THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU PLAN ON APPLYING! It was added by Qualien. He's a moderator.
First off, this one is REGARDING MAGICAL POWERS: For those who's characters are mages, in your application, add a Spells: section to clarify what exactly your character can cast. Please, only three spells! While I'm on the topic of magic, other classes may use magic, but they are limited to two weak spells. In many cases, magic for other classes will NOT be allowed!
Second, LANGUAGES AND THOUGHTS: The three languages(Only three!(Some exceptions may occur.)) are English, Dwarven, and Elven. These languages are signified with BOLD, UNDERLINES, and STRIKES respectively. If you wish to create a new language, please include how it will be told from the other languages(NO COLORINGS PLEASE!).(By the way, I don't want to see EVERY character to suddenly know all three main languages.) Thoughts would be placed in italics. Simple enough, yes?
Third is CHARACTER AGE: I am stressing on this topic because in a previous RP I was in, this was an actual issue! Since most role plays have a more specific character age frequency, ages on the extremes will most likely be left out of certain occurrences, such as romantic developments. Let's take an example from the RP I was referring to earlier. One character(Who was a female.) was fifteen years old. On the other hand, there was a character(Male) who was twenty eight years old. The male character wanted a relationship with the female, but was obviously rejected and called a pedophile, for reasons I REALLY shouldn't have to explain. In many of the new applications, I see much younger characters than the standard. Now I'm only really saying this now to attempt to avoid conflict in the future, but are you sure you wish to be younger than sixteen? You will certainly miss out on advantages an older character would have, such as a greater education, or a relationship. And they definitely won't know how to fight!
Fourth is CLASSES IN GENERAL: When I look through the newer applications, all I see are rogues! Come on, we need some diversity here! I don't give a crap if you're usually a rogue in other role plays, I want to see some fighters! Classes are more or less a description of how your character fights, and if we have everybody just kind of hiding in the shadows, then fights would be boring and indifferent every time! While on this topic, I would like to declare that any characters that have NOT been accepted have the word "rogue" in their class section will NOT be accepted! If you don't like that, suck it up or leave. I can honestly care less, especially since I don't know you. Mixing of classes is allowed, but only two at a time, and one must be dominant to the other. For instance, my character is mainly a rogue, but may use the weapons of a ranger from time to time.
Fifth is STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES: Many of your applications are not dedicated towards the strengths and weaknesses of your characters. If you look at mine, I gave nice long sentences describing my assets and liabilities, and then summed them up with single descriptive words. Mostly what I see in these sections are what your character doesn't like, and maybe a few relevant words upon the subject. NOT EVERYBODY IS TRAINED IN THE ART OF COMBAT, AND WON'T AUTOMATICALLY BE ABLE TO USE WEAPONS PROFICIENTLY. THE TWO MAIN CLASSES WHICH REQUIRE A CHARACTER TO BE TRAINED IN THE USAGE OF THEIR WEAPONS WOULD BE RANGERS AND MAGES. I am going to include building and farming in this one, mostly because those can be depicted as strengths. If you are proficient in one of these, you would obviously suck at the other one. Or you suck at both. There will be no jack of all trades in this role play, if I can help it. By the way, your personality can also fit into this section. Such as whether or not you are shy, or if you respond negatively to certain things, etc etc.
Sixth and lastly is RACES: This first part regarding humans. Humans are the vanilla race, weakest of them all. They have no exclusive strengths or advantages over the other races. They have to rely solely on technology and/or magic to survive. If you wish to be superbly proficient in a certain class, you should look through the descriptions of the races and choose the one you think would fit your style best.
This thread is only for your applications! The actual RP-ing is on a different thread.
Welcome new, intermediate, and old RP-ers! Welcome to One Last Experiment! This RP is not pre-written. Your choices will warp how the story continues. You have the choice to bring up or destroy the world. Continue if you think you have the power.
Story:
The land of Ka'Uhran. A large kingdom, many towns and cities, thriving with people. Destroyed in an instant. All that's left are craters, smoldering, and broken. You wake in a crater, hurt and confused. You have survived the large magical attack that as killed your family, friends, and neighbors. But who was this done by? An immortal man named Brokcrest. His sole purpose in life is to experiment. It seems that all of this destruction was his doing. He killed everyone in an attempt to bring them back to life. Instead, he failed and brought them back as monsters. Zombies, skeletons, and spiders. Even the feared creeper. You and the other survivors have to do testing, under his command. You can go willingly, or fight back. It is your decision, for there may only be One Last Experiment.
Current Progress: The survivors have either chosen to join Brokcrest and obtain strange and powerful abilities, or joined the small settlement of the others. The settlement is relatively big, with huts, a large wooden wall around it, and a path leading to a farm. However, this may change when testing begins in four months.
Races:
Humans - Um... they're humans. They're usually friends with everyone. They relatively well rounded when it comes to strength, agility, and magic. Choose this race is you want to be a common character. They look how any normal human would.
Elves - Tall, agile people. They enjoy being around nature, and hate anyone that hurts it. If they take from nature, they always give back. (I.E. Trees and saplings.) Elves are known for their expertise in magic and archery. However, there are always special cases that are better or worse in strength. Elves commonly have blonde or black hair. Their trademark feature is their pointed ears.
Dwarves - Short, strong people. They have great pride in their beards. They are extremely proficient with a pickaxe, and love to mine. They are jolly folk that easily make friends. They shorter than normal people, about half the height of a normal human. Dwarves usually have red or brown hair. They usually have very large strong hands. Most dwarves grow up to be great warriors, there are special cases however.
Awas - Half-human, half-fish. They can live in water and above ground. They do not have any form of hair whatsoever. They have blue or green skin. They hate anybody that pollutes lakes, rivers, or oceans. They have gills on their necks, and webbed hands and feet. Most Awas are great with a bow, but there are exceptions.
Blitz - Half-human, half-animals. They are extremely agile, strong and have good night vision. They usually are covered with hair on their head, arms, legs, and back. Their chest and nether regions are usually hairless. They have sharp teeth and claws. They are usually aggressive, and make great warriors and rouges. However, there are special cases.
Orcs - Strong brutes. They usually have more brawn than brains. They enjoy living in the heat. Many Orcs are hairless, and are covered with scars and tattoos. All Orcs have green skin, and black hair if they have any. Orcs have sharp teeth, and are well known to be very aggressive. Almost all Orcs grow up to be amazing warriors.
Feils - Calm caring people. They were created by a mutation in a select group of people. They are extremely light, and have large wings on their back. They can fly to a certain degree, and they can always glide from any height. However, due to their light body, they usually cannot take lots of damage. Most Fiels have blonde hair and blue eyes. They are proficient in magic.
Daemons - Rough, evil creatures. No one is sure where they came from. They have red skin and white eyes. They take great pride in their jet black horns, making sure no scratches are made on it. They always have scars covering their body. The more scars you have, the stronger you are. They are relatively short, about chest height to humans. Most Daemons become warriors, however some learn Dark Magic.
Quas - Quas are calm happy people. Their body shape is the same as a human. However, their entire body is varying shades of blue. They are always sleepy, and can sleep up to 100 years at a time. Quas can go very long without eating or drinking. Most Quas become warriors when they grow up.
Fyre - Eternal fire trapped in a human vessel. Fyre does not age, and does not need to eat or drink. However, they do need to sleep. Most Fyre become magicians, fighting with fire magic. Fyre usually have red hair, black eyes, and pink skin. They are hot-headed and spontaneous, often making rash decisions. Fyre cannot come into contact with large amounts of water.
Warforge - (Added by ravenhawk32) Metal humanoids. They were created under the Earth's surface with a mixture of arcane magic and Dwarven skills. They have the ability to think rationally, and are usually very smart and strong. However, being a machine, many people refuse to trust Warforges.
Bloodied - (Added by TheCyanTortoise) A race of humanoids, resembling more muscled, bulkier elves. They usually possess black or pure white hair, often kept long and styled into warrior knots and braids. They keep the long, pointed ears of the elves, as well as their tall height. Their eyes are usually a pitch black color, with no iris, though shamans often have pure white eyes. The Blooded's hands are stained red, a ritual they must undertake as soon as they can walk.
Earthwraith - (Added by Flyingpig29) Essentually, Earthwraiths are entities formed from swarms of insects, millipedes, spiders and other minibeasts that dwell in leaf litter. They can transfer their spirits to other kinds of arthropods, however (Eg. Crabs and lobsters when underwater).
Khan - (Added by Kiiro-beri) A race prosperous in the north, their heirs are more stockily built like the dwarf to retain heat from the cold. Because of their constant struggle with the relentless weather, their bodies have adapted slowly to be harder than others. However, unlike the dwarves, they use their fists to attack. They are known prestigiously to be extremely short-tempered and hard to get along with albiet very loyal. They prefer walking on all fours, using their hands as sticks with the fist faced downwards toward the ground, much like the way a gorrilla trots. To make this possible, his arms are almost as long as his legs. They resemble primitive humans, yet are still able to use their brains to a halfway modern extent.
_____ - You can make your own class, and I'll see about adding it. Please go into some detail.
Classes:
Ranger - They use far ranged weapons, usually preferring to use a bow or crossbow. However, if the situations needs it, they will pick up a dagger. They have extremely good aim and eyesight, and usually are quick and nimble.
Warriors - Strong and durable. They prefer to fight with anything sharp. They are usually the first to charge into battle, wielding a shield and armor. They are extremely resilient, and can take a beating.
Mage - Calm, wise people. Mages cast magic by using the ancient language, or by talking to the spirits of the Elements. (Earth, Air, etc. Depends on the magic.) They can also use a staff or wand, instead of talking, making sneak attacks easier. Mages usually have more brains than brawn, and are almost useless at close range fighting.
Rouges - Calm, calculating people. They hide in the shadows and wait for the perfect moment to strike. They use an assortment, of hidden weapons, ranging from daggers to blowpipes. Rouges usually travel by themselves, or in a group of two. They are quick thinking, and always have a plan B.
Engineer - (Added by Dragoncasp8) Engineers' combine ingenuity with technology. They have experience using, and making machinery. When necessary, they prefer hand to hand combat. They prefer to take care of enemies before they even come near with the use of contraptions. Bows are forbidden among engineers
There are not all of the classes. There are always subclasses as well. For example, if you wanted to be a Necromancer, that would fall under Mage. Just make sure you specify.

I haven't seen you in ANY RP's aside from your own. You also just double posted. You should participate in many roleplays before you even think of setting up your own. I'm just letting you know, as you will most likely be onslaughted with hate in a short period of time.

At the same time, you aren't likely to get respect in the roleplaying community if the second you start roleplaying you make your own RP. Many have tried, many have failed.

Hahaha, thanks for the advice, but I have roleplayed before. I just enjoy joining RP's that don't already have lots of members, which don't exist (at the moment).
Therefore, I made my own.
Also, I didn't double post, I did that on purpose. I don't like applications cluttering up the roleplaying, thank you very much.
But thanks for the creative criticism. Seriously. But I think I can handle some hate. I won't go commit suicide.

No, double posting is not making multiple threads, it's making multiple posts in a row, without anyone posting in-between. Hence, you just double-posted.

I'm always happy just 'cause there isn't a reason to be sad.
Don't take this as there is nothing that could cause sadness. I just mean it's pointless to dwell on it. I mean, depression is so boring.

Uhh.. Question: Why do you need people's RL age? Seems a little shifty.. >.> <.<
And ignore people like Neilsaur. They don't know what you've done up to this point, so what they say doesn't matter.
(BTW, you have a typo on [CHARACTER RACE:]. It should be "Character's", not "Characters's"! :tongue.gif:(AAAAANNNNNDDDDD... While I'm telling you things I think you should fix about the character sheet, I suggest that you put text in parentheses after the colon, not before.(Hello. Yes, another suggestion. Me thinks you should take more interest and concern in the appearance of the characters. You need to be able to visualize a face, complete with all the normal features that character's race would have. I took a look at Stryk's profile, and I didn't see much along the line of detail.))
What is Your Age?: I, the person who [is writing/has written] this profile, am fourteen years of age.
What is Your Character's Name?: My character was born given the name Qualien.
What is Your Character's Age?: Qualien, who's birthday is on the eighteenth of September, is currently at the age of nineteen.
What is Your Character's Race?: Qualien's parents both hailed from the [Blitz(Cat)] species.
Write a Short Description of Your Character.: Qualien has a light build, very scrawny and lanky, opening and revealing areas where those who are buff and large would have trouble, or otherwise be unable to access. Qualien stands at a height of [seven feet-two inches] tall, and weighs in at around [one-hundred-thirty] pounds. His fleshier parts sport a pale coloring, while fur-covered areas are a dark gray. Qualien's shaggy, long(Nothing extreme, probably around two to three inches at most) cranial hair is a blonde. His eyelids are moderately round, showing off large areas of his dull-blue irises and slit-pupils. Qualien's triangular ears sit near the top of his head, while his long, slender tail trails behind. Qualien is wearing a bright green shirt sporting a circular patch with the golden outline of the sun in the center. Surrounding his legs and waist is a pair of khaki baggy pants.
What is Your Character's Class?: Qualien likes to attack from afar, confusing and outwitting his enemies rather than overpowering them in straight up combat. He would be considered more of a rogue then anything, but he does wield ranged weaponry on occasion.
Can Your Character Read, Write, Speak Proficiently?: Qualien had gone through primary, secondary, and tertiary schooling levels, enabling him to speak, read, and write fluently in English, Elven, and Dwarven.
Can Your Character Build?: Qualien's father was an architect, and has taken enough interest in his kin's trade to learn advanced techniques and gain the strength to create a sturdy, practical, and aesthetically pleasing building when given enough time, materials, and money (Or some form of capitalistic gain). He has gained this knowledge both from secondary and tertiary schooling, along with experiencing the trade with his fatherly figure.
Can Your Character Farm?: Qualien has the capability to farm, but retains no extensive knowledge that may allow him to exploit such food-growing techniques effectively or efficiently. Qualien has learned this skill through primary school and common knowledge.
What Kind of Strengths Does Your Character Have?: Qualien, being of the Blitz species, can be described as agile, speedy, and having exceptional eyesight. Qualien is also very sociable, albeit his style of attack and strategic intervention, and usually passes off as a outgoing and interesting guy(Some negative side affects of social interaction have the chance to occur(EG. Making new enemies)). Qualien has a vast range of intellectual wisps which he can pull from to aide in his efforts, as well as a very healthy dosage of common sense(Although whether or not (and how} he uses his cranial matter is up to him). (TL;DR(Too long;Didn't Read), Charismatic, Dextrous, Intelligent.)
What Kind of Weaknesses Does Your Character Have?: Qualien, although socially open and intelligent, is easily peeved, and may cause physical and emotional inflictions upon his target, although he tries his best not to break under his foes' pressurings. Qualien also does not possess a large quantity of physical strength, meaning he would be in quite a bit of trouble if encountering a much stronger opponent up close. *Quite recently, Qualien has developed a severe case of speluncaphobia, or a fear of caves. (TL;DR, Weak, Low Vitality, Unenduring, *Speluncaphobia.)
Is There Anything You Want To Add?: Please do not take the long, intelligent words and sophisticated grammar as a sample of my personality and/or roleplay style. I just like to show off sometimes. >:wink.gif:

Now hang on a second! I was implying that it was slightly arrogant of you to assume that the community would be less likely to accept him simply because he is newer to the forum. Although there ARE people who might be like that, it doesn't mean all of the experienced forum-goers prefer those like themselves. And how the posts are rolling in at the moment, this is an OOC thread(Other than RP-relevant material), and unless Cobra decides to say it isn't, double posting is perfectly fine around here. If you don't want DPs, then keep the thread as it is, instead of derailing it with off topic criticism. Besides, last time I had checked, the OP is CraftingCobras. It's his thread, he can do whatever he wants as long as it doesn't offend the TOS. Oh, and to politely correct you, my name is spelled Qualien.
Okay, I'll let you off with a warning thread maker. You can't hop in here and say you have experience, not by my watch. First off, this is a bad idea. You need a plotline if you want experienced, respected players to join because no one wants to have OOC on every page discussing what you're going to do.
Second, you haven't been in any roleplays ON THE FORUMS. I don't care if you've roleplayed in other forums, I'm not going anywhere near your roleplay if you haven't made a name for yourself around Fan Art.
Third, trolling criticism gets you nowhere. Neilsaur is trying to help, but you shoot him down. This is why you have one applicant.
Lastly, don't start two ****ing threads for a roleplay you spamming ****. You assume you may come in here and spam our forums with two posts which are the same ****? Nope.
EDIT: Qualien, actually, double posting isn't allowed anywhere. It's assumed as bumping a thread without editing, and is a warning. You may just as well edit it into your original post.
Second,

If you wish to create a new language, please include how it will be told from the other languages(NO COLORINGS PLEASE!).(By the way, I don't want to see EVERY character to suddenly know all three main languages.) Thoughts would be placed in italics. Simple enough, yes?Third is CHARACTER AGE: I am stressing on this topic because in a previous RP I was in, this was an actual issue!

Goddamn do I hate this name z_z
Um... I think you should remember that no one else really exists yet. Also, normal people don't carry around bows and stuff.
You go read Day of the Dragon by Richard A. Knaak THEN tell me 'Normal' People don't carry around bows...
EDIT: And I don't think you realize what an Elven Ranger is...
Goddamn do I hate this name z_z
Touche. You're accepted. XD
For having a smart tongue.
BOT: He's a pretty good RPer if I do say so my self...
Goddamn do I hate this name z_z
Hahaha, thanks for the advice, but I have roleplayed before. I just enjoy joining RP's that don't already have lots of members, which don't exist (at the moment).
Therefore, I made my own.
Also, I didn't double post, I did that on purpose. I don't like applications cluttering up the roleplaying, thank you very much.
But thanks for the creative criticism. Seriously. But I think I can handle some hate. I won't go commit suicide.
Don't take this as there is nothing that could cause sadness. I just mean it's pointless to dwell on it. I mean, depression is so boring.
Sweet.
Don't take this as there is nothing that could cause sadness. I just mean it's pointless to dwell on it. I mean, depression is so boring.
