Soon Sir Ithmagpe arrived at a forest. It was quite pleasant, nice and quiet. He approached a bend in the road, when suddenly, a screaming man RAN forward, babbling about archers and elves and dead bandits. The man stumbled off the path and into the trees. SIr Ithmagpe regarded the woods around him a bit more carefully. Slowly, trying to make as little noise as possible, he dismounted. And stepped onto a twig.
"Today is NOT my day for stealth..." he thought.
Sir Ithmagpe froze in place, looking like a slightly foppish statue. When nothing seemed to happen, he relaxed his stance. Decided that it would be rather stupid to talk to himself, he tied his horse to a nearby tree. Then, he moved forward on the path, trying to avoid twigs, with a moderate degree of success. He crept forward, hoping to avoid any sort of conflict, when he saw someone! He didn't even know who or what it was, or even if there was anyone with it. He looked around quickly, and backed up.
At first he was only walking slowly towards his horse. Then, he started jogging. Sir Ithmagpe got to it before he panicked and went into a full-on run. He retrieved his rapier, which he had left at his horse, and drew it from it's sheath! He may not have known how to use it, but he was sure he could have bluffed his way out of the situation. He shivered wondering what or who was coming, and saw that it was a massive... Hulking... Terrifying... Hobbit? Quite an ugly one, with a grumpy scrunched up face and a squashed potato-like nose. He looked at the noble holding a rapier towards him and went pfft. Then, he said, "I'd not recommend going ahead, quite a few bandit corpses. It's quite smelly."
As the two stepped into the woods surrounding the camp, they found two horses in the stables.
"Not horses..." Torrak mumbled as he was helped onto the horse.
Hinnoron got on the horses and was ready to ride back to Rohan.
Hinnoron and Torrak rode Eastward for Mirkwood, Rhovanion. Only the night before, it had been attacked by bandits and Hinnoron had been captured.
"How were you captured?" Hinnoron asked.
Torrak mumbled," I was fighting for a village with little protection,' he said," and when I thought it was over, you know, when I though I had won, I was captured. Forced to work here for the rest of my life, barely any food and water." Torrak said as his stomach growled." Then you came along and pretty much saved me." Torrak continued.
"How did I save you, dwarf?" Hinnoron asked.
"You distracted the orcs long enough." Torrak answered.
Without speaking anymore, they rode into The Brown Lands.
"What archers?" Ariel asks confidently.
The bandits in front of him look around the surrounding forest frantically before giving up. "We don't need them!" The main bandit yells. He charges at Ariel with his sword raised and the other follow his lead. 4 bandits closing in on me. Can I handle it? Ariel thinks. He slaps his horse on her backside and she runs into the forest where she watches. He turns, so the 2 bandits that were in front of him are now to his left and the ones behind are now on his right. Each bandit is about 5 metres away on each side.
((This RPing may get a bit messy. Not good with action ))
Ariel ducks under the first bandits sword and blocks an incoming sidewards swing from the second bandit to arrive. The first bandits sword cuts into the second bandits neck and he falls to the ground, dead. Ariel jumps over the second's body, so he now isn't trapped in the circle of death.
The bandit that killed the other stays back, shocked by what he did, while the other living bandits charge at Ariel. Ariel parries the first one to get to him, stabbing him in the leg before spinning around and slicing the other one in across his leg. They fall to their knees and Ariel leaves them be for the time being.
The last remaining bandit runs away towards Rhovanion. Ariel looks up into the trees toward Athalos and says, "Thank you." He turns around towards Aaerin and says, "Thank you."
Althalos nods and extended his hand out. "Althalos Forthwind, son of Terrowin" introduced Althalos, smiling. "What are you doing out here?" questioned Althalos. He observed Ariel from head to toe and then turned to Aaerin. Elf archer and swordsmen, interestinting. He turned back to face Ariel and waits for an answer.
Ariel shakes Athalos' hand and replies, "I am travelling to Rhovanion. But first I must sort out this bandit problem." He walks over to the two bandits. One is making a desperate attempt to crawl away and the other is still. "Why have you been blocking the path?" Ariel asks.
The bandit spits at Ariel's feet. "Maybe the other will be willing to talk." Ariel mutters.
He strolls over to the bandit attempting to escape and kneels next to him. "Why have you been blocking the path?"
"Don't hurt me!" He pleads.
"Give me the information I want and I won't need to."
"W- We were sent here b- by-"
"Don't talk, you cowardly scum bag!" The still bandit yells. The scared bandit quietens down and begins to mutter something.
Ariel walks back to Athalos. "Looks like they were acting on orders of some kind. We should follow the man that ran away to see if he leads us to what we want... What do you want to do with these survivors?"
(( No I say. Last time ended with me getting annoyed at my RL friends pestering me to talk to them ))
Althalos shook his head and walks towards them, sliding his dagger out of it's holster. "First one to talk get's to live", said Althalos as he stares down at the two bandits. He uses his left hand and slides out the other dagger. He throws the right dagger to one bandit which pierced his shirt and sticks it to the ground. He does the same with his other dagger. "So which one of you want to live?".
(( I'll call them Bandit 1 and Bandit 2 for now. Bandit 1 is the loyal one and Bandit 2 is the scared one ))
"These guys are weak! They won't kill us! They're bluffing!" Bandit 1 yells to Bandit 2.
Bandit 2 is crying, but he doesn't talk. He doesn't seem to want to go against what the other bandit says even though he can't do anything if he does.
I'm not as ruthless as this man, but his plan just might work, Ariel thinks.
Althalos went to bandit 2 and kneels down to one knee and whispers into his ear, "Don't listen to him, save yourself", whispered Althalos. He drew another dagger from his back and throws it straight at bandit 1, which pierces his shoulder and get's stuck in. He walks over to him and pulls the dagger out and the other from the ground. He stands up and sighs.
"The- The Church hired us t- to gather valuable items from people travelling this p- path... Th- They sent others to every path leading to-" He loses consciousness from blood loss.
~
Ariel stops the bleeding on his wound and looks up at Athalos. "The Church must be an organization that supports crime for their own personal gain. The reason they called themselves 'The Church' must be because anyone filing a complaint about them will be seen as a heretic. Also, this path leads to many different places and it'll be hard to locate the exact position of The Church."
"Well then we have a job to do, investigate the church", said Althalos as he placed his daggers back into it's holsters and smiles. This'll also help me with my task. "You in?" asked Althalos while looking at Ariel with a slight curious look on his face.
Althalos whistles as well and then his horse runs to him and stops right before. "Hello Artemis", whispered Althalos as he stroked the horse gently. He turns to face Aaerin and asks, "What about you?".
Aaerin tosses the mission over in his mind a couple times, then shrugs. "Might as well. Its not like I actually have anything to do, so why not." Aaerin makes a low pitched call that sounds like a birds. His house clopped up to him and nuzzled his neck. "The church... This group seems petty smart as Ariel said. Oh and my name is Aaerin."
"Spectacular" said Althalos while he grunts. He climbs on top of his horse and clears his throat. "First stop, Rhovanion" said Althalos. He gestures for them to follow him as he slowly gallops away.
(( I think I've been playing to much Mass Effect. My mind is filled with galactic politics and combat strategies. I'll try not to incorporate it too much into the RP ))
Ariel mounts his horse and follows Athalos. "Do you know how far we must travel to reach Rhovanion?" He queries. No more fooling around, the fulfillment of his goal begins here. He will avoid killing as best he can and save everyone he is physically and mentally capable of.
It was time to start moving West. Unless Sir Ithmagpe wanted to scale a mountain, which was... Not a good idea, especially for someone like him. He wanted to see Rohan! If he kept moving West, then soon he'd be in clear enough terrain to to go North. There was a SMALL gap in between two mountains far West that he could squeeze through to go North. Then, it was smooth sailing to get through the Gap of Rohan. Sir Ithmagpe wasn't exactly who SAID smooth sailing anymore, people who sail he guessed.
"So, Hinnhor-Hinoro-Hinnoron, how'd you get here?" Torrak asked delightedly.
"Save my village. Got capture. You know, the usual mischief." Hinnoron answered, dawning on the fact of freedom.
"Today is NOT my day for stealth..." he thought.
