fight, but are also very majestic and filled with knoweledge. They kept on their own, only watching the land but not interfering unless they had to. They used to could see all of time and made sure it was as it was supposed to be. When the great demon Mortigom was summoned, the angels led by the archangels were called to fight him. They failed... The demon killed almost the whole amry and those whe survived, which were very few, were scattered accross the land. Zusheqiel, managed to survive, though he lost his divine power, and he lost his race in that battle, not knowing who survived and who didn't. He also could not see time like he used to. He was mortal. having not a lot of power left to fly, like he used to, he walks off to rebuild what was once, one of the strongest races and get revenge for the blood the demon had shed.
Key Items: He can't fly but he can jump higher than the other races. Depending on others that apply with a similar idea i will most likely be the only one. the weapon he summons at choice is a sword which made out of pure energy, and it is said that what was left of his Divine Power went into that sword. The swords name is "Angel's Smite". with the sword he is able use magic, but unable if he loses it

Personality: Gandalf is very mysterious and secretive because he wants those he cares about to stay out of harm. He is also very strong in magic, mind, and body because his body and magic became stronger when he fell into the death pit with the unknown monsters of the abandoned mines of Moria.
Career: Part-time fireworks merchant and full-time mage
Bio: After the war of the 6 kingdoms, I fell into the death pit of the mines of moria. I was able to reincarnate or ressurect somehow and became Gandalf the White. Surprisingly enough, I found myself in a meadow that was told to have been where the deaths of many races came to be. Without delay I found my bearings and set up camp by what little I had which was fire for light and my staff for protection. I still fear that another death may be coming this night and it might be me. I hear growling and howling and I see that there are jackal wolves, the toughest of wolves. Fearing that they may provoke me, I set off one of my fireworks and the sound seems familiar for them... As if they know what it can mean... A fight ((some fireworks are loud enough to sound like gunshots)). I clearly know that many more deaths have came even after the war because they have been desensitized to the loud bangs of gunshots and they charge at me. To my dismay, I kill them off one by one until the pack of what I can count as 20. I rest until it is daybreak and then I will head off...

Appearance: I have long curly light blue hair. I wear a Wizards Robe, which is blue to signify my expertise. I don't wear any clothing underneath, for it would weaken my powers by slowing me down. I also wear light sandles, with a little hint of magic to keep them fro breaking. I'm pretty average weight, about a pound or so under the average Merfolk. My skin color is a mix between Yellow-Green and Light Blue, making a fine mixture of the two. My eyes are white as though I was blind, but that is common in Mefolk.
Personality: I love to help people, even if it means breaking a few rules. I might seem a little awkward and might not know what to do in some situations, but I'll wing it when I have too.

I was sent to the capital of the Merfolk, laid down softly in front of a house. The owners of the house were fairly old, but had a daughter of the age eleven... that is, what a human would be considered... The owners took me in under their arm for a few years as a babe but died as their daughter had reached the equivalent age of sixteen. She was forced to raise me at a young age on her own... unaware of how much trouble I would be.
I played with other children of my age and tried hanging out with the older kids. The older kids put up with me, but my mother would quickly notice they were bored and would normally pull me away so they could continue their own games.. When I'd play with the other kids, I would be laughed at for how I could not control water, it was very strange and unheard of in their people... that didn't stop me though! I would play their games just as good as they would, even without the ability to control water, so that, in a way, made me better than they were.
Just about a week ago I had left him, now trained as a full mage, and given enough money to pay for supplies. He also lent me a wizard's robe and cloak, as well as a wand to help with my magic. I plan on fighting off the goblins and helping others along their way as they need it, but other than that, I have no clue I'm going to be doing a lot more than hunting small groups of goblins, or helping with the little old lady and getting her cat out of the tree... I'm chosen to be a Warden, but do not know it. I have no clue who they are, never being told anything about them...

Bio: I grew up with my two siblings, Josia and Naoto. We lived with each other all our lives, but only for a few hours with our parents... Our parents brought us to an orphanage, not ready to take care of us, then left us there... We were never picked, then kicked out at the age of eighteen.
I married a man at the age of twenty, purely in love with him as any mortal would be. He turned out to be evil and attempted to bite my neck one night! My brother had heard me scream so he came to my rescue and attacked my husband. My husband got away that night.
Everyday and am drawn to the windows at night... My husband comes to me every night, seeking to turn me and bring me with him... I cannot fight his powers, but I am forced away by my siblings, or other's that happen to be near...
I had been practicing magic during those years, being very keen with such things. Josia had won over the other's living with us, being very diplomatic. Naoto was never around, always going off, getting into trouble, but he helped us when we needed it.
After we had left, I got into Illusions, and brought out their full powers, learning that they were powerful magic to learn. Josia had gone into Diplomacy, traveling around the city to locations for 'meetings'. Naoto had joined the guard and learned the use of the sword, taking out many enemies that wished to harm the city.. or us...
Very recently, I have learned many things of he arts of magic, becoming an expert! All the while, Josia had finally convinced her higher rankings to let her go on farther ventures. Naoto got into trouble with his peers, constantly arguing, and fighting..
Naoto's sent Josia and I letters to meet him at the barracks, saying it was important... what could it be?

Appearance: I have long black kept hair. I wear a Monk's Robe, which is orange, with a bit of yellow and red for extra flair. I do not wear shoes, for the Novamterra has no reason to hurt my feet. I'm slightly malnourished, although it is my own doing... I tend to give away my food to the other's who aren't lucky enough to have any. My skin color is a dark brown, probably the darkest in all the lands... just behind the dreaded Drow; which I accused of being every day. My eyes are Black, just like my brother Naoto.
Personality: I am a very calm minded person, I don't like violence, and tend to use every way possible to avoid it; but when I'm forced to I will fight. I usually sit by myself, searching for inner peace and tranquility. I do not like conflict, and attempt to stop it everywhere I go.
Career: Wandering Monk.
Bio: I am a Monk who grew up in monastery far off the shores of the mainland. I was separated at birth from my parents, just as all my other siblings were.... although, I was adopted the same day I was left at the orphanage. I lived there for my entire life, learning of the sacred and peaceful ways of the monk. I was taught by my master, who happened to be my parent. He never spoke a word, yet everything he ever said was understood perfectly.
I lived with the monks, playing and having fun as every monk would, the meditation room. Although we did get into trouble at times, I was rarely caught, and so that made each capture worse for myself. I wasn't as bad as most other monk kids, who would take every chance to get away, so I was given a new name, Gandhi. The name comes from a book, about a young man who changes his people for good. His people were captured and forced under them as low living people, so he fought to free them. From them on they called my Gandhi, and never spoke of my other name
I had been taught by my parent, as well as other students and fellow teachers, yet I never caught the grasp of the insight they had claimed to see. I understood what they meant by it, but I could not feel it; I needed proof. I eventually gave up, but my parent told me to not give up, for surrender is the key element in defeat. He instead gave me a Magical Talisman, which had the power to calm any mortal, and give them insight on the eternal peace of the world, for as long as they wore it!
I took it and wore it everyday, though, the insight it gave me was that of what I had already known... it was not enough for me. I eventually took my leave of the small island, seeking to know more and possibly help other's see what I have learned throughout the years; eh, mainly the first one though. I said goodbye to my parent and fellow monks. We all hugged and said out prayers to each other, then I set out on a boat to the mainlands.
Before my true quest has begun, I have already found trouble. The ship used to transport me to the mainland is under attack by pirates! My ship's crew and captain were thrown overboard, and hopefully have found they way back to the island; but that is not likely. I was taken on board the ship as a 'token' for the captain saw something in me... I don't know what he sees, but I doubt it's what I'm looking for.

Appearance: I have short red hair. I wear a white shirt with very little design, black pants that are also plain. I wear a black jacket over my shirt, it has the symbol of a blue dragon on the back. I wear big heavy black boots, with brown fur around the top of them. I weigh perfectly normal, though I might look a bit thin due to my size. My skin color is rather tan, yet naturally light. My eyes are Bright Blue like the shining sea.
Personality: When someone disobeys my command, they cease to exist. When I'm listened too I can be kind and gentle. If I see someone poor and in distress, I hand them a bag of coins to send them off... hoping they'd join me later. I'm not racist, but I dislike the elves very much. Their ways are too insane and can't possibly be though of as righteous.
Career: Pirate Captain
Bio: My name is Michael. My parents are Mr. and Mrs. Black, though they don't look it. They raised me as a healthy boy, always caring for me and paying for anything I wanted. I was loved by many people around town and in school, although there was a bully in school who always picked on me. His name was John, the weirdest name an Elf could ever have... He picked on me, using his magical powers to practically get away with murder! Although when everyone else saw what he was doing, no one would step in. I learned that other's could not be trusted to help me when I needed it most... so I learned the ways of 'true trust' in the familiar coin.
One day I couldn't take the bullying any longer, so I tried fighting him. I had nearly won, but at the end he launched me off into the air. I kept fighting him everyday, but he only got better and better, so I decided to 'hire' some of the other kids to help me. I paid them each my allowance and we beat him up, sending him to the infirmary with a broken nose and bleeding arms. Of course I got kicked out of school for that, yet they never harmed the elf.... maybe I should have explained he was the principle's only son.
Once I entered adulthood my parents grew ill and died, leaving me to the world on my own. I found many jobs, always changing, never finding 'the right one' that I could stick with. None of them had enough money. I went into theft, stealing from peoples home, but I eventually grew sad and sorry for them and stole only from those who would not suffer much from it. I soon grew accustomed to my behaviors, and moved onto Pirating. I was handed a gun and taught to shoot. I didn't like the idea at first, but once I realised how much I was making, I soon loved it.
I made many 'friends', if you can call a fellow Pirate that, among my travels. We were very wealthy, and I was thinking about retirement at my youthful age.... but
the British were cominga fleet came after us and took us down. We didn't stand a chance, I was the only survivor. They confiscated all of my earnings, taking it for themselves, rather than trying to return it. They sentenced me to death by rope, not giving me a choice in the matter. I was about to hang, waiting for my death to come, but my captain had survived! He shot the executioner and came up to untie me. The guards attacked me, and he handed me my old gun he had saved. I noticed it was glowing now. He told me it was enchanted with a magic, that when dipped in the water, it would glow, and enable perfect aim! As an added bonus, the powder would continue to work... I did wonder why he used this rather than a rifle, but now I know why.We fought for out lives, he with sword and I with gun. He was taking one of the guards on his own, but another came up behind him! He didn't see him coming, so I took a shot. I saved his life that day, just as he had saved mine. I still wonder to this day how he was never found during the crash, or ever after. I started out on my own again, but this time thought about owning my own ship and crew. I earned enough money to purchase a ship, a magical ship. Its properties allowed it to sail at sea, as well as take to the skies and even underwater! It was a dangerous ship, one to never be reckoned with! It had twenty guns on each side, huge full decks, a massive dining hall and beautiful captains quarters. It had the other essentials as well. It's flags were painted with blue dragons on them, designed after the legendary sea serpent, who has never truly been seen.
I found my crew and hired them each. I promised them all shares, rather than a full salary; I didn't have the money. We made a few trips, attacking small camps and moving onto villages, but always stayed near the waters. I heard about this island full of monks, who were said to have many treasures all worth a small fortune! I made my way there with my ship, thinking I could easily get through, but a magic stopped my passage and damaged the ship. I returned to a port and got repairs before setting out again. My ship's underwater form was malfunctioning at the time, so I could not use it. I stayed outside the island, away from view, and waited for a ship to come by. I found one and killed the passengers, keeping the monk to myself. I knew he would know the way in, but the others were liabilities. I'm heading down to the cells to check on him now while taking the ship into port to give the crew a short brake.
